The home's date of construction was circa 1820. The current owners believed this piece was once on the old barn. It was most recently used as garden decor. Measurements: The piece measures 2 feet and 8 inches tall. 2 feet and 4 inches wide. Condition: The piece is very heavy and is in good vintage condition. It is rusty in spots. But its details are still very clear. There are two areas of deterioration with small holes. Please see photographs for accurate condition information. Description This is a nice piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. The uprights have scrolls at the top. It has a semi arched hairpin top. There are crossbars across the body with a cast iron flower in the middle. The pin is present and the keeper is intact but loose. There is rust overall. It measures 29.75 inches wide by 40 inches tall. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. Architectural Salvage - Stone Shelf/Mantle/Garden Piece.
Neat piece of Architectural Salvage. Measures 49" long. 8" wide and 11/4" thick. It weighs 40 Pounds! Solid stone of some kind. Gray/black color but it differs as to how the light strikes it. Came from an estate. The story told was it was originally a bigger piece of stone that came from New England where it was used in an old icehouse as a shelf to place milk, butter on to keep cool as the dense stone retained the cold from the ice during the summertime. It was then repurposed by cutting to turn it into a mantlepiece for a law office. At that time it was reduced in size and the design on the top cut into the stone. It later was intended for display in a garden but ended up just sitting in a rundown shed where I found it. Initially I thought it was a piece of barnwood.until I went to lift it! Large Solid Cast Brass Medallion Lion Head Garden Fountain-Architectural Salvage
Large vintage solid brass medallion or finial for fountain. Or other. Heavy solid brass. The lion symbol measures 10 1/4" tall and 6 3/4" wide. Also 2 1/2" deep. There are two connecting spots on the back. One of them has the threaded insert that screws in and out. The other side is missing. The angle of the connections tells me that it went on something round. Excellent dark, natural patina on the brass front. Beautiful architectural piece. Also numbered on the back as seen in the photos.

2 Metal Lion Heads For Garden Fountain-Architectural Salvage
This is a pair of lion heads which I believe are made of Zinc. But not real sure. I'm almost positive they were originally used in a fountain because you can see inside the back where there was some bar soldiered to the inside of the mouth that would have helped hold a hose in their mouth. those bars are no longer inside the heads. I took some pretty detailed pictures, so I think you can tell what you're getting with these two great lion heads. If you have any questions please ask, and I'll do my best. They each measure 11 1/2" by 8 1/2" And they would stick out from the wall about 6" There are numerous layers of paint, but would strip off easily. There is a nail or screw hole in each ear to affix it to something. Thanks for looking.
