The top of the stand is 28.5" tall, 33" tall at the top of the raised towel bars, is 28.5" long across the back from bar to bar, and 18.75" wide front to back, including the trim. The bottom shelf has a small area at the far right front where it looks like the wood may have been broken and repaired, or at least cracked. I am unsure of the type of wood that the stand is made from, but it looks like Cherry to me.

The top has a small ornate silver plate for engraving the owner’s monogram. But it has never been engraved, although someone has lightly scratched their initials there. The hinges are intact and in fine working condition. The inside of the lid has a red velvet lining. Where the lid and box go together. It is lined with faux ivory. The caddy has two compartments with matching lids. The bottom of the box is covered with a dark covered floral embossed paper. The top. Back, front, and base of the box are sectioned off by silver flat wire. You can tell a lot of effort and highly skilled workmanship went into making this Tea Caddy of great quality for its time. This two compartment Tea Caddy sits on four round ball feet and measures a little over five inches high. About eight inches long, and about five inches wide. It weighs about 503 grams. Due to its great vintage age it does have condition issues. And could probably use a very good restoration from an expert. There are cracks on the top. Front, back, and sides. There are chips of material gone on the front. Base, sides, and back. Some of the flat silver sectioning wire looks bent and some looks to be missing. One of the hand engraved mother of pearl flower petals. Under the front lock plate, is missing. Both of the compartment lids have chips with material missing. And the compartment linings and lock mechanism are gone. The item might be used as your jewelry box if you did not want to restore it as a Tea Caddy. Technically, this is a hat or bonnet trunk, but many refer to them as half trunks as well. My wife actually purchased this some years back and it has been in my collection, but now it's time to make room for a"larger model" This trunk is actually a little smaller than a true"half" trunk, but it has all the hardware and adornments of the larger fancy dome tops. A rather stunning early 19th century table box in the fashionable chinoiserie style. The box is made of hardwood and comprises a detachable front panel which incorporates its original 19th century chinese brass lever lock. The panel is lacquered and gilt painted with figures in a garden setting interspersed with buildings. The detachable panel encloses an arrangement of seven drawers and an open recess. Each drawer with its own brass pendant handle in the chinese style and the bottom drawer with a secret escutcheon and lock. To the sides the box has a rich patina and two brass carry handles with handle rests beneath. The corners are bound with brass braces. Measures 50cm wide by 53 cm tall. Beautiful Antique c19th Coromandel Portugese Colonial Brass Strapped Chest & Key
A stately Portugese colonial influence 19th century chest. Hand chased brass strapping to each corner with a spectacular central brass escutcheon. Solid brass tear drop handles at either end and four spandrels in matching chased brass on the lid surface. I believe the carcass is oak. There being a great weight to cupboard, while the surface is finished in the highly collectible coromandel wood, with its unique striated grain. The front right door is secured by a hidden two lever lock. And comes with an associated early 19th key which works the lock comfortably. The left door is secured shut by a concealed brass sliding lock, inset in the rear base of the door. The large brass escutcheon spanning both doors anchors the right door over the left with a smart little beveled overhang. Good quality design in this piece. The interior is completely ... morecovered in coromandel wood and revealed by the two robust doors is an adjustable shelf which can be positioned in either the higher or lower slot as required. French dress trunk made by Aux Etats Unis. E. Deraisme, of Paris, France, circa 1900 to 1910. Original label inside lid! Special limited time offer! Beautiful collector's piece. A rare leather trimmed ladies dress trunk. With solid brass hardware, hardwood slats, striped canvas covering, and linen and silk lining. With the original interior tray with multiple compartments! The original owner's initials“M.A.M. and Boston, USA are painted on the trunk sides. This model trunk is extremely hard to find in any condition today. Only the high grade trunks had real leather trim and edging, all solid brass hardware and silk lining. Constructed of wood with leather edge bindings. Heavy canvas covering, solid brass slat braces, brass lock, latches, and rivets, and thick leather side handles. Two solid brass latches are on the front and work. ... moreThe marked lock is also of solid brass, no key is available. The interior is linen lined and contains the special fitted compartments made for shirts, shoes, and various other garments as well as umbrella straps. The four bottom wood slats are present as well as the heavy duty rollers. The trunk bottom is in very good condition, with zinc covering and hardwood slats. The brass hardware is all present and has not been highly polished, to preserve the aged patina. It could be polished if desired. The leather trim, corners, and handles are intact with typical signs of wear. The leather has all been treated with professional leather treatment polish. It is hard to find ornate trunk handles of this style that are still intact. The trunk is a great size for use as a table if desired. Condition notes: This trunk is in very good used condition. But there are signs of age and use which are typical for a trunk of 100 years or more in age. There are some minor issues I want to describe. The top of the trunk has a couple splits or cracks in the canvas, which are not visible from all angles. The cracks are filled and glued and are not very large or very noticeable. Beautiful Antique Alligator Tin Dome Top Trunk Very nice mid-sized dome top trunk from the 1880's. This trunk has been 100% professionally restored and is absolutely beautiful. The original alligator tin still remains and has been cleaned. Polished, and preserved with several coats of stain and Tung oil topcoat finish. The stamped tin hardware has all been polished with a wire wheel and really looks nice against the oak slats that surround the body. The oak slats were all cleaned and sanded with steel wool giving the wood a smooth, almost soft feel and a very rich, warm color. The black trim was cleaned with a wire wheel to remove and surface rust or imperfections, then painted with 1 coat of metal primer and 3 coats of flat black paint. The flat black is a great contrast against the semi gloss finish of the Tung oil on the slats and ... moretin. Very solid trunk all around, nicely built, hinges are strong, all hardware is included. The handles have been replaced with new 3-ply leather for many more years of life. The interior of this trunk is second to none and in my opinion is the best you'll find in the marketplace. A friend of mine does most of my trunk interiors. She's been doing trunks for 30+ years and her work is exceptional. The hardware and metal banding has all be cleaned and polished with a wire wheel and really looks nice against the oak slats and pine body. The top has a slight dome to it so this is not a true flat top trunk. Very solid trunk all around. Heavy wood construction, thick metal banding, hardware, and accents. Very nicely built, hinges are strong, all hardware is included. This trunk has more decorative hardware than your typical trunk from this period and the"fingers" that wrap all the corner edges really add a nice touch. Beautiful Completely Restored Embossed Metal Antique Toy or Doll Trunk
This Toy trunk is a great size at 14" long. 9" wide, and 10" high. Three wide, grooved hardwood slats on top. Working lock with key, and embossed leather handles. Completely restored interior that duplicates the original design. Now on to the metal. The embossed metal covering has been restored to its original finish. This is NOT Gold paint! The process I used was the same as was done in the late 1800's. The finish is a clear Shellac that has been tinted with Red and Yellow tints derived from the spices Spanish Annatto, and Turmeric. This translucent coating is applied to the polished metal that produces a dramatic and very unique look. Once again this is a level of restoration you will not find from any trunk re-finisher. REDUCED Beautiful Antique Vanderman Stong Box/Trunk/Chest - Nicest you'll find!
Beautiful Antique Vanderman Strong Box This is an 1897 Vanderman Strong Box which has been professionally restored and is in absolutely beautiful condition. It was made by the Vanderman Mfg. Co. of Willimantic. Conn. and patented July 13, 1897. Vanderman manufactured these boxes in several different sizes, many of which were used as tool chests and by the construction trade. It is made of 1/16" steel which was formed into a rectangular shape and on the top, sides, and bottom are solid oak wood staves/slats riveted to the steel. The corners have custom fit steel reinforcing at every outside edge point. There is a Vanderman brass plaque at the lower center of the front panel. Additional locking mechanisms are in each of the two upper corners of the lid and body wherein railroad style locks were used to secure bolts which are no longer ... morepresent. The original bolts are not included, but I am including two replica bolts, similar to the originals, that can be used to"lock down" the top. The bolts are hex head cap screws in 304 stainless steel and have been given a black oxide finish to match perfectly. There is a large handle on each end which features a stop mechanism that doesn't allow the handle to go beyond a 90 degree position so that no hands could be crushed due to the excessive weight which this kind of box typically held. Unfortunately, the original lock is not included. The oak slats are all in excellent condition and the wood tone of the oak is really impressive. All the steel rivets have been polished and look great against the oak. Matching the rivets that also hold the box together. The body of the box has been polished clean with a wire wheel and is smooth to the touch. There are a few minor dents/dings, but nothing major. Several of the photos turned out a little dark. The body of the box is not painted in any way, but rather has a sort of gunmetal gray/steel look and pictures#2 and#3 are best representative of the body color. The Clinton Wall Trunk was made by the Clinton Manufacturing Company, located in Clinton, MA. Clinton used a special patented hinge on both ends of the trunk which allowed the trunk to be placed directly against the wall and still fully open. Embossed tin covers the body of the trunk in a grape leaf/grapevine pattern. The interior of the trunk matches beautifully with the outside and has been professionally installed for many years of use and storage. The original matching tray is included. Beautiful Refinished Antique Dome Top Trunk with Working Lock and key. Here at Trunks-n-treasures we take pride in the trunks that we refinish. We have refinished hundreds of trunks. Each one with the craftsmanship that we have learned from growing up around our grandparents watching them run and refinish furniture in their antique shop. This particular trunk is a very nice, clean refinished dome top steamer trunk from the late 1800's. To begin refinishing this particular trunk we took all the paper off from the inside. We then removed some of the metal from between the slat boards to expose the wood underneath. This gorgeous trunk is made up of pine wood with oak slats. Once we removed the metal we sanded all the wood and then applied tung oil to it as a finish. After much research we have found that tung oil works best because it replenishes ... morethe wood and prevents it from drying out so quickly. On this trunk are two new Amish leather handles. The latches on this beautiful trunk also work to keep the lid secure. The latches have the patent date of July 9, 1872. The lid of this particular trunk also has the original manufacturer label in great condition. Also on the lid there is trunk stay to keep the lid open when wanted. The lock for this trunk comes with two working keys. The fancy metal hardware on this trunk has also been repainted by hand in black and gold leaf. As in any trunk of this age there are a few signs of wear but that is to be expected. The interior of the trunk is very clean. We have also made a tray to fit the inside of this trunk so you have two levels of storage. Dropping down to the bottom of the trunk we have also applied tung oil to the bottom to give it a new refinished look along with painting the metal black. I found three patent date on the latches of July 1873& May 1878. On the lock the patent date is May 1876. which makes this neat old humpback as much as 136 years old- a true antique. This trunk was structurally sound when the restoration started and the metal bottom is solid. Has multiple coats of clear, two original slats, four original metal wheels and the trunk rolls easily. RARE 1880's Antique Clinton Wall Steamer trunk- All Original and Beautiful!
Very rare and in amazing condition. Clinton Wall trunks are a rare find and sought after by collectors. Look them up to check for more on eBay and for outside pricing. the trunk measures 28 inches in length. 20 inches high and 17 inches width. The special Clinton hinge was made so that the trunk can be opened without being pulled away from the wall like all the other trunks at the time. It is covered with pressed tin and is in ORIGINAL CONDITION! This alone makes it an unusual find. Typically these pieces are rusted. Filthy or worse, painted. The interior of the trunk is ODOR FREE and still has the original lining and lithograph. The lock appears to be functional and I'm trying to find a matching key for it. If I do, I'll send it with the trunk. The hardware is all intact and all four caster wheels are securely attached and functioning. ... moreIt has a cool patent date on the hinge of Feb. 14th. 1880 and has the name and tags of a long ago traveler both etched into the wood and attached to the sides(See pics of the top and side) that could be easily removed but I love how they look. I have cleaned the trunk up. Given it a nice tung oil coating to keep it in good condition as well as added new handmade leather trunk handles, as the old ones have long ago rotted away. The only new or replaced parts on this trunk are the handles and hand hammered nails I used to reattach the end caps on the new handles. It is without a doubt the nicest 100+ year old trunk I've ever seen. I'm setting a flat rate on shipping at $50. And will pay anything over that if it's within the continental US.
