Up for sale is this beautiful refinished antique flat top steamer trunk/victorian pirate chest with tray. It measures 28 1/2" long by 18" wide and 11 1/2" tall. The original canvas that wrapped this trunk has been removed and the wood was sanded. Stained then sealed with of spar urethane. The interior has been redone with a newer fabric liner at some point in this trunk's history- it has some wear and blemishes but overall it is in very good condition. Antique Miniature Doll Chest with Hankie Drawers Salesman Sample 12” High x 12” Wide x 6 ½“ Deep*It is darker than it looks in the photos. The finish has a darkened aged look– beautiful. This is a wonderful old piece- I believe it to be about 1920 It has 2 handkerchief drawers on the top. There are 2 drawers side by side and below those. 2 large drawers. The drawer pulls are wood. There grooves in the 2 small drawers and in the bottom drawers. On the sides of the chest. There are grooves again, nice detail. When it is upside down the bottom is the bottom of the last drawer. Only one side of the center drawer is dovetailed, it was easier and cheaper to make that way. The salesman had the one corner as an example to show his customers. Condition: Really very good. There are no splits in the outside wood. A couple of the drawers have wood ... moresplits(inside) The corner of the back right facing leg was broken off. But it looks like someone shaped it. This chest is in great vintage condition, with normal nicks, dings& marks from father time. Overall it presents quite nicely as you can see. Last year. April-June, I made a lot of eBayers very happy! I held a big sale of antique paintings and other items(over 100! from a large London mansion. Enthusiastic buyers won LOTS of wonderful family heirlooms for very little(see my 100% feedback! and came to pick them up from the house(a few minutes walk from London's Oxford Circus) I'd intended to move out and spent the rest of the year abroad. I'm now back in the UK and the place is(contrary to planning) still mine! So I'm back in the old house again, temporarily, and will be selling a few more things until my final move. Storage Chest/Trunk/Box"A grand old chest! ... moreFor years this has been a magical dressing up box! It's full of lots of antique costumes and accessories. Younger relations head straight for it when they visit! But it would be good as a blanket box or general storage. It's very tall and has a huge amount of space. It looks a bit more impressive than many similar items. Having some grand trimmings, almost armorial. The carvings on the front are very imposing and clearly of some age. This type of carving often surrounded a coat of arms, which may have been removed in years gone by. It also has some lovely brass lion's feet(which really need shining up…they'll look really good when polished! We believe the front of the chest is much old than the rest. It's not uncommon to have wooden furniture rebuilt over the years. Often when they suffer from woodworm or general wear. One of the four rosettes on the front isn't there(I've only just noticed this, after all these years! It's dark wood, so you don't really notice. You would have to look hard to find a better restored origianl Genny Lind stagecoach trunk. This mid 1800s trunk has had a great restoration including new leather straps and buckles on the outside. Lovely quilted interior. And beatiful restoration of the tooled leather covering. And it does not smell! On the interior it still sports the wood restraining flap that would allow you to fill that side of the trunk and then close it without everything falling out. See the last 2 photos Petite size approximately 20" long. 13.5" wide and 9" deep. A kind and knowledgeable ebayer just added this info. the actual name for one of these is a valise. It measures 36 inches long by 24 in ches tall with the lid closed by 20 inches deep. It features a remova ble storage tray and more linens. Beddings. And clothing can be placed underne ath for conv enient additional hu ge storage. It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side ... morelocking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. Antique Scottish Folk Art miniature chest of drawers box circa 1860
A box. Made to look like a Scottish full sized chest of drawers, with columns down the front. The kind of chest of drawers that used to be called a"Scotch chest" The drawers don't open. The top lifts up to reveal a plain box. Very much a one off. Made perhaps as a present and very much in the Folk Art tradition. Each part is homemade- you can see the whittle marks on the feet and even the handles have been made for this piece. Brass hinges and lock plate were bought. The rest is all individual. Approximately 27cm x 21.6cm across the top. Height- 24cm. A pleasing size. Condtion- It has at some point had a bad bash to the base. Which has knocked one of the feet off and it has been glued on again. It is old, old glue and could be done again much better with modern glues and not show. At the same time, you can see in the photo, ... morea crack appeared in the base at the back. The sides have been decorated with a shaped overlay. On one side three pieces are missing, on the other two. I would say this could easily be fixed without too much trouble and also could be ignored quite easily! The hinge works well and closes and opens and the front, the decorative part has all its knobs and drawers etc. The starting price reflects the damage and it is still a really fun thing. LARGE ANTIQUE SOLID OAK TRUNK OR BLANKET CHEST OR COFFEE TABLE OR TOY CHEST
This is a very clean large oak trunk that has a variety of uses such as a blanket chest. Toy chest, or wonderful coffee table. It is made of solid oak with the original finish that has a nice patina and is finished on all sides including the back. The inside of the trunk has been painted red but can be stripped back to the natural oak. The trunk is 48" wide, 22" deep, and 24 1/2" tall. There is a piano hinge that opens the top. There is a lock but I do not have the key. The trunk was originally on rollers. One of the blocks under the trunk that holds the roller insert is damaged but is easily repairable if rollers are prefered. Email with any questions. It stands 33” tall and the top surface measures 40-1/2” wide and 19” deep. The top drawer front is 6” x 34-1/2” and the lower two drawer fronts measure 8” x 34-1/2” The paint is not recent. Probably from the 1960’s or earlier and it shows a little wear(crazing& cracks) as you may be able to see in the pictures. There is a ring from a can being set on the top. This is an exceptional antique period American Tiger Maple Chest of Drawers in a Queen Anne form. It measures 72.5 inches in height. The top measures 39x18 inches. The top and base appear to be a marriage with the top being older then the base. The drawer fronts have a pronounced Tiger Maple and the color of the chest is that honey golden brown that is most sought after. The top appears to be a period piece from the early 1800s. The base appears to be more custom made which might be made 50 years ago, it is hard to tell. From looking at the front and sides you would never tell it was a marriage but when you open up ... morethe drawers on the base you can tell they dont have the same age as the top. Due to the size of this piece it either needs to be picked up here on Cape Cod or it must be shipped freight at the cost of the purchaser. French Empire Mahogany Marble Top Commode Chest Dresser with Gilt Mounts c. 1805

Description: This listing is for a 19th Century French Empire Period Mahogany Marble Top Ormolu Mounted Commode. Circa 1805. It is a fascinating work of art, constructed in three parts- first the marble, which is extremely heavy at just over an inch thick(1 1/16" thick) the top of the chest with the top drawer, and the bottom of the chest with the lower three drawers. Lifting the marble reveals the construction of the topmost portion. Each of the front corners with a full gallery of hand cut dovetails that lock the top into the thick corners. All of the secondaries are solid oak, joined with large pegged tenons along the frame, this large thick top joining the lower case with thick through-tenon wedged mortise joints- by ... morepulling out the wedge, the tenon drops out of the top portion, freeing it from the lower case. This lifts away from the case as long as the columns are not nailed at the top. The top drawer features the most incredible gilt ormolu mounts. Cast with stunning attention to even the smallest detail. Horizontal curled anthemions flank a seated angel, inscribing in a blank scroll. With wings furled behind, detailed even down to the tiniest feather, the angel rests with legs slightly bent as the robe flows from his legs, a trumpet peering out from behind him. Over either columnar support, gilt ormolu mounts of angels flank the top drawer, the figure on the right peering towards the sky with a globe behind him, the angel on the left sitting on a carefully crafted French Empire chair reading a scroll. The turned columns on either side rest on square plinths. Capped at the top and bottom with gold gilt flamed mounts, finely detailed throughout. Three drawers slide in and out of the case, each hand dovetailed front and back with solid oak secondary woods making up the frame and bottoms. This antique steamer trunk has no identifying information; however. We believe it is from the 1800's. The trunk measures approximately 38" long x 26" high x 22.5" wide when closed. It is a fabric-covered chest with wooden ribbing and what would appear to be additional leather stripping. It also has metal corners and hardware. Our trunk is in need of repair and restoration. The lock is missing and the hinges in the back of the trunk require attention. The top must be held open so it does not fall back. The inside of the trunk shows signs of age and wear. Fine English Chippendale Mahogany Kneehole Desk c. 1740-60 Originality preserved throughout in the hardware and feet- Only the desk is being offered in this listing. The chair shown is offered elsewhere in our collection Item# 110105PII25 This is a remarkably preserved English Chippendale Period Kneehole Desk. Circa 1740-50. It is crafted of well figured solid single boards of Mahogany on the top and sides- there is no veneer on this desk, just solid boards of full grain mahogany. A simply molded edge runs the perimeter of the top, each corner scalloped. Each drawer is hand dovetailed front and back, with thin oak frame construction and thin oak drawer bottoms- all drawers are fully original and lack any adjustments and restorations to the secondary construction. Glowing hand forged brass hardware ... moreadorns each drawer. Appearing to have never been removed from the piece. Inside each drawer, as well as the tiny door in the kneehole area, silver metal locks are secured and functional. Each lock appears to be original, each uniquely cut on the right hand corner for all small drawers- it would appear the craftsman was presented with the challenge of making the lock of his choice fit the small space in conjunction with the pull hardware, and overcame this but cutting the corners of each lock. Hand made screws are visible throughout the lock hardware. While we cannot say for certain if the key is original, it is of the period, hand made and very similar in metal color to that of the locks. Each drawer is lip-molded and slides flawlessly in and out of the desk. Just below the top drawer is a secret drawer compartment. Appearing to be part of the frame design, but actually pulls outward smoothly as an extra hand dovetailed drawer. It is in"as found" condition. The deerskin is rough and the pieces of leather that hang off the sides are rather dry. Side handles appear to be original and in good condition. Antique Primitive Pine Lift Top Trunk Painted Green Tool Chest Country Folk
Antique green lift top chest. Classic primitive or country style. It looks like it was made from pine and has a basic six-panel construction. The top is made from three framed boards with a raised piece on top. Iron side handles and a molded base. Paint looks original or at least very old. Interior has sections for holding things in the front and stepped sides to hold boxes up. There are also strips of gathered leather attached to the top that may have been for tools and a cut-out"L" shape that may have held a carpenter's square. So it seems likely that this trunk was probably a tool chest at some point. Trunk probably dates from the late 19th or early 20th century. Overall. This piece is in good condition, however there is obvious wear as you can see from the pictures. There also appears to be some water damage to the finish ... moreand some water stains inside the trunk lid. The H hinges and side handles both show sign of rust, but are in solid condition and sturdy. The chest stands is 18" tall and measures 34.5" long and 22" wide. Refinished Dome Top Victorian Steamer Trunk Antique Chest With Interior Tray
Nice Refinished Antique Dome Top Steamer Trunk With Interior Compartment Areas and Interior Tray Here is a really nice refinished dome top steamer trunk or travel trunk from the mid to late 1800's. This beautiful hump back chest is made up of poplar and pine base wood with oak outer slat boards. Here are the dimensions: from left to right across the front is 28 1/2 inches. From floor to top is approximately 24 1/2 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 18 1/2 inches. The wood has been finished with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. The wood is in it's natural patina or color which is a medium reddish brown. This trunk has a nice unique pair of original front latches that are patent dated and do work. They are"Patented July 1, 73" referring to 1873. These latches have a tab at the bottom that you flip back and forth ... moreto engage or disengage the latch. The lock is original to this trunk. It is brass. So we have semi polished it. Unfortunately, we have not been able to match up a key for this lock. The side handles have been replaced with Amish made black leather stitched straps which are sturdy. Going to the interior of this trunk, it has two nice features which are under the dome. One is the compartment at the left. We have remade the drop door to this compartment and added a nice picture to this door. At the right under the top is the original small compartment which may have held people's smaller belongings. If you look at the close up pictures, you will see the lids being held open to give you an idea of how these work. The picture above the small compartment is original. It portrays a gap in a mountain. We are not sure where of where this area is that is portrayed in the picture or sketch. We have also made a tray that rests at the top where the original one once did. The interior wood and tray have received two coats of polyurethane. The interior bottom has a stress crack or two running through it which is quite typical for these older trunks. Other than that, the interior is in

Rare Early 19th Century NY State Albany County Decorated Blanket Chest
You are bidding on a rare early 19th century Albany County Blanket Chest in its original paint and decoration. You just don’t see these around anymore. And this is a nice one. The case is all nicely dovetailed, and the inside houses a till with a dovetailed drawer underneath it. It is all painted all the way around with the front and two sides retaining most of the original graining as well as the hand done decoration of swags and tassels in mustard paint. Also the large letters“L.G. in the center of the front. Paint on the top is worn and the two sides are missing a part of the molding on top. Also there are two old repairs on the back of the top where the hinges had broken out. All repairs were done with the original wood. All that being said this is a real beauty! Antique Carpenter's Chest This dove-tailed. Original, mixed-wood antique chest is in very good condition. Dovetailed trays are included. There are also built-in tool pockets. The trays are intact and sturdy. The chest measures aproximately 26" deep. 26" high, and 42" long. There are 4 wrought-iron handles. 2 in front and 2 in back, which are used to pick up the chest. The bottom locking mechanism insert is present. The top part of the lock is missing. There are hole openings in the top where the lock and handles could have been. This is a great item for collectors as well as for use by a carpenter or as a storage antique. This item is heavy and large. So local pick-up only is requested. Old Iron Lock & Key for Antique Pine/Oak Blanket Box/Chest/Trunk/Coffer
Here for sale is an old iron lock with its original working key suitable to use on an old pine blanket box or trunk. It measures 3 1/2 inches wide. 2 1/2 inches high and 3/4 inch depth. The measurement from the top face to the centre of the key is 1 1/4 inch. The key measures 2 5/8 inches long. The main body of the lock housing the workings is 7/16 inch thick. The top face is 3/4 inch. Please note. The receiver isn't the original to the lock. It fits fine but when locked it doesn't lock tight. I have taked a picture of it upside down to show the small gap when locked.

1860's Spool Carved Transitional Empire Chest This item is ready to use as is or spruce up to your liking! There is some wear at all edges from everyday use. It is beautifully grained Cherry exterior with Heart Pine secondary. The pull knobs appear to be original to the piece. There is small amount of chipping of veneer framing surround top to bottom scrolled skirt which is typical for age.
