I found this Large Cast Aluminum Horse at an estate sale. They didn't know where it came from other than it was their Parents. It looks like it was attached to a weathervane and broke off. I tried to find one like it online but I could not. It is 19 1/2 inches long by 8 1/2 inches high and weighs 1 5/8 pounds. The number stamped in the back looks like 100023. Primitive Vintage Antique Weather Vane Rooster From the estate of a local antique collector. This is a nice Rooster Weather Vane. Nice decorative rooster, made from copper that has developed a nice aged green patina. He is standing on an arrow and there is a pole that extends downward to attach it to a pole. He is in good vintage condition, the feather on the arrow has separated from the shaft about 3/4 of the length, but it still remains attached. This is a wonderful vintage weathervane of a sulky with rider. Trotting horse. It is all copper and brass with great original patina. This F o lk Art weather vane dates to the 19th century. Copper forms are soldered together and the figures are hollow. This is a very large piece. The measurements are 31"W x 16.5"H. One wheel is missing a spoke and two spokes are loose on one end. I can see no other areas that need repair. This has been in a private collection for over 20 years. I do not know the original area that it came from. We had it appraised 10 years ago And the value was $10.000. We had every intention of using it. But never did as we own horses so, of course, our weathervane is of a horse. It has been stored in our garage since gifted and now needs to find a suitable home. Neat Old and Original Circus Horse Weathervane and Blue Milk Glass Quilt Lightning Rod Ball. Weathervane is called a Circus Horse vane because it has a belly band around the horse's middle. Weathervane is hollow bodied and made in the 1915-20's. The horse is tim metal and the front arrow is old cast iron. Weathervane measures 33 inches long. Horse measures 14 inches long.10 inches tall and about 1 1/8 inches thick. This weathervane style was very popular way back then for the roofs of Barns and old Victorian Homes. Horse was large enough to be easily seen from some distance. This one fit over a 5/8 common lightning rod-the most common rod. The blue milk glass"quilt" ball measures 5 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches tall. It will fit over the common rod or the more fancy twisted star rod. Both items look great together. Recent estate sale purchase. Bridport, Vermont. Purchased from one of our prime local vendors, we knew we just had to have this one. We do not know how old this one actually is. The few opinions we have had so far is 1940's but we honestly do not know as we are still novices in these type of items. Overall this piece measures 53" tall as mounted on the 1 1/2" wood base. The weathervane arrow measures 24" long. The rooster measures 19 1/2" tall x 15" long ... morex 3" thick. The body(including the head and the legs) appears to be two pieces of stamped copper(non ferrous? soldered at the seams. The tail is a flat piece of stamped metal soldered on to the body. The rooster is soldered on to the tubular arrow. The rooster does lift up and off the mount. With the exception of the two balls, one just below the arrow and the other below the directional markers, the remainder of this item is iron. The directional arrows are fastened to a tubular shaft with set screws. These are moderately rusted and weathered. This tubular shaft is threaded on to a round small mounting base plate which is fastened to the wood base. Very good overall condition showing atypical age related patinas, wear, corrosion, etc. We see a small spot on one of the arrow tail feathers detaching from the shaft and may need new solder or epoxy. We see the small two halved copper ball has a tendency to want to separate when not under pressure of the rooster pressing down on it. Another solder or epoxy fix. Vintage Rare Tall (65") Copper Lightning Rod w/ Stand
Vintage Rare tall lightning rod measuring approximately 65" Very hard to find rods of this height) Copper base. The tip seems more silver in color as the base has some of the green patina that copper gets from oxidation so I am not sure what this is made of. There is a tri-pod type stand with 2 rings where the base of the rod slips through(probably steel which has rusted) with holes in each end of the tri-pod for screwing into the top of the barn/house. The very tip of the arrow tip is very slightly bent and the rod itself seems to have a slight bend to it as well.

Antique Vintage Old Large Copper & Brass Weathervane Running Horse Weathervane
This is a beautiful old weathervane. The horse. Directional arrows, and decorative balls appear to be copper. The 3 demensional items are hollow. The horizontal bar under the horse appears to be some other material possibly brass. The verticle rod(black) seems to be steel or iron. I do not know the age, I aquired it at auction in the 80's and thought to add it to a cupola on the barn. This many years later it's still in the garage. This is a very large item and will come disassembled. I'm not sure that I have it assembled correctly but it seems to work. Overall assembled demensions are appx. 45" tall and 31" wide. The Horse is almost 28" wide nose to tail and appx. 13 1/2" tall. There are two decorative balls. It's very well made has a sleeve where the Centaur shooting the arrow rest. There are 12 bearings that helps the figure turn with a light wind(see pic) Very Nice shape and one of a kind. Here is a delightful vintage 30-40's wooden house shaped weathervane that is marked MADE IN ITALY. It measures about 6 1/4" high x 7" at the widest and looks to be all wood with very detailed work. It has the look of a chalet style house with kitchen at the first level. And the two figures at the top. On the back it has directions for telling the weather and is in overall good condition, just shows some normal age wear.The only thing that I see that it needs is that it had a little wire or string hooked onto the"couple" and it's missing or off, should be easy to replace, not really sure if it's needed. This weathervane was removed from our victorian home in Hastings. NE. the home was built in the late 1880's. It is made of Copper and has a lovely patina as you can see. The base has three holes for easy installation. It spins very easily. The vane is COMPLETE! The horse measures 13" The arrow 19" overall height is 20" I try to describe my auction as fairly as I can. Not an expert just getting rid of many things we have had for years. The very tip of the arrow is missing and that is the only flaw that I know of in this weathervane. Large Vintage 1920s FOLK ART Metal GIRL IN GARDEN WATERING Weathervane
Description ANTIQUE/VINTAGE GARDEN GIRL WEATHERVANE Charming vintage metal silhouette style weather vane measuring 19-1/4" long and almost 9" tall. Featuring a woman in bonnet and period clothing holding a huge watering can with long spout- stylized water pours though the head and quenches several blooming flowers. Metal appears to be either brass or copper- it has a dark patina from age. And it's hard to tell- vane is sturdy and non-pliable- cut outs are mounted into a rather crudely rolled tube base that is held together by three screws- there is a hole in the tube middle bottom for mounting on a vertical stand(no longer present) small holes are pierced in the flower heads and on top of the bonnet. I believe this is a home project, made circa 1920- condition is very good with no bends, breaks or damage other than normal patina ... moreto the metal and although it appears as if a side is missing from one flower, it was made that way- edges are all smooth from age. Just a charming large silhouette image of a woman in her garden- purchased in Ohio, I've had it hanging on the wall for years, but it could easily be mounted for display as a weather vane. These old insulators are 1 7/8 inches high and have a 1 inch hole inside and a 1 1/2 inch outside diameter. They look to be clear or kind of a light yellowish in color. 2 of them have the knob to hold them in the stand and one of them has it broken off. Antique House Roof Lightning Rod Ball Glass National Electra White Milk Vintage
Antique Lightening Balls This auction is for a really nice pair of antique lightening rod balls made from a thin. Delicate milk glass. One of them is near pure white and it’s embossed National on the front. It has some damage to the top edge which is common on these pieces. The other has a purple tint that might just be from 100 years of sun exposure and it’s marked ELECTRA on the front. Has some minor chipping as well at the top but lots of times they were manufacture with those chips. Great set and guaranteed old. Measure about 4½" wide. Vintage Auth: Solid cast iron weathervane horse with Motion and makers mark
Antique Weathervane Horse. An old barn find.I believe to be the early 1900's or maybe later 1800's? I am not a weathervane expert so I am trying to present the best information I can.The entire weathervane is made of cast iron, since a magnet sticks to all pieces. This weathervane has a great finish from decades of exposure to the elements. Rain, sleet, snow, lightning, and birds. It measures 34" from the top of the horses head to the bottom of the base. The horse is 8"wide by 7"high, and the arrow is 12" wide. There is a makers mark on the bottom of the base but after a month of research, I still don't know who it belongs to. Farm fresh as they say! Just picked this up in Eastern Pennsylvania. Beautiful copper deer weathervane that comes with a pair of copper orbs. N.S.W.E copper directionals and a great iron mount that has a little rust on it like you'd expect. Deer on it's own measures 32" tall X 23 1/2" wide(Schaefer can in first pic for reference) All the pieces have a great patina on them as the pics show. Pictures 7 and 8 show both sides of the deer. VINTAGE ANTIQUE EARLY 1900s BRASS? ARROW WEATHERVANE. Dimensions: The weathervane stands 23" tall by 24" the diameter. The length of weathervane's arrow. It looks to be made entirely of brass but has oxidation over it. However, the fletching(where the feathers would be) is made of aluminium to catch the wind. I have seen another one of these on ebay before so I know the aluminum part is correct to the vane. There are four old bullet holes in the fletchings part of the arrow. This is shown in the photographs, as is some rust on the steel base mount. The arrow weathervane is in all original condition and came from an old farm building on the Eastern shore of Maryland. Vintage Weather Vane Directional Arrows with Roof Ridge Mount
This old weather vane is 24 inches tall from the bottom of the roof mount to the top. The directional arrows are 17 inches long. There is lots of discoloring and it has never been cleaned so I don't know what the metal is. The rod from the roof mount to the ball and arrows is rusted. The ball looks like copper and has a dent in on sideand its 4.5 inches circumference. Very heavy and so shipping will depend on zip code but arrangements can be made to pick it up.
