Most likely RailRoad, has old stickers from traveling from state to state but there hard to read do to being old, weathered and in poor condition. Has owners name painted on side of trunk and below name Cincinnati, Ohio. Inside has blue maker tag, most of the tag is missing. Trunk is in Fair to Good condition, trunk is solid with no wood rot, All the cast hardware is good, cast iron and brass lock, some of the cast iron hardware is ornate and of good quality for the time. Front latch locks have a midevil look. Missing one wheel but the caster that holds the wheel is good. Trunk has paint loss, scuffs and scratches, rips in material, rust ect. Measures approx. 38 3/4" wide x 23" tall x 22" deep. Flat top will make ... morenice rustic coffee table. Inside has one tray, seems little small, not sure if it goes with this trunk. Antique 1800's VICTORIAN WOOD & CAST IRON HUMP BACK STEAMER TRUNK- MAJESTIC!!
Up for bid is an extremely rare and beautiful 1800's VICTORIAN WOOD AND CAST IRON HUMP BACK STEAMER TRUNK. This is a old wood trunk that is very majestic in appearance. It is beautifully crafted of an inner wood body covered in beautiful black metal sheet. Fantastic wooden bumper panels on all sides, even more so fantastic cast iron metal work of every latch, hinge, and edge trimming throughout trunk(including bottom which has small cast iron wheels) One of my favorite parts of this gorgeous trunk is the original 1800's lock and latch, it absolutely beautiful. Inside of trunk is extremely spacious and has a very clear, bold original colored illustration of a beautiful Victorian era woman starring off into the distance. The trunk itself measures at 34 1/2" long. 20" wide and 23 1/2" tall, and is what I consider, a larger ... moretrunk. It has aging wear but it has fantastically aged, could be easily used for display or everyday use as well as it is very sturdy and well built. Only thing to repair is one rear hinge that has broken from where it attaches bottom of trunk to lid, but hinge bodies on both lid and bottom are firmly attached to trunk with no damage, it is very fixable as it is a clean break of the thin metal of latch(See pictures) I have given a very accurate description of this astonishing steamer trunk and I have provided pictures of all angles for your viewing and bidding certainty. Antique Strongbox Cast Iron Safe Original Hidden Lock
Beautiful antique. A bit rough inside as shown, but a solid top to bottom iron strongbox. Heavy, I estimate about 40 pounds, will ship this by UPS Ground. Measures 17 inches by 13 inches by 14 inches, box measurement, not including handles. I was told this was from a Stagecoach when I found it. Castle like look to this, great original rust and aged outside. One of the top nobs moves and pops up the middle one to show the keyhole. Middle nob has a spring like mechanism to it and just pushes down and holds until side nob is moved. No key and lock mechanism has what is shown in photos.
