Berkley Lightning Shock Rod 7' med heavy action
Up for sale is a L IGHTLY used Berkley Lightning Shock. It is 7' Med Heavy Action. Fireline 30-50 lb recommended. Trilene 10-25 lb recommended. Lure weight 1/4- 1 1/4. The rod is mainly orange with gray and black. There are 7 rod eyes and a hook keeper. A split grip handle. There may be a few scuffs just due to transpo rt of the rod in the boat. I have honestly used this rod only 5 or 6 times. I just don't have the time to go or use this rod. Most of the time it is ultra light rods with my 3 year old. 4 1/2" Silver merc plain round lightning rod ball. This ball has 1" caps that are threaded onto the tube. One of the caps has some splitting as pictured. The mercury coating is close to 100% with typical haze. No chips or cracks in the body of the ball. Overall condition is very good.

Antique Purple Glass Lightning Rod Ball / Moon and Star / Goshen Co.
Being offered is one antique glass lightning rod ball made by the Goshen Lightning Rod Company dating back to the early 1900's. It is amethyst in color with a moon and star pattern and measures approximately 4 1/4 inches across and 5 inches end to end from the collars(openings measure 7/8" inside diameter) There is some light chipping and rough edges on the collars which is quite common on antique lightning balls. Black scorching is visible but overall in great condition for its age. Amethyst in the moon and star pattern is hard to come by. Here is an opportunity to acquire one. Neat Old and Original Circus Horse Weathervane and Blue Milk Glass Quilt Lightning Rod Ball. Weathervane is called a Circus Horse vane because it has a belly band around the horse's middle. Weathervane is hollow bodied and made in the 1915-20's. The horse is tim metal and the front arrow is old cast iron. Weathervane measures 33 inches long. Horse measures 14 inches long.10 inches tall and about 1 1/8 inches thick. This weathervane style was very popular way back then for the roofs of Barns and old Victorian Homes. Horse was large enough to be easily seen from some distance. This one fit over a 5/8 common lightning rod-the most common rod. The blue milk glass"quilt" ball measures 5 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches tall. It will fit over the common rod or the more fancy twisted star rod. Both items look great together. ANTIQUE ORNATE IRON ARROW Measures 22.75" long. There are no breaks. Cracks, or repairs to this fancy old arrow. An eBay search shows me it looks just like a Kretzer but I don't see the name where it usually is. See my last photo. Don't know if they were ever unmarked or if it could wear down that much? Unusual Old Glass Lightning Rod Topper. Orange Pendant - Lightning Ball
Now this is a very interesting glass lightning rod topper in bright. Transparent orange that has spent the last 25 years or so inside as part of a local store display. This finial. Or pendant, or topper is an unusual bright orange color, sort of a mix between orange and amber. The finish appears to be applied to the glass, not mixed into it, but it is in good condition and judging by the thickness and imperfections in the glass itself, I am pretty sure this is a fairly old piece. Burkett lightning rods
Three 16 3/4 inches long lightning rods. These came off of a very old dairy barn from a farm here in Virginia. I'm not sure of the age of these rods but they have a nice green to blackish patina on them and the bracketts are embossed Burkett System.Fremont. Ohio. I know Burkett started in the lightning rod business around 1870 or so and are still in business today. No cleaning has been done to these rods since they were taken off of the roof, so they still have some roof material on the brackets as well. The wire that connected the system together has been cut off at each bracket on the bottom of these three rods. Vintage Rare Tall (65") Copper Lightning Rod w/ Stand
Vintage Rare tall lightning rod measuring approximately 65" Very hard to find rods of this height) Copper base. The tip seems more silver in color as the base has some of the green patina that copper gets from oxidation so I am not sure what this is made of. There is a tri-pod type stand with 2 rings where the base of the rod slips through(probably steel which has rusted) with holes in each end of the tri-pod for screwing into the top of the barn/house. The very tip of the arrow tip is very slightly bent and the rod itself seems to have a slight bend to it as well.

Antique or Vintage. Kind of hard to date these, Lightning Rod/Weathervane. As you can see it has had it's years of use, the arrow does not rotate freely and will need a little work if you are intending to use this item, if not its a great piece of American art form from the past. Up for auction is a nice Hawkeye Lightning Rod Ball. This is a very light blue color. Almst white but not quite. Please view photos carefully. There are a few chips on the base of the ball rim and the top but are in overall good condition. These are over 100 years old so usually they have a few chips around the rim. See photos. The point has weathered nicely over the years and what is left is a great verdigris green patina that will display well. This point was made from solid brass. Or bronze. There was some hunks of tar on the base and up the side of the point. The nickel was intact under the tar when I dissolved it with acetone.
