LATE 19th CEN. BRASS BOUND LEATHER TRUNK-BEAUTIFUL PATINA& EXCELLENT CONDITION This beautiful English leather trunk. Dating to the late 19th century, would make an excellent end table. The trunk is covered with brown leather which has a beautiful warm patina. It is bound with brass corners and corners straps, and has brass handles with large backplates on each side. The front has two brass locks and latches. The front and both sides each have a row of copper studs running between the corner straps. The hinged lid opens to a fabric lined interior. The trunk measures 22"w x 20"h x 20"d. Condition: Aside from minor wear. Rubbing and small stains to the leather, the trunk is in very good-excellent condition. I had to have an English country chest for this spot. I have it in a corner with a TV on the top. It came to me with the cracks you see and hasn't gotten any worse in my house. The drawers work. But not that smooth to pull in and out. It is really pretty and charming. I paid $2000 for it in Kensington at the antique store that imports English chests. It is late 18th early 19th century according to them. The color is very nice, light. If you are interested, bid soon as I will be moving and will sell everything to an estate person or to an auction house.

Paul Romand, Paris Late 19th Century Steamer Trunk w/ Damier Canvas
The lock says Paul Romand. Paris and the street address. Research says that Paul Romand was a late 19th century maker of fine luggage and trunks. Apparently he worked at Louis Vuitton. This is a beautiful and functional steamer trunk. It is in very nice condition- best I can tell from my research it dates to 1892. I know that it was purchased by my husband at an estate auction in Greenwich, CT. In the early 1980's. It is nice as is but I am also aware that these can be restored to an amazing level and that the price for those who can afford it is well worth it as the appreciation is quantifiable! The trunk has original owner's name and city of residence on the end(pictured) as well as remnants of stickers or decals from travel. It has wheels and measures 36" long x 22" tall x 20" deep. I do not have the key. I know ... morehow much my husband paid in the early 1980's( almost $9,000) and I know that the trunks are in high demand. I am not a collector. I also have researched the other listings and this trunk appears to be as nice as any of them. I have no idea how much it will cost to ship the trunk so I will leave it to the buyer to arrange shipping or freight. I will be happy to get the trunk to the shipper. Very Rare late 18th to early 19th Century Wooden Travel Trunk
Here is an early dome top personal valise or travel trunk. The trunk is trimmed in leather with nail head accents and the interior retains a paper lining which states the maker as NATH’l B. March Portsmouth. The paper bears the date of 1810. While we were told the trunk shows earlier construction. There are leather interior straps with buckles for securing the packed items, and there is an iron lock with no key present. The domed lid has become separated from the rounded base.
