Each hand-carved from a single piece of solid mahogany wood. Both pieces originally came from a wardrobe door and are in very good and undamaged condition. The central motif on the square panel is a Green Man’s face surrounded by a symmetrical design showing strong hints of Art-Noveau design in the tulips and flowing lines. The ornamental crest depicts scrolls of a late 19 th century style but these were still commonly used up to the 1 st World War period. The cresting repeats the tulip motif. Material: Solid mahogany wood(each carved from a single piece) Finish: A coat of clear varnish had been applied at some point in time. ANTIQUE CARVED PEDIMENT CREST Striking antique Victorian carved walnut dresser. Mirror or bed pediment crest measuring 28-1/2" long, about 16" tall and about 1-5/8" deep at the thickest point. Featuring simple carved and stylized graduated arms on each side edge, center is finished with two incised leaves around a tiered floral mount- an applied crown or crest completes the top. The peak is pierce carved with a charming heart design- crest is made of two pieces that are block mounted with an overlap creating an almost three-dimensional effect. Small Fancy Primitive Antique Carved Wood Architectural Pediment Piece We traveled an hour and a half South into central Illinois for a football game this week. And I took the opportunity of going treasure hunting in the cornfields. I found a surprising variety– there’s something for everyone this week! Here is a lovely small antique wood pediment piece for you. It's fancy. Yet primitive shabby at the same time. In excellent solid and sturdy condition, it has very worn and chippy paint- you can see white under the current coat and honestly, it's so dirty, it's hard to tell if the current coat is tan, or if it's white and just covered with dirt and dust- please see my photos and what you think. It really needs a good bath, and I do not clean or mess with as found patina in any way. It measures 5" wide at the base, 4" ... morewidest at the carved wood top, 7 1/4" tall and 1 1/2" deep at the sides. It weighs just over 1/2 lb. It's solid, carved wood and it's beautiful. As you can see in my photos, the bottom is not painted on the front and back, and the sides of the base were never painted either. You can see one small hole on the front left- I am guessing it's from where/how it was mounted. The paint is very chippy and crackly and worn all over- yummy! GORGEOUS ANTIQUE LARGE SOLID WALNUT HAND CARVED FURNITURE PEDIMENT
Up for bid is a very large. Solid walnut, antique furniture pediment. Believed to be from the mid to late 19th century this beautifully hand carved pediment could be just the piece you've been looking for to compliment that project waiting in your shop. The pediment stands 25" high x just under 59" in length x 4-1/4" deep. There are a few minor chips, scuff areas or missing carving near the top, shown in the pictures as a lighter wood, probably a part that was recent damage, prior to my purchase. The lower portion as I show in the 11th picture, on the rear of the pediment, also has some minor damage, but it is on the back edge and less noticeable. The panels, with incised carved that flank the center carving, maybe a burled walnut veneer, so with a little light elbow grease, perhaps this piece after some clean up, could ... moreshow those panels off a little better. If you are looking for a large 19th century solid walnut furniture pediment to crown a piece of furniture, whether, antique or something you've created new and need just the perfect piece, not only do you want to look no further, but you also don't want to miss out bidding on this gem. Stunning Victorian Era 1800s Antique Carved Wood Pediment Over Mantel Mirror? We traveled an hour and a half South into central Illinois for a football game this week. And I took the opportunity of going treasure hunting in the cornfields. I found a surprising variety– there’s something for everyone this week! The best word to describe this one is AWESOME! I took one look at it. And it stopped my in my tracks. I don't know if it is a part from a piece of furniture, or an architectural piece- but my guess is latter. It looks like some type of small over mantel or maybe over a mirror or hall tree. It's a stunning fancy Victorian era pediment that will be yours to decide, though. made of solid wood with a very dark patina, it measures 21" widest, 7 1/2" deepest and 31" tallest at the center of the top decoration- that's ... moremeasuring on the farthest spots of the outside walls. The inside(measuring on the inside walss of the front) opening is 16 5/8" wide 4 7/8" deep front to back at the lower unadorned half, amd 18" tall from the bottom of the feet to the"ceiling" on the inside top. It weighs a smidge under 8 lbs. It's in excellent solid and sturdy structural condition- with tongue and groove construction that you can see at the back- this is a quality piece. At the front bottom half, if you look at photos 10& 11, you can see two small nail holes on either side- so it was clearly mounted to or behind something on that lower half. The good news is that it stands on its own as it is- as you can see in my photos, and also that it's stained the same color there- although not varnished, I don't believe, but because of the stain, it really does not stand out to me- see what you think in my photos. The finish is in overall nice shape- with some scratching and scraping. There's a 4" long light shallow scratch the top left that you can see in photo 8. There's some other smaller scratches there too. That's the worst of it as far as the front/show

This wonderful architectural piece is a beautifully carved reverse mold for creating a delicate plaster molding suitable for decorating walls. Mantles, etc. Beautiful, deeply hand carved flowers and designs run the length of the mold in perfect precision. Created by a craftsman of great skill, this mold is absolutely beautiful and survives from the era of Classical embellishment of fine interiors. This mold is particularly beautiful, in its original state with a deep, rich, naturally aged patina. It feels wonderful to the touch, smoothed from centuries of handling. It has some small, expected areas of damage to the intricate carvings, also some normal age related cracks and chips in the hardwood frame, but nothing significant. Antique Carved Wood Overdoor. Pediment Animal Forms: first of all this piece was hard to photograph as it is supposed to sit under the soffit of an armoire or mantle. It can also be used as an overdoor or pediment. The hand carved piece is made of dark hardwood, possibly mahogany. The entire piece is carved and has a bat like shape in the middle and two reclining animals on either side. The piece has been around for well over 100 years and has some minor abrasions in the front and nail holes in the top and back. Measurements are: 51 1/4" by 4 3/4" highest point and 3/4" thick.

Description This is a great piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It is made of oak and is currently painted white. It was originally the crown to a built in wardrobe. The shelf at the top is trimmed in reel and bead molding. The breast has repeating festoons with flowers. It measures 63.5 inches by 8 inches and is 3.5 inches thick. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good scrubbing but will clean up nicely. The right side has return moldings. The left side does not. There is some wear and small chips but the worst is the curl on the left end is missing(see last picture) The crest is about 9" long and 3 1/2" tall. The piece is about 2" wide. The pegs are 4 1/8" on center. The portion where the pegs are is indented 1 7/16" The crest is being sold as found. Description This is a nice piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian home. It is made of oak and is currently painted. It was originally part of a built in armoire. The ends have ornate moldings. The center is framed by 2 corbels with a nice carved embellishment in between. It measures 43 inches wide without the end pieces. It is 9.75 inches tall and is 3.75 inches deep. Overall it is in good co ndition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. ANTIQUE ARCHITECTURAL PANEL PIECE - HAND CARVED - FROM ENGLISH MANOR HOUSE
This is a wonderful hand carved panel or decorative pediment style piece. I do not know the exact age. But I know it was part of an old English Manor home that was deconstructed. Its' paneling and other"Old English" architectural elements were applied to a home in Kansas City Missouri. This is an extra piece that was not used in the home. It measures approximately 20" in length by about 6 3/4" at its' widest width and is 1" thick. There is a modern hanger attached to the back-as it has been hung for decoration. ANTIQUE HAND CARVED WOOD ARCHITECTURAL FRETWORK -FROM AN ENGLISH MANOR HOME
For your consideration is a marvelous hand carved wooden architectural piece from England. A gentleman in Kansas City Missouri brought over carved panels and fretwork from England(apparently one or more deconstructed Old Manor homes) and applied them to his own unique home. It was like stepping back in history! This particular piece(most likely due to the breakage) was a leftover that was not used in his home. It is approximately 13 3/4" by 8" by 3/4" at the longest widths. It is roughly carved and has a whimsical quality. The wood has been stained dark-almost an ebony. But I could not say for sure if it was truly"ebonized" at any time. I do not know the age, but I do know it is very old. At least 100+ years(minimal) I would guess it much older than that, but I have no way of knowing. This piece looks lovely by itself, ... morebut could be creatively re-purposed! Beautifully carved Walnut Furniture Door Pediment. This has been in my private collection for over 20 years. I call this my"French Fleur de Lis" Pediment since it has a similar design. Hangs great over doors or as an attachment to other furniture. Pediment is in great shape for it's age. Solid without repairs. Wood has a nice smooth matte sheen. I only use lemon oil to preserve the nature wood finish. Conditions: Wood damage on the back(Photos# 8#9) Small crack on top(10) Neither of which detach from it's wonderful craftsmanship. Both are hardly visible when hung since they are on the backside and top. Small holes in back to hang& small holes on each end to attach to furniture. Pediment measures 50" Long by Almost 7" Tall by Almost 1" Deep. Home is smoke and pet free so your pediment will arrive clean. ... morePest and critter free. I have tons of pediments in my collection that I will selling in the next couple of months, the larger ones for pickup only in the Chicago Market.
