It has 3 hidden compartments and lots of pigeon holes and small drawers. It comes with the keys for the upper hutch. The fold down desk and the small door inside but not the drawers below. It has the original glass, which is wavy and has bubbles in it, in both panels on the left side but not on the right side. One pane is missing on the right side but would be easy enough to replace. Lots of character on this gorgeous old piece. It measures 81 inches high, 47 inches wide and is 23-1/2 inches deep at the bottom. It comes apart in two pieces so the bottom part is 41-1/2 inches high, 47 wide and 23-1/2 deep and the top part is 39-1/2 inches high, 47 inches wide and 12 inches deep. This little trunk measures 15inches long by 8 inches deep and 8 inches high. ... moreThere was no tray with this trunk when found but one was built for it out of oak and poplar. The trunk itself is made from pine and is metal bound. All the metal has been hand burnished but enough of the patina has been left to preserve the antique character of the piece. The lock is an Eagle lock and the latches function but are no longer spring loaded. The trunk has been refinished in a golden oak stain with multiple coats of sealer both inside and out. The original covering has been left on the underside to give a sense of the original look. The trunk is in overall good shape but because it is over 100 yrs old there are dings. Dents splits and cracks but these are minor and add to the overall antique feel. It is a very well made solid little trunk that will last a lifetime if cared for. The hinges that holds the lid are in great shape with the exception of 1 that needs to be replaced. There is no key with this trunk. Orginal latches and lock on the front of trunk. The leather handles are new leather and replaced. There is a slight scrape in the metal on the back side of trunk but not noticable from front. The trunk has two leather handles on either side, three protective leather flaps on the lid, and hand formed zinc protected corners on all 4 corners. ... moreYou can still see some leather tool work on the strap closure and in the top corners. The trunk closes with a hand forged latch and a l eather strap and hand forged buckle. Some of the strap has worn off. But there is still a functional hol e for the buckle. The interior of the trunk is covered in cotton print and there is so utache br aid i nside the top for keeping letters and documents safe. There are two areas where I believe the hardware is not original: the back hinges and the two brass chains which hold the trunk open. I believe these were added during this century. Otherwise. E verything looks to be original. The base wood appears to be pine. But it's hard to tell. All of the nails, latches. And buck le are handm ade. Antique Pine Blanket Chest with Butternut Trim, circa 1800
Circa 1800 Wide Pine Plank Blanket Chest. Missing glove box, but enhanced with a Butternut moulding trim on the lid and skirting. The old milk blue paint makes this a very attractive large dovetailed original chest. The hinges,although correct from that period, are not the original set. The measurements are 18" tall, 20" in width and 46" in length. We are in Central NY, so unless you are willing to pay for crating, the only way to get this chest will be a mutual meeting. We are willing to travel to Albany or Binghamton or Utica areas for pick-up/delivery. If you are planning a visit to the Central NY during the summer months, we would hold the chest until then.

Circa.1800's Antique Slovakian chest/truck.wroght iron hinges.secret compartment
Thank You for checking out my items. Here we have an Antique Circa 1800's Slovakian Chest. This was purchased by an Antique dealer from a Slovakian Village years ago. The out side of the trunk is was painted years ago a couple times. The paint is worn now. There are dings/scratches and scuffs becacuse of the of the Age and it was being used in the village. There is a front"lock" but there is NO locking mechanism or key. I"believe" not certain the inside is Pine. There is a secret compartment that pulls up to reveal a drawer. There is a spot for a second drawer which is not there. The higes and hardware appear to be hand forged. There are feet added for decoration. Hand forged nails also. Antique Lebanon County, Pa., Painted Blanket Chest Spectacular Circa 1800
For sale we have a Pennsylvania Painted/Decorated Blanket Chest of dovetailed construction. With three drawers and flat bracket feet. The arched tombstone panels on both the top surface and the front panel are dappled in a dark blue/green hue with a sunburst design in each arch. The tombstone panels are surrounded by an eye catching sawtooth design. The drawer fronts are painted in the same blue/green color and have brass pulls. The overall background color of the chest is an earthy orange. The inside of the chest reveals the original till, hinges and jaw lock. Based on comparisons in Fabian's"The Pennsylvania German Decorated Chest" this piece appears to date from 1800 from Dauphin County which is now Lebanon County. We did not"clean up" the surface of this chest leaving it in"as found" condition. There ... moreis normal wear one would expect to see, a replaced center drawer pull, and one of the strap hinges is broken. The true beauty is under some dirt and grime and this will be an even more stunning piece if one wishes to restore it. The chest measures 50" wide x 24" deep x 26" tall. Antique Primitive Chest Trunk Wood & Tin Hand Decorated Circa 1800's
Antique primitive hand painted and decorated chest. It comes from Bergen County. New Jersey. It was in the Vander Plaat House which was once known as the Vanderbeck House. The chest is from the 1800's. It was decorated at a later date. It has green paint, metal panels, flowers, leaves, studs and mirrors. It is 35" long, 19 1/2" wide, and 20 1/2" high. There is some writing on the back of the chest(see pictures) and a sort of design on the inside of the lid. It has metal handles, and mounts. The chest has cracks on the lid and wear, but is sturdy. This Dome top is of Medium Size. It's a Wood and Filigree Tin Dome Top Antique Trunk measuring 26"L x 16.5"H x 13.5"W. The Exterior is covered in a Gold and Dark Gold Tin Filigree with Floral Design. You can see that the contrast between the tin and the oak wood is stunning. This trunk has all of its original hardware and both leather straps attached. Up for auction is a beautiful. Handmade wooden storage chest. This came from a family member's estate and was recently appraised by a certified antique appraiser for $1,500. The dimensions are 14" high by 17.5" wide and 11" outside depth. Inside it is 9" deep. It sits on 3"legs. As with any piece of furniture of the age. There are several nicks and dents on the outside. Early antique domed document box circa 1800-1810
This box was appraised at the Antique Road Show by a representative from Doyles. New York. NY for 1200-1600 dollars. Hailing from Vermont this box has original vinegar and feather decoration on the top. Front and sides. The box features half snipe hinges which are original.
