I'found' this in my barn- hanging in the rafters were I was placing gable ... morepediments. I thought for the longest time I had this piece listed- but alas it was not. I bought this piece about 5 or 6 years ago. Has a great checkered design in the triangle pediment area- the green paint is creak. Nice crackled finish. The top of the peak is unpainted- it must have been covered as the green paint was NEVER applied to the piece. The bottom edge needs to be trimmed- it has some soft spots on it- I tried to capture this in the pictures. I would estimate about 1 to 1.5" needs to be trimmed on the bottom edge for a smooth. Even edge. Measures 108.5" long is 39" at peak& 8.5" deep. Old square nails are studding the backside also. Has metal flashing on top edge. Antique Victorian 16.5" English Wooden Shell Motif Pediment Walnut / Mahogany
This is an Antique/ Vintage 16 1/2" Wooden Shell Motif Pediment. The pediment was purchase in England. We assume it was probably made there. But we do not know for sure, nor do we know specifically what its age is, but appears to us to likely be 19th Century Victorian era piece. The pediment definitely appears to be hardwood. The appearance of the grain strongly suggests the wood in probably walnut but it could possibly be mahogany or other hardwood. The pediment a great looking piece with a graceful. Very deeply carved shell design. We do not know for sure what specific type of piece it was originally part of. The measurements of the pediment excluding the 3/8" pad at the top center and the two pegs on the bottom are 16 1/2" wide x 6 1/4" high x 3 11/16" wide. The pediment is built up from three layers of wood as ... moreseen in the photo of the top. The pad on top is 3/8" tall with a 7/8" deep x 7/8" diameter hole where the peg for a finial was inserted. As found. The finial was no longer present and the pediment is offered as found in that regard. The two pins on the bottom are 3/4" long x 3/4" in diameter. The pins are on 11 1/4" centers. The pediment is a very solid. Substantial piece and it weighs about three pounds. Condition The pediment is in excellent condition with beautiful. Uniform finish, and no chips or other damage. The only, very, very minor issue I noticed is a couple of tiny circular white paint droplets on the back as seen on the photo of the back. This piece measures: 69" long x 35 1/2 to top peak and each side measures 50" long. For sale I have a nice piece of antique architectural salvage from an old farm house. As you can see from the measurements this piece is quite large. I wish I had wall space to keep this beauty. The patina is an aged dark wood tone worn look. Some pieces from the front are missing from the design. This piece was once at the top peak of the house. Weight about 25 pounds. This piece had to be cut down due to lots of damage. I have trimmed up the edges and glued some of the boards down. Some of the boards are a little loose. But if this piece is hung on a wall it is fine. However could be mahogany(sorry don't know woods very well) It is heavy and solid. It has been beautifully carved with leaves and walnuts. It measures 14" long, 5 5/8" wide and 7 1/4" deep. Gorgeous Antique Victorian Era Cast Iron Architectural Pediment Fretwork Piece Busybusybusy treasure hunting week for you. I shopped at a closing antique store. Went to the flea market, and still have some items from the weeks ago farm estate auction- there’s lots of neat stuff that you don‘t want to miss! Oh-So one of my favorites this week- it's a gorgeous Victorian era antique cast iron architectural piece- a pediment or piece of fretwork from a home. Or perhaps a garden gate, I am not sure, as I just have the one, and cannot put the rest of the"peices" back together to see. I'm thrilled for the piece that I have, though- it is just so pretty in shape and design, and it looks just as good whether it's up like I have in photo 1 or up like I have it in my 23rd photo. It has a very old(probably multiple layers) finish ... moreof black paint, and you can see it's chippy, shabby and worn in many spots- and in most of those spots down to the iron underneath- and you can see a layer of dark surface rust where the metal is exposed. The rust spots are very old, surface only with no thick spots holes, etc. This piece is totally structurally sound and weighs a whopping 6 3/4 lbs. I'm showing you both front and back(if there is a difference, it seems the same on both sides to me as far as design) as well as both sides and top and bottom in my photos. On one short end and its sides(don't know if it's top or bottom- it's the top in most of my photos except 23) you can see where it looks like it was connected to a larger piece- see photos 11 and 16-17 for the side view of where it looks like it was separated, and photos 18-19 of that top where it looks like it was connected and separated. I cannot tell if it was cut or broken from its larger piece, as rough, not flat, but there's no jagged or sharp edges- see my photos. Photos 20& 21 show the other short end, where it's painted and I can see cast lines, so this end was not attached to anything back in the day. The piece measures

Wonderbar 19th Century recessed Victorian Walnut Panel with great formed center medallion. Panel is solid walnut. Medallion is formed and not made of solid wood, however is original to the panel. Panel can be trimmed out by molding to hide cut-out and screw holes. Panel is 19" x 17.25" x 1.5" deep.s fret panel is in great original condition with no issues.
