VERY PRETTY victorian gable pediment. This is one of the more ornate pieces of gingerbread gable design I've had the pleasure of owning. I bought this years ago& used it as a decor piece- not too heavy- Solid Has old crusty. Flaking white paint. I did spray this with two coats of flat rustoleum lacquer years ago to stabilize the paint surface. Measures 123" long is 27.25" at peak- it measures 1.75" thick. I had this hanging in a vaulted ceiling with a similar but not identical pitch- enjoyed this piece- looking to pass it on for someone else to own! 1800s! FIGURAL Walnut Window Valance Victorian Architectural Furniture Pediment
INCREDIBLY HARD PIECE TO FIND! If you are lucky to find something similar at an architectural salvage business. Rest assured, it will be priced over $1000. This is a genuine, Victorian era, window cornice. Still has old hooks and loops in back. Especially striking is that this walnut piece has no less than 3 stain colors! It is in wonderful overall condition. If you simply want it for an over door pediment or cabinet crest, it is flexible for those uses too. The center carving is simply a work of art. It has a pierced fan at top with 2 Eastlake round medallions. The bust is fantastically detailed. Additional carved crests near each end. Antique Victorian Cast Iron Pediment, Urn With 2 Birds
This is a Gorgeous Antique Cast Iron Pediment. Pediment is approximatyely 24 1/2" wide x 9 1/2" tall. Pediment is white and has a large urn in the center and a bird facing the urn on both sides. Pediment has weight to it because it is cast iron. It has a white finish on it but you can see rust in about 4 areas and some coloring showing through the finish in various places. I love these old pediments. They are great to prop up on a mantel or dresser or sometimes even in your kitchen on the counter or behind your sink. It is really a lovely old pediment. Antique Victorian window box valences with female carved heads. They are wood with gesso type material forming decorations. Offering a set of 3 valences(50" wide X 6" deep X 14" tall. They came out of an old Victorian estate in Massachusetts. They are not in perfect condition as there are some medallions missing as well as a several chips in the gold finish. One of the nicest panels I have ever sold! May have been made by the famous furniture maker R.J. Horner. But not certain. Circa, 100+ years old. Wood appears to be walnut. It has a wonderfully framed, bevelled, center recessed panel. Inside has dramatically 3 dimensional carvings. Middle head appears to be a roaring lion with mythical griffins to the left and right. A real SHOWSTOPPER of a piece! Circa. 100+ years old. Wood appears to be walnut. It has a wonderfully framed, beveled, middle recessed panel. Inside has dramatic, 3 dimensional, Victorian carvings. Fire breathing, winged griffins/dragons to the left and right of a center European shield. If that wasn't enough, all carvings are complete!
