This antique two-drawer chest has tons of character. The wood looks like oak and has been painted black on the sides and around the drawers on the front. Panelled sides and an overhanging molded top as well as molding at the base. Drawers have intricately designed metal pulls and there are circular wooden escutcheons surrounding the two keyholes. Sorry. No keys! The drawers have been assembled with strong doweled joints. Overall. This piece is in good condition, however there is obvious wear as you can see from the pictures. The front corners of the overhanging top have broken away and there is also damage to the framing of the drawer fronts on both sides. Paint and finishes look original, but have some significant wear to them. There are also some small holes in the top that look like they were made by nails. Thomasville Replicas Collection 1800's Four Drawer"Massachusetts Chest" of drawers. It appears to be pine wood and could be used in any room. I have set the TV on it, placed it in the foyer, bedroom, etc. There are great details, inset drawers, English style bun feet, gorgeous solid brass hardware and a very slight white wash to the finish. I took a picture of the dovetailed drawers. There is a mar on the inside of a drawer that does not affect the use. Drawers open and close well. Sorry about the shadows on the photos! The piece has the numbers#16911-350 on the back and says Oak. But I believe that is the stain color. I believe it was built in the 1980's as a document reproduction for this collection. You won't find any veneer here this beauty is solid wood. A quality made piece well constructed to serve the maker for many years with three brass hinges to hold the lid. This box has all the pluses, check out the stunning heavy brass trims that decorate every edge for strength and beauty. This chest is about as original as you will ever find complete with drawer, trays that lift out for your drill bits and other small hand tools and room for the hand saw inside the lid. The hefty solid brass handles are built into the chest to lay flush until you pull them out to lift the chest. Both locks are present we do not have any keys. Being offered for sale is this Splendid Solid Walnut& Burl Four Drawer Victorian Eastkake Chest Geometric Carvings circa 1880's. This fine 19th century chest offers wonderful additional storage that is always needed and would be a great companion piece to a Victorian Eastlake bedroom. This chest features beautiful period geometric and incised carvings with raised panels or burl on the drawer fronts. Dove-tailed ends on the drawers and the original brass pulls. This chest measures 38 3/4 inches in height.40 1/2 inches wide by 18 3/4 inches deep and weighs approximately 100 lbs. This 19th century chest is very solid and tight and in excellent antique condition. The locks are intact on all the drawers except the top one but we do not have the key. It measures 49-3/8" wide x 22-1/2" deep x 28-1/4" high with the splash, the ball feet have it sitting about 5-1/4" off the floor. There is a lock, but no key and no catch part. The fronts show wear. And I believe the wood pulls not to be original to the trunk but are old. I have not done any work on it other than cleaning and adding a canvas strap so the lid won't flip all the way open. WOW.When I saw this I was just blown away by it. First thing was the size. Most blanket chests are big. And bulky. This chest is a great size. It is 37" high x 35" wide x 15" deep. The 2nd thing was the condition. The condition is A1. Some very minor scratches and that's it. The 3rd thing that caught my attention was the quality. The design( a true copy of an 18th century blanket chest) and craftsmanship is top shelf. And THEN.the painting. It is signed, and I can't make it out, but whoever did it was really good. It was probably a commissioned piece. The print that will come with it( that was in the blanket chest) is of the Essex Merrimack suspension bridge, in Newburyport Ma. Offered here without reserve is this fantastic Child's or Miniature ca 1840 chest of drawers that has no repairs or restorations aside from the replaced knobs on the drawers(most likely a replaced glass to the mirror as well) It stands but 41 5/8" tall to the finials on the mirror. Whereas the chest alone stands 25 3/8" x 17" wide x 12 1/4" deep. So she's made to 1/2 scale. With fully dovetailed drawers, she's also a menagerie of woods, including cherry, poplar and mahogany(I'm sure there's maple in there somewhere as well) But clearly she's American. What more can I add? Again, there is no reserve, but USPS shipping will run $35 since she's sure to hit the balloon rate charge on shipping.

Nice antique treasure box or tool box with 3 drawers. A lift top lid with breadboard ends. Measuring approx. 21-3/4" wide x 11-1/2" x 10-1/4" high. There are 2 small drawers over 1 larger drawer with a lid that opens for storage inside the top of the box. The original antique iron handles(one on each side) appear to be hand forged with pig tail ends. There is an old iron hasp on the box for your padlock. The hinges must have been replaced at some point years ago. This is a heavy old time box great to use or decorate with ~ take a look. Up for your consideration is this nice antique French three drawer locking jewelry chest. This wonderful chest has great attention to detail when the inlay was done. The gold gilded ormolu accents include the key hole surrounds and also the door pulls that each hold a different hand painted Sevres style porcelain disc for each pull. This chest is in excellent condition. You can tell the age by the toning of the underside wood. Like you see on the antique shows where you scratch your fingernail on the oxidized wood. California are is this somewhat quirky 4-drawer cherry chest(poplar secondary wood) that I believe is either from Massachusetts or New Hampshire. I say quirky because of the exaggerate overhang to the top(wholly original) the top measures 44 1/4" whereas the case itself is 40" 18" deep, 36 1/2" high) I do believe moreover that the hardware is original and she still retains her original locks(have no key though) There are no repairs or restoration except to the drawer runners to one drawer. Otherwise she's 100% Again, local pick up only.

Antique Primitive Lift Top Two Drawer Country Sheraton Cherry Blanket Chest
This wonderful early 19th century chest exemplifies many forms of old world wood construction. The lid appears to be pinned mortice and tenon. The sides and drawers are hand dovetailed, and the base is mortice and tenon. The drawer bottoms appear to be hand planed and fastened with square nails.The hardware appears to be original, but the latch is missing. Judging by the edges and evidence of past screw holes, the lid appears to have been turned around. You can also see that a latch cut-out is now at the back of the lid. All of the wood is solid and at least 1" thick. This a very fine antique that measures 44 inches long, 20 inches wide, and 31 inches high. Originally found in central Illinois west of Springfield, now available for local pick-up only in Elgin, Illinois.Thanks for looking at my auction.

Red Painted American Blanket Chest over Drawer Primarily Yellow Pine. 19th Century Item# 130010CPL26 This is a very attractive Painted American Blanket Chest over a single Drawer retaining an early grungy surface over earlier surfaces of the same color. It is a six-plank blanket chest. Crafted practically in a somewhat crude and certainly rural manner; the face and back are nailed into the sides of the case with square iron nails, this hidden behind half-round black painted molding outlining the facade of the case. The bottom board is nailed in even rows along the sides and along the back, beneath which a single drawer slides in and out of the case. The drawer construction matches that of the case, the joints half-lapped and nailed with iron rose heads, these resting over runners of the same[unidentified] hardwood nailed to the sides of the ... morecase with iron rose heads. The single plank top lifts over original cotter pin hinges supplemented by modern hinges for strength, these modern hinges actually the second set of hinges placed on the case to supplement the cotter pins. The result is a smooth operating top, lifting easily to reveal a large storage area and original steel lock(no key) The cleats flanking the case are nailed to the underside of the lid with a series of even rose heads. All of the brasses are added for effect, the original case having only wooden knobs on the lower drawer at some point before it was painted. The case terminates over boot-jack feet. For anyone passionate about country-style American Painted antiques. This is a beautiful little piece that is not only rather eye-catching, but also quite practical. With a well worn and heavily patinated surface testifying to years of use and enjoyment, the chest remains young in terms of strength and possible length of life if well cared for. It was actually used on a stage coach and in very good condition for its age. Shabby chic rustic and rugged. Made of solid wood and sturdy. On the outside there is a little paint loss on it due to its age. Mostly on the back of the trunk on the bottom. The outside was probably refinished at one point. It was hand or CUSTOM made. Very heavy well made chest. It is solid with no damage to it or its 2 drawers. The drawers are 14 3/4 inches in depth x 20 inches long x 2" wide. In good solid condition. The previous owner told us that it was checked by an expert and was made sometime during the 1840's and except for one handle on the top. Everything else is original. It looks like it may have been used as a gun/pistol box or a storage box for guns. Its bottom drawer is QUITE UNIQUE. The drawer has seven raised wooden compartments in the color blue. That color blue was not be the original color. TWO of those compartments were designed specifically to fit pistols. The other compartments perhaps to hold ammo and anything else related to pistols or guns. The trunk/chest by design does not have any side handles. Four strips of embossed metal adore its domed top. When you open the trunk/chest it will not remain open unless you put something underneath the top to prevent it from closing. Underneath the lid of the trunk there is a secret compartment. The interior is in very good condition. The inside of the trunk is all natural wood. Very clean with no odors. This sale is for an awesome Tiger Maple Sugar Chest. It has some killer figured Tiger maple all around. The chest is a two piece construction just like a large original. The base of the chest is all mortis and tenon construction with square wooden walnut pegs holding it together. It has Sheraton style hand turned legs. The divider inside the chest is mortised in. The chest has an inlaid brass escutcheon but no actual lock it is for decorative purposes only. The hinges on the lid are antique and inlaid in with flathead screws. It has an all hand dovetailed drawer with a chamfered bottom. The drawer has two hand turned tiger maple knobs(wooden knobs are much more authentic. As very few people could afford metal hardware back then) The knobs are attached with antique flathead screws and are hand chiseled in. The chest is all properly aged inside ... moreand out. It has an antique smooth finish. This chest would easily pass as an antique as I pay special attention to every detail. Antique ca. 1885 R. Bliss Oak Three Drawer Machinist Chest Box
This is an Antique ca.1885 Solid Oak R. Bliss. Pawtucket, R. I. three drawer Machinist tool chest. The R. Bliss Mfg. Co. was founded by Rufus Bliss in 1832. It is larger than most machinist chests, at 24"x 14.5"x 12.5"tall and weighs 25 lbs. It has an English made steel lock with working key and brass hardwear. There is a device that locks the drawers when the lid is closed. The end panels are walnut with cast-iron decorative lifting handles. There is a Bliss imprint on the bottom. The top compartment and the three drawers have been relined with dark green felt. Look carefully at the photos. No returns. This is a handsome solid walnut chest from about the 1870s. It has the first manufactured machine joinery on the drawers-the round dowel- as pictured. The chest is thick. Solid walnut and has three locking drawers over two large drawers. The gold leafing was added later and is not original to the piece. The pulls(handles) are original and lovely. There are cast iron casters on the bottom. It measures 48" wide, 22 1/2" deep, and 32" high. A very nice three-drawer 1880-1885 Eastlake chest with a beautiful pink and gray marble top. Which can be lifted off for moving. Note the interesting cove-and-pin construction of the drawers. All drawers will lock. But there is no key. It takes a barrel key, and have found that keys of friends will easily work the locks. Spoon-carved type of decorations along side each end of the top drawer. Note the construction details and condition in the photos. Size: 44"l. x 22"w. x 30"h. Chest has not been refinished and the marble top has not been polished(probably not ever) Though it would enhance the piece to have it polished.
