PRESS CARVED ANTIQUE VICTORIAN ASH CREST PEDIMENT
This is a press carved antique Victorian era ash pediment or crest. It measures aprox. 23 1/2" wide x 3 1/2" high in the center and is 6 1/2" high on the ends. The original finish has been removed. There are dowel holes on the bottom which you can see in the pictures. It is in good condition, a little bit of water staining on the ends.

ANTIQUE CARVED PEDIMENT CREST Striking antique Victorian carved walnut dresser. Mirror or bed pediment crest measuring 28-1/2" long, about 16" tall and about 1-5/8" deep at the thickest point. Featuring simple carved and stylized graduated arms on each side edge, center is finished with two incised leaves around a tiered floral mount- an applied crown or crest completes the top. The peak is pierce carved with a charming heart design- crest is made of two pieces that are block mounted with an overlap creating an almost three-dimensional effect. Condition is very nice with no cracks. Offered for your consideration is this truly fantastic figural carved oak architectural arch top pediment. The carved face looks like a Jester or devil. Very nice detail and expression. The wood is quarter sawed oak with very bold tiger grain. It dates from the late 19th century or early 20th century. Pretty good condition. No repairs or missing pieces. There is a split in the wood across the mouth area of the head and into the scroll carving. Gorgeous Victorian Eastlake Walnut Pediment. Beautiful block carvings on top with floral cut out designs near bottom. Grand old pediment from the turn of the century. Wonderful matte finish with a few scratches. Pediment is perfect to hang over doors. Pictures, as statement piece or an enhancement to other furniture. Great condition for it's age but there are some minor imperfections. Crack on center block goes all the way through to the back so it wobbles a little side to side. 1800s Oak Cabinet Crest Victorian Buffet Pediment Furniture Rail Carved Spindles
Near MINT condition! Authentic. 19th century, furniture header. Solid oak construction. Nice carving at each end with 3 turned spindles closer to middle. Above each spindle is a cannonball finial. Even further toward the middle are double half spindles. The center has a diamond shaped, acanthus medallion with a dramatic, beveled arch above. The arch has 4 button medallions with another finial on top. That finial sits atop more acanthus carving. It also stands freely, upright, on its own if required.Overall, a splendid Victorian design. No breaks, repairs, or missing pieces. It measures approx. 38 5/8 inches by 9 1/8 inches. Many other salvaged architectural antiques listed. All questions encouraged and answered. One of the nicest architectural headers I have ever sold! Highest quality you can buy. Best of all. In near MINT condition! Rich flawless patina. The list of bells and whistles include.c ompletely freestanding beveled base.4 giant turned urn finials across the top.2 of them on beveled platforms.vertical column at each end with beveled front edges.5 urn spindle rails.textured. Recessed panel stretches below& between the 2 inside finials.Victorian acanthus top scroll carving to left and right of head.cornice molding arch in the middle top.further in, is a round raised trim ring around the face. then an elaborate medieval court jester/joker head. The head is in perfect condition with a classic felt 3 pointed hat and jingle bells at each end. You can even see some clothing with folded material around his collar. This is an absolute piece ... moreof 110 year old art. At this level of quality, it is more an investment that it is a purchase. It measures about 45 1/2 inches long& almost 10 inches tall. It also has dramatic depth, at about 4 inches. Top finials will be removed for safer shipping. There are 2 VERY minor condition issues. 2 finials have, on their back facing sides, tiny chips near tips. It is in classic hunting style with a highly carved deer head in the middle. It is in good antique condition-straight and solid. There are a couple of small holes where it was once hung. Also. An antler(on the right side) is broken at the tips(see photos) The antlers are separate pieces mounted in peg holes and a new one could be made.
