Vintage Lion Head Bust on Plinth Stand
This listing is for one Vintage Lion Head Bust: This bust is in great condition. The overall dimensions of the bust w/stand are: 9 ½” Tall x 6” Wide x 8” Long The head is approximately 6 ¼” Tall x 6” Wide x 8” Long Weight: 2.6 pounds This is a very classy looking lion head bust! The burnished gold over dark brown is really great in person. The bust has a nice significant weight to it. And it appears to be made of a resin or plaster. The bust sits firmly and securely on a plinth stand. I’m not sure where it was made and there isn’t a maker name on it. It would look gorgeous on shelves. Or anywhere!

This is a great old lion head carving. Probably 19th century, that has a brass ring to use as a wall mount holder; extremely detailed carving makes this not want to be cluttered by anything hanging on it at all, but your choice; maybe a fine linen towel? It is 6 3/4" tall, and 2 1/4" wide. Top shelf extends 1 5/8" total depth about 2 1/2" After searching for a while, I finally found the seam; brass ring is 1/4" and seamless; the bottom part of the lions jaw is cut just 1/4" slice out of the wood, then the solid 2 1/2" across brass ring was slipped in, and the slice was returned very skillfully, a long time ago. Patina all matches beautifully, it is the original slice of wood.

I have had this for decades and hard times force me to sell very reluctantly as I know this is such a rare find. I was told by the widow that I bought it from. Which was in her garden at the time.that her husband brought it down from atop an old historic Chicago hotels very detailed front archway facade entrance during a remodeling. Sometime within the 1940's-60's. I don't know the actual production date of manufacture although there are many markings on it which might aid someone in narrowing down the artisans plant or kiln factory. Beautiful. LARGE, and detailed wall sculpture. Dates to the Mid Century and features a large, Spanish or Italian Galleon ship with very intricate, faux carved details and in very deep relief. There are rampant lions on the sails and on the crest. The crest is flanked with two cherubs and a crown in located above the crest. The vessel is grand with arched doorways. Antique Satyr Devil Lion Face Mask Sculpture Garden Water Fountain Head Spout
What a Great garden mask relief of a demon satyr looking like the devil mixed with a roaring lion face. With human eyes and nose, excellent display and functional as a water fountain spout. This old high relief mythical sculpture depicts an evil angry looking gargoyle lion man creature face roaring and bearing his teeth or fangs. The water spout in set in his mouth in between his detailed jaw, the water line attaches from the back and exits through the mouth. He measures appx. 10" by 10" he is made of cast metal, very strong and sturdy, non-magnetic, a high quality casting with tremendous attention to detail, unmarked. Front of face is a nice evil daunting black silver shabby chic with great style. This is the face only part of an old water fountain from an estate in SC, face was mounted on an old wooden fence, under him were remnants ... moreof a basin. The back side shows age and oxidation, but he is totally in tact and usable as a water spout.
