Superb Fatigued Weeping Angel Sculptural Pediment Wood 26 inch
This fantastic sculpture is 27x12x4" and quite heavy. The angel is highly animated with its curved wings draped over its body suggesting great fatigue or despair. Look closely to see a winged bird perched on the angel's staff. This sculpture's proportions are perfect. I especially like the way light and shadow play across the deep relief carving. It really is quite stunning. The piece easily stands upright for display. This item came from a furniture and design company that went out of business in the 1990's. Some pieces were removed from furniture that was in disrepair other pieces were left over stock from architectural design projects.

This is a beautiful pediment. Would look wonderful over the doorway in a Traditional. Or Southern home. I haven't got a clue as to whether it is wood or plaster.looks like wood, but can't be sure. It's old. The leaf design is of a laurel wreath. I thought of painting it white and using it above one of my doors, but I have tropical décor in my house, and it's just not working. Small Fancy Primitive Antique Carved Wood Architectural Pediment Piece We traveled an hour and a half South into central Illinois for a football game this week. And I took the opportunity of going treasure hunting in the cornfields. I found a surprising variety– there’s something for everyone this week! Here is a lovely small antique wood pediment piece for you. It's fancy. Yet primitive shabby at the same time. In excellent solid and sturdy condition, it has very worn and chippy paint- you can see white under the current coat and honestly, it's so dirty, it's hard to tell if the current coat is tan, or if it's white and just covered with dirt and dust- please see my photos and what you think. It really needs a good bath, and I do not clean or mess with as found patina in any way. It measures 5" wide at the base, 4" ... morewidest at the carved wood top, 7 1/4" tall and 1 1/2" deep at the sides. It weighs just over 1/2 lb. It's solid, carved wood and it's beautiful. As you can see in my photos, the bottom is not painted on the front and back, and the sides of the base were never painted either. You can see one small hole on the front left- I am guessing it's from where/how it was mounted. The paint is very chippy and crackly and worn all over- yummy! Maximum thickness is 3" wood appears to be walnut but unknown- may have topped a large piece of furniture or wall item as the distance between inside of mortise joints is only 29 ½ inches- estimated vintage late 1890s to early 1900s(nails used appear to be wire nails. Not cut nails) purchased from an estate sale. Stunning Victorian Era 1800s Antique Carved Wood Pediment Over Mantel Mirror? We traveled an hour and a half South into central Illinois for a football game this week. And I took the opportunity of going treasure hunting in the cornfields. I found a surprising variety– there’s something for everyone this week! The best word to describe this one is AWESOME! I took one look at it. And it stopped my in my tracks. I don't know if it is a part from a piece of furniture, or an architectural piece- but my guess is latter. It looks like some type of small over mantel or maybe over a mirror or hall tree. It's a stunning fancy Victorian era pediment that will be yours to decide, though. made of solid wood with a very dark patina, it measures 21" widest, 7 1/2" deepest and 31" tallest at the center of the top decoration- that's ... moremeasuring on the farthest spots of the outside walls. The inside(measuring on the inside walss of the front) opening is 16 5/8" wide 4 7/8" deep front to back at the lower unadorned half, amd 18" tall from the bottom of the feet to the"ceiling" on the inside top. It weighs a smidge under 8 lbs. It's in excellent solid and sturdy structural condition- with tongue and groove construction that you can see at the back- this is a quality piece. At the front bottom half, if you look at photos 10& 11, you can see two small nail holes on either side- so it was clearly mounted to or behind something on that lower half. The good news is that it stands on its own as it is- as you can see in my photos, and also that it's stained the same color there- although not varnished, I don't believe, but because of the stain, it really does not stand out to me- see what you think in my photos. The finish is in overall nice shape- with some scratching and scraping. There's a 4" long light shallow scratch the top left that you can see in photo 8. There's some other smaller scratches there too. That's the worst of it as far as the front/show

Antique Carved Wood Overdoor. Pediment Animal Forms: first of all this piece was hard to photograph as it is supposed to sit under the soffit of an armoire or mantle. It can also be used as an overdoor or pediment. The hand carved piece is made of dark hardwood, possibly mahogany. The entire piece is carved and has a bat like shape in the middle and two reclining animals on either side. The piece has been around for well over 100 years and has some minor abrasions in the front and nail holes in the top and back. Measurements are: 51 1/4" by 4 3/4" highest point and 3/4" thick.

Gorgeous Victorian Eastlake Walnut Pediment. Beautiful block carvings on top with floral cut out designs near bottom. Grand old pediment from the turn of the century. Wonderful matte finish with a few scratches. Pediment is perfect to hang over doors. Pictures, as statement piece or an enhancement to other furniture. Great condition for it's age but there are some minor imperfections. Crack on center block goes all the way through to the back so it wobbles a little side to side. Superb 19thc gothic oak wood pediment with a carved lion head to centre and with fine gothic wings flanking. Dating c.1860's. Excellent attention to carved detail on this very unusual and most decorative pediment which is of a domed design. The lion head is beautifully carved and to either side of the head are wonderful large gothic wings. Measures 4" max height x 18" length. Condition is excellent and age commensurate. Up for auction is an antique architectural walnut wood door pediment with four antique acorn tip cast iron hangers. The pediment is from the 1890's. Great for hanging bcoats. Herbs or just things you love to collect. I love the contrast of the weathered finish on he pediment and the cast iron hooks. It is 45" long; 9" tall and 1 7/8" thick at the top. Wonderful Walnut Wood Furniture Pediment Perfect for hanging over doors. Pictures, as a statement piece or as a furniture attachment. Been in my personal care the past 20 years. I believe it is referred to as the"Star or Sun Burst" design. Piece is in great shape for it's age. It is solid and has a nice gloss sheen to the wood. No repairs, breaks or issue other than an occasional scratch. Stamped#14 on back. Finish has a nice sheen and has been lemon oiled to preserve the wood finish so it will arrive clean, pest and critter free. Large Victorian Architectural Furniture Salvage Wood Pediment
Estate sale purchase. So age& history unknown. Beautiful old wood pediment, I suspect from the top of an armoire or a mirror. It has a rich wood finish. It measures approximately 48" wide x 17-1/2" tall. The top crown is 2-1/4" thick and the main body is 1-3/4" thick. Overall in good condition with very minimal wear to the finish and a couple of tiny nicks that can be expected from use& age. GREAT DECORATOR PIECE!
