Salvaged from a late 1800s Victorian home.These corbels were destined to be landfill. They can be re-purposed as shelf or mantle brackets or as book ends. Pictured are the actual corbels attached to the house they belonged to. The original paints and nails are still attached. The corbels are 13&1/2" long X 10&1/2" deep X 3& 3/4"wide. Description This is a nice set that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. They are made of terra cotta. They are very ornate with acanthus leaves o the fronts. They were originally keystones above the front doors. Each measures 18.25 inches tall. They are 14.25 inches wide overall and 8.25 inches wide at the bottom. They are 10 inches deep at the top and 6.75 thick at the bottom. Overall they are in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as they are antique. They could use a good cleaning. Two Antique Completely Hand Carved Corbels. from the Pacific Islands. extremely old. from the estate of a lady that spent many years in the Philliphines. and collected and brought back to the US Antiques. there appears to be no finish on these unique corbels. and they show all the signs of extreme age and use. most likely from a Temple of some sort or an estate home. they measure 26 inches along the front and 10 1/2 inches along the back. they are 6 inches wide and 8 1/2 inches deep at the top and go down to nothing at the bottom. One of the Corbels is slightly larger than the other. it appears they were made to fit on the spot when the original building was put together. Please look at the pictures closely and ask questions. one on the corbels has the attaching peged ends sawn off. the other has them.

Here we have an original pair of 1880's era ~ VICTORIAN PORCH CORBELS WITH THE ORIGINAL FINIALS ~. We acquired a total of four out of the same estate. So please check out the other two we have listed if by chance you need four. This pair of fancy Victorian corbels has a wonderful look and great detail in the design. They measure 24 inches tall by 17 inches long by 3 5/8 inches wide. They are somewhat dirty and would clean up quite nicely, or could strip them and add fresh paint. The wood is quite solid and there are no soft areas or rot. The one side looks like it was exposed to some heat, but it is only on the very surface and really did not hurt the corbels. Each one is unique and are being sold in sets of two with one figure looking to the right and the other to the left. They have a walnut stain. They measure 10 3/4 inches in height. 5 inches in width and 5 3/4 inches in depth. The relief is 1 1/2 inches deep. These are very solid and each weighs 3 1/2 pounds. Frame has tight fit wood joint at angle and I can see the 90 degree"wagon wheel" center piece was nailed to frame originally. Frame together measures 12" x 10" on outside edge and frame measures 1-1/8" square. In very good antique condition. Has few small gauges/chips when it was taken apart. These are a stunning pair of oak wooden carved corbels of the heads of males wearing crowns of which: During our research we have been informed they certainly date from the 17th century. Date about c1680. Of a Black Forest origin. In anoak. Superb intricate carvings of the corbels of the heads of the male figures. Both portrayed wearing crowns. Two pieces of oak joined together then relief carved. Both have been painted in a grey which has been done we believe during the later period of the 19th century. Superb portrayals of the male heads. Facial portrayals with the beards and heavy moustaches. Each has an overall size to the rears of about 6.75 x 4inches. Max overall heights of about 7.5inches. Max depths of about 4inches. They measure- 13 5/8" tall and right at 4" in width. looks to be off a fireplace originally. came out of a 100+ year old house were taken down during the start of a renovation and never got reinstalled.
