TWO ANTIQUE VICTORIAN ARCHITECTURAL SALVAGE WOOD CORBELS GINGERBREAD HOUSE TRIM
Here are two gorgeous examples of Victorian wood trim in beautiful condition. I am no expert on antiques or architectural salvage. But I did a little research and hope I am using the right terminology. These have been at my parents' home for years if not decades. I grew up in an old house in the 1960s and they may have intended to put them on it, but never did, so they've been safely inside all this time. It's time someone put them to use as shelf brackets, book ends, decorative trim or whatever you can dream up! They measure 14" x 12" and are about 1" wide. They are in very good solid condition with no rot or chips and beautifully jointed corners They even still have a couple of the original mounting nails stuck in them! I don't know what kind of wood they are, they look like oak to me, but again, I'm no ... moreexpert. The pictures are front and back of each, although they kind of all look the same. For sale in this auction is a pair of porch brackets or porch corbels for decoration next to a porch post. These are off of a 100 year old house porch that was being torn down. They are made out of wood and most of the paint is gone. They measure approximately 14 inches long on the longest side and 12 inches long on the other side. They are approximately 3 1/4 inches wide on the back side. The tallest part of the decoration measures approximately five and half inches tall. They do have wear. Some cracking, lots of cobwebs and one corner has damage more than the rest. I tried to show that in the pictures. Antique Architectural Item, Carved Wood Wall Light Bracket Sconce Arm in Gold
Antique Carved Wood Architectural Piece. Wall Sconce Up for your consideration is this nice antique wood wall sconce or light bracket/arm. Gold or gilt in color. Has a wall base with an arm extending from the base with a carved laurel detail, could have been an electrified piece at one time with a threaded metal tubing opening at the back and at the top of the extended piece, there is a small piece taken out of the base(see pic) and it has a crack at the inside of the arm close to the base that is cracked through but still intact although it is loose. Not sure if it is staying in place because of the metal tubing inside or it is has been pinned but I would reinforce it somehow if you use it to hold anything. These epic. Architectural salvage corbels with drop finals were original to a gorgeous house on South Main St. in New Milford, CT, and were given to me by the owner about 20 years ago. They are in awesome shape; clean, no rot, solid, dry, only a few layers of original distressed white paint, so details of carving are well highlighted. Corbels measure approx. 15"x15"x4" and are about 22+" on the diagonal. I used them for a number of years as brackets supporting a large. Heavy rectangular piece of glass, which made for a unique vanity/shelf over a fab silver radiator. 4 Assorted Antique Carved Architectural Plinth Block Moldings
Wonderful group of four primitive antique architectural carved wood plinth blocks including a teardrop shape flat back trim piece measuring 10" tall and 2-1/4" deep; a triple ringed bulls-eye plinth measuring about 6-1/4" square by 1-1/4" deep; another bulls-eye or rosette plinth measuring 5-1/4" tall. 4-1/2" wide and 1" deep; and a lovely and an unusual elongated plinth or corner block carved down with a ribbed three leaf clover measuring 8" tall, 4-7/8" wide and 1" deep. All bear original old paint full of chipping, rubbing, paint shrinkage and loss- does not detract a bit. I've been displaying these on my mantle for years- they have a neat architectural look and would be a fun addition to any collection or home! A very large wooden Corbel with chippy paint that is from my personal collection and was purchased at an estate sale in New Orleans. Measures 18" wide. 22" tall, and 4 1/2" thick and is quite heavy approx. 14 pounds. Solid but the finial is slightly loose and could be strengthened with glue if desired but it displays nicely as is. Corbel has old chippy white paint. Appears to be the original color. There is some weathered wood, please see photos. All wood construction. Not sure what the wood is either cedar or fir, possibly. I think this is technically called a"sandwich bracket" No international shipping due to weight and size of this package.

Wonderful matching pair of antique wooden corbels. They are coated in old. Green paint that is a little chippy. Each corbel measures 18 inches long, 11 1/8 inches deep and 3 1/2 inches wide. Rare group of 4 salvaged fancy wooden corbels with swirls. Leaves, and barrel shapes and embellishments. Victorian feel, very old. AS shown in the photos, there are carving pieces missing here and there. Please examine photos carefully! As I have handled these. Small pieces have fallen off, so the glue has failed on some areas. I am offering a beautiful VICTORIAN STYLE. WOOD FINIAL ON SQUARE PEDESTAL, ORIGINAL DOWEL. This is a magnificent piece. It measures 6 5/8" high and the square pedestal is 3 1/4" There is some paint spattering on the side, about an inch line of paint and some very slight spattering up from that. Having worked in the antique business for many years, I would NEVER mess with the finish or patina. I could easily strip this off, but so can the person who wants this, at their discretion. This is one of the nicest FINIALS I have.
