The white and grey veined beveled edge oval marble top is original and is in wonderful antique condition with only some light stains and character marks as common with old marble.The marble rests on a detailed carved walnut conforming table apron. And the table is raise up on four wide out-swept upper and lower legs with a substantial ring turned walnut pedestal at the center with a center drop finial. From the headress and hair style, they appear to be either Egyptian or Grecian styles, hence the attribution. This beautiful Victorian chair weighs approximately 25 pounds and measures 35 ¾” in total height, 18 ¾” in width, 22 ½” in depth and has a seat height of 17 ½” The details on this chair are lovely! Elegant. Desirable needlepoint upholstery with a rich ivory background and floral rose motif in shades of rose, burgundy, gold, green, ivory, lavender, blue and gray(in excellent condition with no major staining) adorns the seat and cameo back of this beautiful chair.
