This George Nakashima style mid century modern wall shelf is a family piece. Purchased by my parents in the early 1960's in the South Jersey/Suburban Philadelphia/New Hope area. It measures 61 inches long by 14 1/2 inches at its widest spot and 9 inches at its narrowest, and is 2 inches thick. The top has a small dent(pictured) and two small paint smudges(pictured) The underside has 4 holes that were drilled for the support brackets and paint along the wall edge from when the wall it was hung on was painted. You are viewing a rare and fantastic eBay Auction item. This is a vintage white porcelain skull salt& pepper shaker set. The stamp markings on the bottom of the base and the bottom of each skull shaker read"NAKASHIMA" with a crest with Japanese lettering in it(see pictures) The skeleton heads nod perpetually if they are placed in the base correctly. Both heads have beautiful 22K gold eyes. Noses, cheek bones and teeth outlines as well as the holes for the salt& pepper. Additionally, there is a beautifully painted gold guilding design on the front of the base with a gold line on the bottom of the front, back and left side of the base. There are no cracks or glazing and the gold trim paint is all in tact.including the design on the front of the base. The corks under the heads are both in excellent condition. Bottom is marked: Roy Sheldon Marlboro, VT and is dated July 21, 1967. The estate family said the gentleman used this as his desk at his company. It shows natural, expected shrinkage to some boards but adds to the unique construction and character of this one-of-a-kind piece. There are"bowtie" inserts underneath where the artist could hold pieces together. The legs, bases and top can be disassembled into 4 pieces which makes it flat and compact for shipping. Beautiful authentic rustic hand-crafted wood bar chair with organic and ergonomic forms by Reynolds Woodware Ltd. Ludlow. England between 1950s and 70s. The company was founded by Arthur Basil Reynolds, designer, after WWII. When he died in 1960 his son, Garth Reynolds continued to produce these hand-made, unique pieces until 1977, when the factory was destroyed by fire. Only some 5 or 6 sets were made and sold by the company. They are very rare pieces of furniture. Made of solid wood with a great sense of untouched nature in the manner of Arts and Crafts movement. This Round Table along with 5 other pieces of which 3 have been sold and the other. A bench table which is also listed were all ordered at the Nakashima Studio back in 1968 by my parents and have been in the family ever since but there is no provenance. This piece is signed"Gino Russo, New Brunswick NJ, 1968" Gino was a master craftsman at the Nakashima Studio and would build the furniture that George Nakashima designed. My mom remembers picking designs from the Nakashima catalog. I have contacted the studio and they could not find a record of the sale and informed me that Gino did side deals while he was working for Nakashima. It seems likely that when my parents visited the studio, they met with Gino who I believe probably offered a lower price and faster build time than would be possible if ordered through the studio. The designs were picked from the catalog at the studio. In need of light restoration. Has some ring marks and stains but I think they can easily be sanded out. For sale is a super high end Mid Century Modern Driftwood Redwood Burl table. Came from an Estate sale in a well to do summer home in the Pocono's of PA. Has a great patina.I was told from the 1940's or 50's. It is much older than any other driftwood table I have ever seen. Measures 61 plus inches long and 24 at widest. Has a perfect couch edge for maximum use. Top is very beautiful Redwood burl I think.With a Driftwood base. Even Rago auction's classified this as a superior piece. Top has scratches. For your consideration an interesting free form live edge compilation wall or floor shelf. Made of floating hardwood slabs and tree ring. Well crafted. Solid construction with a durable finish. Clean, strong, and in excellent condition. Measures about 32" wide by 28" tall by 11" deep. Weighs about 21 pounds. Features a full width bottom shelf and two offset floating center shelves. The space between the bottom shelf and the first shelf is 6" the bottom shelf and second shelf is 11" between the 1st and 2nd shelf is 4-1/2" and the space above the 2nd/top shelf to the tree ring is 10" plus. Up for consideration is fine pair of vintage wooden Mid Century California Craft Style Organic Rustic Root Chairs or Ottomans. They measure as follows; the first measures about 30 by 20 by 14 inches whereas the other measures about 34 by 22 by 14. Please note that these are dimensions are just a general overall dimension. They weigh about 50 lbs each and are very well constructed. I have sat in bot and was totally impressed by their overall comfort. It is also come to my attention that the wonderful pieces could even act as tables. You decide. They have nice wear and aging with some dried out varnish.
