It consists of 2 detachable leather cushions. A solid chromed metal frame with attached leather straps. The measurements are H 75cm W 75cm D 77cm and a weight of 17.1 kg for the frame and 8.5 kg for the 2 cushions. The condition of this piece as with all the chairs I am selling is first-class. Both the back and seat cushion foam are firm and supportive exactly as new. The leather is also excellent supple and soft. Retaining its original shape perfectly. The colour is vibrant and fresh not faded or worn and free from stains, marks and holes. The frames too are excellent free from marks and dents with the chroming still gleaming and 99% scratch free. This is an authentic Knoll product and not a copy that has been verified by the Knoll showroom in Clerkenwell London. This attractive and striking chair although industrial in conception and appearance is finished almost entirely by hand. The leather cushions are made up of 148 individual patches hand sewn together and the frame is welded by hand to create seamless joins. The chroming is done perfectly without floors and the leather used is of the highest quality Italian. Made by the same skilled leather workers as Gucci who both have factories in Florence. I used to work for the modern furniture retailer Skandium in London so understand and appreciate the time and effort that has gone into creating these chairs. Something that is sorely lacking in the mass of inferior copies. Because I have seen many examples at Skandium and the Knoll showroom I can tell the condition of all three chairs is excellent. The measurements are H 75cm W 75cm D 77cm and a weight of 17.1 kg for the frame and 8.5 kg for the 2 cushions. The condition of this piece as with all the chairs I am selling is first-class. Both the back and seat cushion foam are firm and supportive exactly as new. The leather is also excellent supple and soft. Retaining its original shape perfectly. The colour is vibrant and fresh not faded or worn and free from stains, marks and holes. The frames too are excellent free from marks and dents with the chroming still ... moregleaming and 99% scratch free. This is an authentic Knoll product and not a copy that has been verified by the Knoll showroom in Clerkenwell London. This attractive and striking chair although industrial in conception and appearance is finished almost entirely by hand. The leather cushions are made up of 148 individual patches hand sewn together and the frame is welded by hand to create seamless joins. The chroming is done perfectly without floors and the leather used is of the highest quality Italian. Made by the same skilled leather workers as Gucci who both have factories in Florence. I used to work for the modern furniture retailer Skandium in London so understand and appreciate the time and effort that has gone into creating these chairs. Vintage Mies Van der Rohe desiged Barcelona Chair
For sale is my old Mies Van der Rohe style Barcelona chair. I have owned for the past 20 years and it is older than that. Probably from the 70's or 60's. This chair is not stamped or signed. Leather cushions are in good shape, as are the straps. This model is chrome plated steel frame, that comes apart in 4 pieces with a L wrench. There are some small corrosion areas on the frame, otherwise in excellent condition. I just had this listed but had to make changes to the description and ended up having to relist. I will have to take the chair apart to ship. Otherwise I can deliver the chair as is to Manhattan or Boston on my next trip for $100 fee. Just reduced to starting bid of $999. Educator and urban planner Ludwig Hilberseimer, a colleague of modernist master Mies van der Rohe. From a 1988 review by Chicago Tribune architecture critic Paul Gapp: The'Hilbs' revered by so many is dealt with in this book in a prefatory collection of reminiscences by George Danforth. A Chicago architect-educator long associated with Hilberseimer who made certain the Art Institute preserved his archives. The meatiest of three essays in the volume is architectural historian Richard Pommer's analysis of Hilberseimer as a city and regional planner influenced by Friedrich Ostendorf, the Russian Constructivists, Le Corbusier, Nietzsche and, of course, Mies. Rare Mid Century Modern Tablecloth Retro Vintage Mies Van Der Rohe Style
This is a mid century modern tablecloth I have had stored in my closet for years in a bag so there is no fading. This cloth has served edges and measures 48 x 36 inches. Could use the usual soak but there are no stains or rips. It's in very good condition for its age. Would also make two good long pillows or a longish stool. Perhaps this covered a card table? I could never figure out what to use it for but I kept it anyway. Unusual mid century design I haven't seen on any material recently. Has a nice background weave that is slightly shiny. Hand wash. One button is missing, but it could be easy to make another one using the correct button type and matching leather, or find one with matching color leather. It is a 23-story aluminum and glass International Style skyscraper designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and constructed in 1962. The velvet has some small lint and scuff like stains on it. As black velvet often does. The chrome may have some minimal scratches and patina on bottom of cantilever. The BRNO Chair was designed in 1929 by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Riech. His companion and working partner. This iconic chair, known as the Brno-chair, was created specifically for the Fritz and Grete Tugendhat house in Brno, Czechoslovakia in 1929-1930.
