Which consists of a large dresser and a matching chest of drawers. The ... moreset is crafted from an unusual color of wood, which I think might be Pecan as it is lighter in color than most other woods and has a fine grain, somewhat similar to Walnut. The dresser has 8 full size drawers and three smaller drawers on the top. The middle drawer has only a key hole to open it while the others have matching drawer pulls. The drawers all feature dovetailed woodworking. The chest of drawers has 6 full size drawers with the top drawer featuring a lock(the key is included and taped inside of the top drawer and visible in one of the pictures) I'm uncertain if the one key works on both locks but I think they would as the key isn't a complicated design. Both pieces of furniture have glass tops that are in good shape. Both pieces feature designs created on the top by using different colored woods and grain patterns, giving a nice break from the solid color that the main furniture body has. The dresser's top left drawer features the Baker metal logo plaque on the inside. The furniture is in very nice shape but there are a few scratches and scuffs that need pointed out. There is a small square piece of veneer(about 1 inch square) that is missing along the bottom edge of the dresser, a little to the right of center. There are also a deeper scratch on the bottom right leg of the dresser and bottom left leg of the chest of drawers. These are shown in the photos. The furniture would benefit from a good cleaning and possible waxing.I'm not certain what type of cleaning or maintenance would be appropriate. Please look carefully at the photos to get a better idea of the true condition this nice old set is still in.I would guess this dates back to the 60s or early 70s. It is of smaller proportions making it ideal for a smaller room. The approx. measurements are: 3’ 6½” tall/ 2’ 11” across the front and is 1’ 5¼” wide. Rare Retro Danish Teak Wood Writing Desk With a Lift up Vanity Mirror Section From a local estate sale is this wonderful Teak Wood Desk. It can be used as a writing desk or a make-up vanity. It has three small pull out drawers on the inside with the middle drawer having a lift up mirror and there are three larger drawers below the desk area. The inside of the desk also has a couple of cubby shelves. If you look below the second shelf you can see someone has cut a small hole to pass cords through. I could not find any markers markings but I am guessing from other items in the house of this estate sale it is Danish and probably from the 60's or 70’s. DETAILS: 33" Height x 53" Wide x 18 1/2" Deep 2- Small Louvered Top Drawers: 5" H x 23 1/2 W x 14" D 4 Drawers: 6 3/4" H x 23 1/2 W x 14" D Weight around 110 Lbs This was my 82 year old Aunt's dresser. She has been the one and only owner since purchased brand new in 1954! When I visited her over the weekend. She said to me"Please remove that old dresser! I am buying brand n ew bedroom furniture! No joke! My Aunt is a hoot! In good shape for it's age. It does need a little bit of TLC and probably could stand to be refinished or painted a completely different color. The top appears to have had something hot placed on a doily of some sort and has melted a bit into the top. There are also some ... moreother random stains. Mid Century Modern walnut with rosewood handle hardware dresser by Stanley. This line is by far and away the best the Stanley offered in the era. In my opinion. I am selling the matching gentleman's dresser, or highboy, separately. Both pieces have been refinished, but missing veneer work was not done, so, as you can see in pics 4& 8 there is slight edge veneer loss at the front side corners. In pic 5 you can barely see that the veneer has been re-glued. There are a few nicks here and there, and there are hardware circles around a couple of the drawer pulls, where the handles have been rotated and made a circle in the wood around. The hardware, as well as the design, makes this piece much more eye catching, with steel pulls and horizontal rosewood tips on each pull. This piece measures 54" x 32" x 18" deep. They are known for their high level of old-world craftsmanship, and this piece is completely evident. The cabinet piece weighs close to 300 lbs with the curved front drawers in it and the mirror another 50 lbs. Refinished and offered on 1st Dibs or placed through and East/West Coast Interior Decorator. This would be a $6,500 ensemble. This is NOT a piece which started out at white. And has faded or been smoked around, it retains its original finish which is marked on the back side as“Golden Glo 120” It’s an AMAZING piece and would be appropriate for a grand home both in the master suite. Or even in the dining room or a large hall/ parlor. All angles of this piece has rounded elements to it. Including each ... moreend, all nine drawers, each of which was fashioned out of one piece of solid wood, not layers of veneer, again QUALITY craftsmanship!
