Pair of Paul McCobb Midcentury"Origami" Chairs Made from molded fiberglass with a textured finish. Pale salmon color. Each have chrome legs and the base has the remnants of a stamp. They were purchased from the estate of an Architect and sat on a porch for many, many years. Measurements: Height 32" to top of back) Width 21" Depth: 20" Height of Seat: 15" Condition: They are old and were kept outside. The legs had quite a bit of rust and were cleaned as best as possible. I have been told they can be re-chromed. There is some wear on the fiberglass. Please refer to the photos as they best depict the condition of the chairs. If additional photos are needed. Set of 5 Harvey Probber/ Paul McCobb Style Dining Chairs MID CENTURY MODERN This is a set of 5 dining room chairs made in the style of Harvey Probber.3 side chairs and two arm or captains chairs. There is a tag on the underside of one of the chairs that is from the Mor Weiss Upholstery Company of Brooklyn. NY. I'm not sure if that refers to the manufacturing of the chair or the upholstery? I couldn't find anything on this company. The construction is high quality and I would imagine that these chairs were likely very expensive. If these are not attributed to Probber then it was an obvious"tribute" by another talented designer to his skills. The condition is good to very good. They will probably need to be reupholstered. I'm selling an Eames era vintage walnut dining table and 2 leaves from renowned midcentury designer Paul McCobb's iconic Planner Group line. Manufactured in the 1950s by Winchendon Furniture Company of Massachusetts. The table is 7 feet long with both the leaves in. Dimensions are: 29 1/2" tall 38" wide and 60" in length w/o the leaves(the leaves are 12 inches each) I also have two of the Paul McCobb mid century modern Planner Group chairs that aren't included in the asking price. here is a well-loved vintage mid-century modern dining set designed by paul mccobb for the the winchendon furniture company of massachusetts. the set consists of four cane-backed dining chairs without arms and a table with two leaves. the table measures 37" wide and 66.5" long with no leaves. each table leaf is 15" wide for a total table length of 95.5" the chairs measure 33.5" tall. 22" wide and 20" deep. I believe the design was originally marketed as part of the"perimeter group" by winchendon in the late fifties. And then after a while the design was incorporated into the existing"planner group" line. this example is labeled with the"planner group- designed by paul mccobb- winchendon furniture company- winchendon. Mass" labels. condition: the set is in fairly good vintage ... morecondition and the chairs and table are physically very solid. However there are a number of flaws here and there, including: a) one chair has a split that has been repaired on the back rail. Another chair has some gouges to the back and another to the bottom of the leg. b) the cane on the chairs is intact with a few minor breaks to the weave of the cane in a couple places. there is also a noticeable loss to the finish of the cane in places. c) all of the upholstery on the chairs is stained and should be replaced. d) the table has losses to the veneer on the edges and some minor splits in the wood on the legs. the table is photographed without the center leg structure in place(which is pictured separately) this center leg structure has one warped leg(please see picture) e) the two table leaves have discoloration to their surfaces and losses to their veneer. f) all of the chairs and the table have additional minor scuffs and scratches and dings. overall the dining set could use professional refinishing and/or cleaning. this dining set is sold AS-IS with no reserve! please ask first if you have any questions- I would be happy to provide more pictures of any details if you like- jus

Here is a set of 4 mid century modern Clifford Pascoe chairs. Designed for Modernmasters Inc. in 1951& was included in the 1952 Museum of Modern Art Good Design show. These chairs have no rust and solid welds. The chairs were painted when I got them. One of the chairs has been repaired. Although there is a wiggle in the repaired seat back(the close up shown) this wiggle has not increased or changed in 5 years. The chairs are easy to upholster. I covered these with a canvas Bastik fabric(hammock fabric from France) and then a layer of plastic. I know. Yuck plastic, but I have kids. It worked. On Feb-21-13 at 10:02:20 PST. This was an incredible Estate Sale find! This is an early Mid Century stool is all original and in fabulous condition. The vinyl is beige/light tan with black trim and is not faded. There are no scratches. Tears, pokes or scrapes on the vinyl. The hairpin legs have a brass ringlet. There are a few scuffs on the legs but not noticeable at all. It would be difficult to find another stool of this age in this condition. The stool stands about 18" tall and has a diameter of 18" The original tag states the stool was made by Merit Manufacturing in Jamaica, NY. For some reason I am loving the iron lately- this set had been in the same house since the 1950's when it was bought in a Dept. store in downtown Orlando. It was reupholstered decades ago. So there are no labels and I cannot attribute it. I know Pearsall and McCobb worked with iron but I don't think this is either of their designs. Any help from anyone on attributing it would be welcomed. The couch folds out into a bed. The upholstery is nubby and has a line of original color at the crease of the fold between the bottom and top cushion as you can see in pic 6. The iron is in nice shape. Some slight oxidation. The legs have some nicks on them- please see pics. The chair measures 31" tall and 25" wide leg to leg. The seat is 21" deep and It is 27.5" long leg to leg. Offered is a restoration project from Dunbar. This could be a great office chair. Conference, or dining chair. After many hours of research. I am 100 percent sure its Dunbar made, as it has a distinct style with the arm shape peaking at the backrest. I was informed by a Dunbar buyer that this chair was designed by Ray Zimmerman, and was catalog#6060, which dates it to 1960. So thanks to a fellow ebayer! It was made with latex foam over zig zag spings. And orange woven upholstery, that feels like hopsack wool. Size: 30.5 tall. X 25 wideset point, arm to arm, x 24 inches deep. Condition: The chair is as found. With no cleaning or restoration. Original latex foam is powder now. And shedding. The chair is with original material for your upholstery person to replicate the square pleat stitching. Original Tacks. But no tags are present. The material ... moreis stained on the backrest. It might clean up, if you desire the all original look, with new foam installed. Walnut wood on the frame is not scratched. But needs re-oiled or just cleaned. It came from an engineers estate. PAUL McCOBB fiberglass origami chair salmon peach orange Eames mid century RARE!
For your consideration is one(1) extremely rare vintage 1950s PAUL McCOBB protoype of the iconic origami fiberglass chair in a lovely salmon/peach orange color. Please note that the chair's color is more peach/salmon(see 5th pic) but appears brighter and more orange under indoor tungsten light. I was told by a mid century modern expert that this might actually be the only prototype of this kind and color ever made. But I'll leave it to the eventual buyer to assess the photos and make your own determination. This is such a structurally beautiful and well-crafted chair that is emblematic of the space-age. Atomic design aesthetic of much of mid century modern furniture, and fiberglass is the perfect material for something that exemplifies the marriage of form and function. What makes this distinct from the other(also rare) origami fiberglass ... morechairs is the exposed rivets. Which can only be found on a handful of prototypes. Structurally sound and complete. With black leg gliders still intact, but as with most vintage chairs, it exhibits standard wear, particularly scratches and some oxidation and rust on the legs, which can probably be removed with steel wool and the proper cleaner. Small chip on the back, but it does not detract from the beauty of this chair and can really only be seen from the back and some surface crazing near the bolts on the seat. Paul McCobb Planner Group 3-Pc Bench/Storage Cabinet/Drawer. Very cool and rarely seen 3-pc modular storage unit/bench by Paul McCobb for Winchendon. Part of the Planner Group line. This set is comprised of a low bench/platform. A single drawer unit with ring pull. and a cabinet with sliding grass-cloth doors and one fixed shelf. The three pieces are completely separate and can be arranged any way you like. As with all McCobb Planner Group pieces. These pieces are constructed of solid maple. Please see our other listings for a coordinating small cocktail table. The unit is in very good condition. Showing some minor water staining to the top of the cabinet. It looks as if the pieces have been refinished at some point.
