It also has a hole on the underside for displaying on a wooden stand. The wooden stand was not found with the piece. Emaus made high-quality hand-cut and welded metal sculptures in Mexico during the 1960's and 70's. This sunburst face wall sculpture also has a nice patinated bronzed finish. It is quite large measuring 31" across and 29" tall. This fabulous vintage Emaus sunburst face wall sculpture is in very good condition with just a bit of irregularity in the spacing of the"rays" near the bottom where the insert hole for the stand is located. Nothing that detracts in the least. It displays beautifully. Pictures were taken with and without a flash to best illustrate the true color and details. It also has a hole on the underside for displaying on a wooden stand. The wooden stand was not found with the piece. Emaus made high-quality hand-cut and welded metal sculptures in Mexico during the 1960's and 70's. This sunburst face wall sculpture also has a nice patinated bronzed finish. A meticulously formed pedestal base supports a bulbous mid-section that retracts into a nicely angled shoulder. That angle is complemented by the gentle slope atop the masterfully formed neck and rim. Throwing rings and concentric markings(as well as hundreds of small white stone occlusions) combine to add further textural depth to the entirety of the pot. This is a very interesting and striking red resin sculpture. The provenience is uncertain. Except that it is believed to have originated in the 1960's. Certainly appears to have at least that age and that is consistent with other art from that collection. Here is your chance to own a beautiful piece of art. This particular piece has 4 flower groups made of quarts and the rest is made up of many twisted brass wires and brass leaves on a wood base. The back side of the leaves look like they could be gold as shinny as they are. This piece has a sticker on the bottom which reads. Rex A Spross, 1988, Original Sculpture as shown in the pictures. Rex Spross sculptures are from San Francisco and very limited. The wood base is 13.5 inches long, the limbs and leaves make the sculpture 18 inches in length and is about 14 inches across from leaf to leaf. and is about 6.5 inches tall the way the limbs are bent now. Each flower group has 5 stones. The whole thing could use a light cleaning but I don't want to mess anything up in any way. Description: This is a nice copper art vase done in the Brutalist style and probably dates from the early 60s. It was made from industrial materials. It almost looks like the artist made a copper vase from a length of pipe and then wrapped it in wire and then torched and rolled it to get the raised. Abstract relief effect before polishing it. The size. Scale and weight of it as well as the natural patina makes me think it could be a Curtis– Jere piece. The vase stands 8 1/4” tall and 2 1/2" wide. It weighs almost 2 ½ lbs. and feels quite hefty for its size. I cannot find any mark or signature but my guess is that there would originally have been a sticker on the blue felt base pad of the vase. The color and patina are what you’d expect of a piece of this vintage but please look atr all of my pictures to judge color and condition ... morefor yourself. But the marks above the texture make it look wheel thrown. The base could be added on, and the concave bottom makes the UND mark look like a ring. This is a wonderful mid century metal owl sculpture done in the C Jere brutalist style. The metal(which I believe to be copper. has a wonderful patina with rich autumn colors. This owl is a large one. He stands a little over 13" tall. And is about 9" wide and around 5" deep. It is difficult to describe condition. It has multiple dents and wholes in the metal which I don't know whether they are original to the unique piece or not. It does show wear around the eyes with some rust. See photos. This pendant is about 2 ¾ inches long. And is attached to 2 pieces of chain, each about 11 ½ inches long. The pendant is made from silver colored metal which I think is pewter. And has 2 blue cabochon stones that I believe are glass. The back is marked BB Y9 Handmade Handarbete Sweden. This is the mark of Bengt Blomqvist. The Swedish artist known for his moderninst pewter pieces. Every time I look at this I think of an owl. But that may be just me, and I don’t know if the artist intended that at all. I’ve doubled up the chain on the neck form so you can see how the pendant hangs. It can only be closed at the chain ends. So it will hand lower on a person’s neck. The jump ring closure has a faint gold filled mark on it and is slightly yellow in color. So it is not original to the necklace. 1970s Brutalist Metal Bird Sculpture Wall Jere Era Modernist Torch Cut Signed W
This is such an amazing brass wall hanging. Brutalist style, with birds welded to a frame. Finish is brass with lots of patina/color to it, approximately 26" w x 16" h. 6" projection at deepest point. Edges are torch cut. There is a signature on the back, just"W" or"3" see 5th photo) This is a lovely piece for your mid-century home, in excellent condition. This item is from an estate sale. So I don't know about smoking, pets, etc. This“as is” so ask questions before bidding. I am not an expert. Just a person who loves to find great items at estate sales. I can’t keep it all. Absract Modern Art Pin / Brooch Pot Metal & Brass? Vintage Brutalist? Sculpture
~ Please read all text& scroll down to see all photos ~ This is a unique art jewelry piece: an abstract modern art pin/brooch. In what looks like the Brutalist style. Measuring 2" x 1.5" It is impressivley large. It looks like pot metal with a small brass ball near top, but as there are some places where you can almost see glimmers of brass underneath the darker finish, I can't say for sure if it is all brass or a mix of pot metal and brass. A magnet does not stick to it. To me. It looks like it depicts a decrepit urban building, but I can't say what the artist's intentions were. It is darker than it appears in photos(more like a gunmetal color) and the little brass ball is quite shiny. There is what appears to be a name scratched on the back, but it is faint and I can't make it out. Condition is overall good; ... morethere are no cracks or breaks and pin looks straight and works well. There is some light soilage(I have not attempted to clean it) Mostly on the back, but it looks worse in the photos than it actually is. Otherwise, this piece just shows normal use/wear of a gently pre-owned item. A neat piece of jewelry; a neat piece of art. This is being sold as an"as found.
