3-D Metal Art Ski,Skiers,Skiing-Curtis Jere?
Awesome craftsmanship of tin or metal work. This group of downhill skiiers is made or cut from all metal componets with shades of copper. Golden brass, bronze and silver tin, all fused together to give it an outstanding appearance. It has a ring or hook on the back side for hanging on the wall. It would look great in a ski lodge or over the mantel of a nice fireplace or any wall of someone who loves skiing, winter sports or outdoors. The details are great, as they are all dressed in their ski apparel complete with goggles and ski hat. It measures 41- 3/4 inches in length and 16 inches tall and protrudes several inches from the wall for a fabulous 3-D decor. It looks like or resembles the work of Curtis Jere, but I can't find a signature or date. Happy bidding.

Mid-century wall art by C. Jere. Signed 1982 ~ Falling Leaves ~ solid brass bowed 3 branches soldered together with delicate cascading gold brass leaves similar to the 3 leaf bamboo. 44" long x 19" across, this has extended brass rings with tufted cotton for safely securing on the wall. In very good to excellent condition, there are some leaves that are bent but can be carefully bent back into shape and it needs a little light polishing with a soft rag. Signed original C. This Curtis Jere wall art sculpture is probably as close to its original finish as possible. When this piece came to us. It was not broken, but was badly scratched(see photos) so we hired a former professional artist to restore it. He worked for many years in central California as a commissioned artist working in metal sculpture among other media. We will provide a certificate of restoration from the artist as well as his appraisal of its retail value of $1500 for insurance purposes. This sculpture has been signed on the front by Jere and retains its original factory sticker on the back. This particular sculpture does not appear to come up for sale often. Dimensions are 57 inches ... morelong and 26 inches tall. It is assembled from two pieces and mounts on the wall with three mounting brackets and three stand-offs. We carefully weighed the matter of having this sculpture restored. Some are of the opinion that it seriously diminishes the value of a piece. It was our conclusion that the finish was so badly scratched that only by restoring it would it be appreciated once again. The restoration expert did such a wonderful job. Being careful not to do any more than was necessary, this piece should be considered as excellent. As for shipping. We want to consider this a piece of artwork, not just a wall hanging. Its protection during shipping is a prime concern to us. For this reason, the restoration artist is constructing a custom packing crate for shipping. This auction is for one rare 1978 Curtis Jere geometric shapes wall sculpture. We are getting ready to move. So we are scaling back some of our art pieces. This piece is signed"C. Jere 1978" in black paint on one of the chrome shapes. There is also a gold foil label on the back of the piece that reads"FINE SCULPTURES BY C. JERE ARTISAN HOUSE, INC. LOS ANGELES CALIF. SEE PICTURE) Cosmetically, the chrome and brass shapes have scratches and spots of surface rust(see pictures) It needs to be cleaned. Vintage Mid Century Modern Brutalist sunburst face Emaus brass wall sculpture reminiscent of Curtis Jere designs. This wall hanging is stamped(impressed) on the back"5 Emaus 83" It retains the old paper label on the back and has a hook for hanging on the wall. It also has a hole on the underside for displaying on a wooden stand. The wooden stand was not found with the piece. Emaus made high-quality hand-cut and welded metal sculptures in Mexico during the 1960's and 70's. This sunburst face wall sculpture also has a nice patinated bronzed finish. It is quite large measuring 31" across and 29" tall. This fabulous vintage Emaus sunburst face wall sculpture is in very good condition ... morewith just a bit of irregularity in the spacing of the"rays" near the bottom where the insert hole for the stand is located. VIntage C. Jere Enameled Copper Flower in Quartz Base A nice vintage. Modern sculpture by Curtis Jeré, the company founded in 1963 by Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels to bring"gallery-quality art for the masses. C. Jeré" became the pseudonym for their American, hand-made works. This sculpture of a flower is constructed out of enameled and patinated sheet copper. Copper wire, and quartz. The flower is enameled in three colors-blue, yellow and green- the leaves patinated a lovely green color, and the quartz base has red-orange iron inclusions in the top. The piece is 13.5" tall and 19.5" wide(the way the leaves are currently positioned; they could be moved if desired) The base is 6.5" by 2.75" by 3" tall. The stem isn't fixed into it. I purchased this years ago from Peter Knego who unearthed it from the mud in I believe Agra, India when the ship was dismantled. Measures 49.25 in x 23.5 x.5. This panel was located to the right of the door and the(2) vertical repairs are where the beer taps were placed originally, and the little dents along the right side are from the servers! This C. Jere wall sculpture is signed and dated 1982 on the lower part of the eastern hemisphere. The sculpture is two pieces representing the east and west hemispheres of the globe. The sculpture is constructed of metal and is highlighted with a green paint. Both pieces of the sculpture measure 27 1/2 inches in diameter and are convex in shape so they extend out 5 inches from the wall. Wind swept metal tree in the style of Jere
This is about 15" tall. 14" long and 11" wide. I guess the trunk is steel and the leaves are brass. There is no signature but it is in the style of Jere. There is a bit of wire on a branch that may have once had a tag but now only the wire is left. As photos show it is dusty. There are a few leaves missing and a few branches may be bent or missing. She has asked me to sell it for her. I believe it dates from the mid-century era based on the other items and catalogs found in the house. The tree is reminiscent of the Curtis Jere metal sculptures. I do not know the maker of this item. The tree is beautifully crafted with small leaves(incised with lines but too difficult to photograph) and small polished petals. The individual branches are set upon an openwork design of spreading roots. The design is very delicate. Airy and striking. The sculpture quivers or flutters when you shake it or walk past it. It does not have a base. I think it would look great with a wood or stone base or even attached ... moreto a wall. I thought it might fit into the category of a kinetic type sculpture because it does have some movement. The tree is 8 3/4" tall and the base is about 6 3/4" wide. hi this is another attr. to curtis jere similar to the owls listed here on ebay. this came from the same estate and has the same beak and eyes made out of brass as the owls. It looks more like a chicken to me than an owl so the buyer can decide what kind of bird it is. This bird sits flat on the surface. It is unknown if it had feet my opinion is it did not as it is so large it would be difficult for it to stand. the size is.9 inches tall,9 inches wide and almost 11 inches beak to tail. Description: This is a nice copper art vase done in the Brutalist style and probably dates from the early 60s. It was made from industrial materials. It almost looks like the artist made a copper vase from a length of pipe and then wrapped it in wire and then torched and rolled it to get the raised. Abstract relief effect before polishing it. The size. Scale and weight of it as well as the natural patina makes me think it could be a Curtis– Jere piece. The vase stands 8 1/4” tall and 2 1/2" wide. It weighs almost 2 ½ lbs. and feels quite hefty for its size. I cannot find any mark or signature but my guess is that there would originally have been a sticker on the blue felt base pad of the vase. The color and patina are what you’d expect of a piece of this vintage but please look atr all of my pictures to judge color and condition ... morefor yourself. Vintage ZODIAC Astrology Brutal Metal Floating Table Mid Century Modern Jere Era
Offered is a vintage mid century modern brutal mixed metal table. This is an early piece of metal art. This is ultra rare and extremely unique. The table has a metal base which a large round brass and copper pan rests upon. Each individual copper piece hand applied and welded with large relief astrology animals and people symbols surrounding the large star brass inner pan. There are rods welded that support the glass top. This is one of the finest pieces of art. The table will mesh in any decor. It does show wear commensurate with age on the base bottom and you may wish to clean it up to remove any oxidation or repaint to your liking. The glass top has a tiny chip on rim edge along with surface abrasions due to age and use. You can probably have it polished. But I would simply replace it. It would be very expensive to ship the glass, but ... moreif you wanted it I would include it for an additional $140 shipping. Rare find and sold as is. Vintage Composite Burwood Wall Decor Set Jere Eames Mid Century Danish Modern
Up for bid is a nice set of flying geese wall décor by Burwood Product Company. USA. Although they mimic the appearance of wood- faux wood grain- they are made of some type of composite material. The off white geese have some areas where they are missing a little of the cream colored paint or finish. They are fastened to the plaques with screws on the underside. They could probably be removed, touched up and reattached, if need be. They measure almost 19 inches long and are about 13 1/2 inches at widest point.
