Vintage pottery fish tray designed by LaGardo Tackett. Off-white surface glaze has incised skeletal line design with black accents. Measures 8 7/8 inches long and 6 inches wide. The brown marks along one edge are glaze. Not loss. Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or crazing, just two very tiny flea bites on the rim. This hard to find part of the Lagardo Tackett Schmid 1959 Globe Canister set is in amazing condition. There are no chips or breaks I can find. There's crackling in the glaze from age. I believe this is the tea canister and measures approximately 7.5" tall with lid and 6" round. These are very approximate measurements. I found an article written by F. Peter Swanson, MD, a physician and avid modern architecture enthusiast called"Discovering LaGardo Tackett" written for Connecticut Explored. Winter 2010/2011. LaGardo tack TACKETT Schmid Porcelain WHITE Coffee Pot& Creamer Set This is a nice Coffee and Creamer set from LaGardo Tackett. They truly have a very unique style of mid-century modern. Each of the items are off-white in color and do show signs of usage. But they are over 60 years old! The coffee pot has stains on its side and bottom and the finish shows crazing. maybe this is the way it was originally. I can not tell because I just found these) The creamer shows crazing also. But not the stains(since it was used for cream) Unfortunately it has a small chip out of the spout that you can see in one of the pictures. I didn't notice it at first, but in running my fingers over the spout I could feel it. Each are stamped on the bottom with Designed by S B Tackett 1958 Benuine Ironstone. The spout has a small chip on the front of it. It ... moreis not very noticeable since it is black and blends in very well. The lid has a small chip on the underside. This decanter is so fun. It was designed for Kahlua by LaGardo Tackett. A mid-century modernist designer who was based in L.A. His minimalist ceramic designs are simple, cool, and elegant-and his pieces are highly sought-after and collectible. Love the streamlined form of this container! The striking black and white“Russian” is also great. The decanter is in extremely nice condition although the cork over the left eye is missing as is the original Kahlua label. No cracks, no chips, and a fine example of mid-century design.

A 8 piece set designed by LaGardo Tackett for Schmid International of Japan. Set has 4 cake plates and 4 coffee cups all with the Tack stamp on the bottom. The Mugs have a green exterior and white interior and measure 3"Tx2.25D. The plates are white with a 3 leaf clover design. An indention for the mug to rest and measure.75"H x 8.25"D. The set comes in the original box that shows minor signs of age but the mugs and plates look to have never been used so are in mint condition.

LaGardo Tackett Kalhua Bottles Decanters Mid Century Modern
The first bottle is a Kahlua Black Russian liquor bottle distributed by Jules Berman and Associates. Beverley Hills, California. Designed by LaGardo Tackett. Condition of the bottle is good, missing the cap and the original label is worn with tape holding on one of the corners. There are a few very tiny flea bites to the bottom edge that are unnoticeable unless you run your finger across it. Displays well. 11 inches tall, 4 inches wide. The second bottle is speculated to have been altered by Kahlua to sell in Mexico because they could not get the rights to distribute the original Tackett design. Good condition. Missing the cap, worn top sticker and faded back sticker. There is a small smudge of red paint or something on it that I did not attempt to remove. 10 inches tall, 4 inches wide. Vtg RARE 50s LaGardo Tackett SCHMID Spanish Fly EGGHEAD Condom Stash 1959 w Cork
Up for auction is this hard to find SPANISH FLY egg head condom holder. This Lagardo Tackett(Tack) 1959 egghead condom stash has it's original cork stopper lid. Measures approx. 8 3/4 inches tall. Manufactured by Schmid International. This is a very collectible item which is increasing in value. Condition is excellent with no chips or cracks. Storage marks on the bottom. They were made and marketed by mail order in 1958 and 1959(primarily through Playboy and Esquire Magazine) as condom holders. They were also marketed as snack holders ie. pretzels. Etc- or something to hang your hat on! These witty, whimsical, eggheads were marketed by Playboy and Esquire as bedside storage for condoms back in the swinging 50s and 60s. It was a limited run with limited pieces. This, the Spanish Fly, is one of the more difficult to obtain. The porcelain ... morehead is hollow with a cork underneath which kept the contents secure. It is very fortunate that this one still has it's cork as often they are missing. I have not attempted to remove the cork. LaGardo Tackett operated a studio in Southern California and produced exceptional architectural mid century modern pottery pieces during the fifties. I have a nice mid century modern Schmid Tack demitasse set by Lagardo Tackett in 1960. This set is as found from a local estate. There is one little flea bit chip shown in pic. Other than that it is in great condition no other chips. Cracks, crazing or dishwasher etching. Each piece is marked with the makers mark and they even have the original paper Japan label on all but 2 pieces. The cups are about 4" tall and 1 3/4" wide, the saucers are 4" wide and have a 1/2" rim. This is a nice set and would make a great addition to any collection. Up for grabs is a very unique and rare cookie jar by Lagardo Tackett. This is an egg shaped cookie jar with a wooden face for the lid! This measures approximately 10" tall and 8" wide. The bottom is marked: Designed by Tack 1958. There are NO chips. Cracks, or hairlines! There is light crazing all over, and heavier crazing as you approach the base along with discoloration. There are a few molding flaws such as pinholes and bumps. The lid has some paint wear and worn edges, but the nose and eyes are very much intact. This cookie jar is a must for any collector! MId Century Danish Modern Pottery Lagardo Tackett? Fish Bowl Large 16" by 9" Hot
This is a very exciting piece of mid century pottery that is unsigned and is likely Lagardo Tackett. This is in a fish free form triangular asymmetrical design with the fish design in the center. The trademark Tackett eye is not on this piece but the clay and glazes sure are familiar. The top rim has a smoothed over flaw that is probably an old chip just under 1/2" long. The bowl is large 16 1/4" long and 9 1/4" at its widest point. One side is taller than the other and the tall side measures 3 1/2" tall and the low 3" The bottom has normal wear for its age and I think this is from the early 50's as the previous owner had much Danish inherited from her parents. This was tucked away in the garage waiting to be found. The piece has 1/2" thick walls at the top. I am in San Jose Ca. Local pick up and pre bid ... moreinspection can be arranged. MCM LaGardo Tackett for Schmid Ironstone Mini Casserole Original Wicker Holder
Mid Century Modern mini ironstone casserole is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Body shows very slight crazing but the base does show some. There is a tad bit of rust at the metal handles as well as one tiny spot on the red toggle where the paint has chipped, this is very clean and displays beautifully! Dimensions are approximately as follows: Lid 4 ¾ inch diameter. Bowl 4 ½ inch diameter and stands about 2 inches tall with the lid on. This is a rare find as it has stayed with its original wicker holding basket with the Japan sticker still intact!
