Offering this antique Royal Doulton 9 1/4" cabinet plate with a hand painted under glaze floral pattern. The plate's border is a deep green color and has gilt gold detail in the"Persian Spray" style. There are incised manufacturer marks that read" DOULTON'S" and" 6- 84" that indicates a production date of 1884. I also noticed what appears to read" as A1774" Which is probably the pattern number and the letters"W and J" I believe these are the artist initials, but I have not been able to determine the name. This is one of six similar Royal Doulton plates that I currently have listed on eBay. Each plate has a different floral design that has been hand painted by the same artist. One is about 10 3/4" and the other about 9 5/8" There is a lovely raised rope pattern inside of the scalloped border. CONDITION: Considering their material and age. They look great. The larger one has very fine crazing, not really visible, and one little nick on the underside edge of the rim. Very minor. The smaller one has two little blemishes on the rim where the scallop dips inward. With a 25x loupe, they look more like glaze skips than damage, although one might be a very small loss. For sale is an aesthetic-style partial chamber set in an oriental motif from a Staffordshire pottery. Images depict a Japanese building. Koi, heron, small birds, and yellow and red chrysanthemum. There is an embossed design on the upper and lower portions of both the pitcher and toothbrush holder, and on the lower portion of the mug. The registry mark on the bases dates these to 4 June 1878. The pitcher measures 12" tall; the holder measures 5 3/4" tall; and the mug 3 1/2" tall. There are no chips. Cracks, or repairs to any of the pieces.

Amazing Victorian Period Gothic spelter photograph frame. The frame has a beautiful bronze finish. I have owned this for many years. And have only seen one other like it. Over all measures 12 by 8 inches, photo area 3 3/4 by 5 1/4. Condition is remarkable the steeple top has a bend, the other I had mentioned was bent as well, so I believe it was cast in that way. Made by K& G(Keller& Guerin) in Luneville, France. Marked"Ceillet" not sure if this is the pattern name or not, Replacements Ltd does not list this pattern. These fine dishes are ceramic or pottery in an ivory or off-white color with brown carnation flowers and brown leaf-like edge trim. Only 2 of the dinner plates are marked with the shown pic, all have impressed marks which could be date marks, but they vary. There are 8 dinner plates which measure 9-1/2" in diameter& 7 salad plates that measure 8-1/8" in diameter. Only one dinner plate has a small edge chip, I could find no other chips, cracks, discoloration, stains or even ... moreany scratches on any of these plates. There are a few minor underglaze pimples. Pin-prick marks and a couple of tiny lines on the back side of a few of the dishes, certainly not unusual considering their age. These dishes were probably never actually used. My internet search turned up no others of this pattern or name. A rare find for a collector of dishes from this era!

It is beautifully decorated in a manner that was inspired by the Aesthetic movement as pictured. The jug has been assayed in Birmingham during 1888 by Hilliard& Thomason. It measures 3" high and on my electronic scales it weighs 2.67 ounces(75.8g) The jug has typical age related light/ faint surface scuffing and scratching over the silver surfaces. There are no particular dents or dings around the bodywork as far as I can tell. So nothing really nasty or serious report as you can see from the photographs above. C.1880; base don a Christopher Dresser design, and manufactured/retailed by Davis& Sons, Glasgow. They measure 11" long. As you can see. The plating is somewhat worn on both servers; this is a very even wear, and they have a light goldish colour all over. Christopher Dresser Benham & Froud Large Chamberstick Candlestick Fine Condition
Here we have a very fine candlestick or chamberstick designed by Dr Christopher Dresser in I believe the 1880s. It was manufactured probably by Benham and Froud. Or possibly by James Henry Stone, of Birmingham. It has the Rd number 53791 on the iron screw in the base. This particular example has been extremely well looked after. And has very little to detract from it's pristine condition. There is a small dent on the base on the middle"ring" Please see the pictures for closeup detail. The turned ebonised wooden handle is in good clean condition. The whole candlestick stands straight. Although it has been kept gently polished for many years. It still retains a lovely patina in the hard-to-reach areas. This is the rare large size candlestick. Far less common than the medium or small versions. Antique Metal Vintage Vase Spooner Basket Victorian Aesthetic Silverplated
Beautiful old Aesthetic silver plated metal is so ornate. Nature inspired and lovely! The original finish is completely darkened with age, with the shimmer of the etching standing out in contrast. I have a rare Aesthetic Movement brass door knocker c. 1880s. its in relatively good condition. But has heavy patina and a bit of tarnish. The bar connecting the two balls at the top is a bit rusted and might need a bit of wd40 to loosen it. Also there is a bit of surface ware and one of the two prongs on the top round piece is missing but is not required to mount it on a door. It comes as is and has been left in pretty much original condition. HUTTON CHRISTOPHER DRESSER INTEREST A superb pair of silver plated table spoons which are by Hutton of Sheffield. They have the most amazing'face' design which is very much in the manner of Dr Christopher Dresser and whilst I understand he designed items for Hutton I have been unable to track this specific design down. The history of Hutton is as follows: The firm was established in Birmingham by William Hutton in 1800 and transferred to Sheffield in 1832 where the firm was active as manufacturing silversmiths and platers. After his death the business was continued under the same style by the founder's son William Carr Hutton until 1864. When the name was changed to William Hutton& ... moreSon. This was a partnership of William Carr Hutton and his youngest son Herbert Hutton. William Carr Hutton died in 1865 and c. 1870 Herbert Hutton Sr. was joined by his brothers James Edward Hutton and Robert and the name was changed to William Hutton& Sons. A London showroom was opened in 1863. In 1893 the firm acquired Rupert Favell& Co(manufacturer silversmith at Bucknall Street. Oxford Street, London) and in the same year became William Hutton& Sons Ltd. The firm acquired Creswick& Co in 1902. Beginning to use their crossed arrows marks. The last Hutton family MD was Herbert Hutton Jr. before the company failed in 1930. The firm was absorbed by James Dixon& Sons in 1930. These spoons have'Hutton Sheffield' as well as the crossed swords mark. Measurements: each are just under 8.5inches long. Condition: Pretty good. The top tile is a later replacement(it is an antique Minton scenic cottage tile) The table top takes an 8"x 8" tile which would not be very difficult to find if an original Longwy tile is preferred. The table measures 32 7/8" tall. The top is 13 1/2" square. The Minton tile has some surface wear, no cracks or other damage. The metal shows expected wear/gilt loss, very nice ... moreoverall. This rare gem is 148 years old TODAY. This is an original Furnival's Portland Vase. The marking on the bottom dates it to the Aesthetic period. More specifically October 13, 1866. There is also an imprint on the bottom that reads" FURNIVAL" on the rim, I could not get my camera to capture the picture. This is a VERY large vase, it measures 11 inches tall by about 8 inches wide at the widest point. There are some flaws, please see all the photo's. There are several hairline cracks, some crazing and loss of the gold rim at the top. There is a small chip in the glaze at the bottom. The pictures are taken to serve as a more detailed description. I have a rare Aesthetic Movement hat pin with a Pre Rafaelite portrait of a medieval/renaissance lady c. 1880s/1890s. Its painted/printed onto what looks to be some type of leather or animal hide. The frame around the portrait is made of intricately detailed bronze/brass and hand hammered around the backplate. The pin is in relatively good condition for its age. With some ware to the surface of the back plate and patina on the frame. A very unusual Aesthetic piece for a serious collector.

These delightful comports combine the new Aesthetic and Japanese influences of the late 19th Century, with a freer more naturalistic design and the use of asymmetry, along with the English love of nature. This designs have French influences, and resemble work of some of the French designers, such as Bracquemond. The designer, Pierre Mallet, was French, but worked in England with Minton and other major English companies, in the 1870s. 9.5 inches wide. No chips. This 19th century wash basin and pitcher are transfer printed in maroon red with a pearlware glaze on a creamy white base. The large basin bowl is 15 3/4" in diameter and stands 4 3/4" tall. The massive jug stands 11 1/2" tall x 9" wide. This exceptional Aesthetic pattern features large stalks and foliage with chrysanthemums and Kingfishers. With a nice transfer border on handles resembling a necklace of jewels. The pitcher handle is beautifully rendered in a classical style with raised horizontal grip segments and Greek Spirals. The top of the pitcher is octagonal shaped. The piece is unmarked. But likely made by a pottery working in the Staffordshire region of England during the 19th century. a large Christopher Dresser plate for Linthorpe English Aesthetic Movement 1890s
a large decorative Aesthetic Movement plate designed by Christopher Dresser made at the Linthorpe Pottery in England circa 1890 the plate has an impressed design of a stylized bird sitting in foliage. it has a green glaze with colour variations created by the inconsistent thickness. The center of the plate has a deep emerald green colour where the glaze is at its thickest. At the outer edge of the plate it is almost white where the glaze is thin. There are a couple of areas on the outside of the rim where the glaze has not covered. it measures 27 cm across x 4.1 cm deep the plate has no chips or cracks. It has a number of surface scratches most notably where the impressed image has left raised areas in the center of the plate. There are 3 rough marks where the triangular kiln stand has rested during firing. The underside of the plate has ... more3 small bumps also from a kiln stand. Antique 1880 Linnaeus& K Co. Brown Transferware Aesthetic Movement Baby's Plate in excellent condition. This plate is 100 plus years old. The plate has a floral scene with a framed picture of a cow and nursing calf transposed in the center. There is a floral border around the top edge and"Baby's Plate" at the top. The plate is very heavy and deep and has a foot that extends out to prevent spillage of food or tipping over. Plate is 7 1/2" across the top. 8 1/4" across the bottom and 1 1/2" deep. The plate is very good with no chips or cracks, has a couple of flaws in the glaze which is typical and a couple of use scratches inside. Antique Wedgwood Victorian Aesthetic Transferware in Teal Blue Color. Edinburg Pattern- 1884 Cut Corner Comport MARKS Impressed directly on the body of the piece is uppercase marks"WEDGWOOD" and"NPM" NPM" is Wedgwood 3 letter date code where third letter in the group of three is associated with production year. M indicates production year of 1884. reference: DESCRIPTION This variation of"Edinburg" pattern features intricate zigzag and whimsical lace-like concentric rings that form distinctive"Edinburg" border. Center scene depicts foreground of plentyfull blooms in the large flowerpot. Grasses, flowers, and birds on dogwood tree brunches surrounding and framing lovely and incredibly detailed vignette of Edinburgh countryside with trees and church by the water. COMMENTS Wedgwood's"Edinburg" ... morepattern is pretty distinct in the gallery of aesthetic transfer patterns. There is no other pattern with a similar mix of exotic aestheticism(as represented by the pot holding flowers) and fresh air and country romance(exemplified by the scenic vignette and overhanging branch) Surviving examples would seem to indicate that"Edinburg" and"Ivanhoe" patterns must have seen great favor with the public. While there is no such cut corner shape in"Ivanhoe. both share the consistent teal or slate blue in their color choices. DIMENSIONS: 7" x 5.5" x 1.5" CONDITION: fine. With no chips, cracks or repairs. A close look reveals some utensil marks( at the front right, at the edge of the border. As to be expected, some crazing and discoloration are evident(at the rear of the dish) as a testament to its antique age. This comport has lustrous finish. Rare Antique French Cast Metal Mirror Moorish Revival Orientalist Islamic Bronze
A fabulous and rare antique French cast metal mirror. In the Moorish Revival/ Orientalist style. The back of the glass is stamped with maker's mark"K. Aine" and dated 1884. The mirror is very heavy with a rich bronze patina. I suspect the metal may be white metal, as there are areas of wear to the patina on the edges of the ornate design, and the exposed metal looks grey. There are scattered areas of green and white oxidation throughout, and scattered overall surface wear and scratches. Some scratches on the back appear silver, others have a brassy, gold color, so there are arguments for this being bronze. At the base of the glass is a protruding shelf like area which has two holes. It appears something was once mounted here. The back plate appears to be tin and was finished to match the rest of the metal. The mirror glass has ... moreheavy wear to the silvering and black spots throughout as shown. The back plate is missing several screws and some are replacements. There is a thick piece of cardboard placed between the glass and tin plate to prevent shifting. This amazing piece measures 26.75" high x 15.75" across x 2.75" deep and weighs a whopping 22 lbs.
