One of my favorite lamps. Small and cute(19" Tall with an 8" D shade) and the light comes on bright and lights up an actual fabric type cloth-like lamp shade. I have a rare Japanese Aesthetic Movement Satsuma vase w. white cranes carrying a ribbon of cherry blossoms c. 1880s/1890s. Its from the Meiji Era and was likely produced in the Kyoto area. Its in very good condition and measures about 6 inches tall and 3 1/4 inches wide. A very nice example of Japanese work from this period.

A stunning pair of richly-decorated jugs or ewers from(not yet"Royal" Doulton out of their London pottery at Lambeth. On the south bank of the Thames. They measure approx. 8.5 inches tall. 4.7 inches in diameter at the widest point and weigh 650 and 725 grams respectively. Produced under the direction of Doulton's brilliant art director John Slater. And signed by the various members of his team, they date from between 1880 and 1890 and feature a flamboyant floral pattern in white. Cerulean blue and bronze on a ground resembling lizard skin. The handles and necks are bright acid yellow with intricate. Hand-painted decorations and come together at the undulating. Bull's blood necks. Antique Bradley Hubbard Ornate Stick Ball Fireplace Tools Stand Cast Iron
I am pleased to offer this wonderful old fireplace tool stand by Bradley& Hubbard. There is a slight slant to the arms the hold the tools BUT I also took slanted pictures(sorry about that) and there is nut that will allow you to adjust the arms. I have left that to the new owner. There are two tools in good condition and a third(the log pincher) that has a break at the handle which I will gladly include if the buyer wants it. It should be an easy repair. Because of the fragile nature of old cast iron and the delicate nature of the design please know that this item will be packed with lots of padding and double boxed.

An Antique hand painted porcelain plate. With impressed mark of BSM in square( Austrian: Becher, Stark, Merklin) Measuring approx. 8.5" across, this aesthetic porcelain plate is just plain beautiful! Scalloped rim of pinwheel design, with gold accent center dots. Both outer rim and inner border were originally decorated in gold. Lovely pink, yellow, white, and rust bell like flowers adorn plate, along with long leaves and fern like plants. Golden accent back drop of moon, clouds, and foliage against a pinkish/ peach inner circle. Just a beautiful cabinet plate with Japanese flavor. Condition is very good with no cracks or chips. There is overall gold accent loss on outer scalloped rim, but plate is just gorgeous! I stand behind all items and their descriptions. Returns are for items not as described. Howard Sterling Co cufflinks signed theater theme Noh mask puppet c1880 scarce
These cufflinks are made by the Howard Sterling Co. Rhode Island, 1878-1902) They measure 3/4" x 1/4" approximately. They are joined by a hook/chain. The theme appears to be that of the theatre: the oval part has the image of a Noh(Japanese theatre mask) and the rectangular piece has the image of a jester's stick puppet(marotte) The aesthetic period 1885-1901 was a time when Japanese styling and art greatly influenced designers. This would account for the inclusion of a Noh theater reference in the design of these cufflinks. The Howard Sterling Company seemed to pick up on contemporary(of the times) themes for some of their jewelry pieces. See the 3 Little Maids from School pin, from the Mikado elsewhere on the web. Aesthetic Movement Brass Spirit Kettle Reg.1883 Christopher Dresser
A Christopher Dresser style heavy gauge. 3 pint brass kettle on stand with the Victorian diamond registration mark for 1883. A very well crafted piece with ebonised wooden handles and knob. The underside of the lid is marked'Best London Made' and has an insulated layer beneath the knob which is attractively pierced. Around the outer edge of the tinned lid is the number 360, 3 pints and GL or GP. The kettle has a beaten concave bottom for maximum heat absorption from the burner.which is missing The kettle fits well on the stand and although the stand has no makers mark, it is the same gauge as the kettle handles and is probably the original. The condition is good, there is a dint on the upper side, please view photographs. I had some fair experiences as an antiques dealer for many years. In the past and, that said, I am as close to certain as possible, without making absolute guarantee, that the medium is, indeed, gutta percha. 1/4" long x 5 1/8" wide- Lacking ink bottle. But they are findable, and you may indeed wish to position something else in that position- Good condition. It is 60” Wide, 62” High and 20” Deep. The piece came from a mansion in the historic Adams district of Los Angeles(the site of the original Doheny estate) The piece dates to circa 1875. It appears to have been made by Kimbel& Cabus. And has many of the design elements shown in a photo from the 1875 Catalog and the exhibit at the 1876 Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia. Made before marking wares was mandatory(last part of the 19th century) This unmarked ladle measures just over 18” and weighs just over one pound! It will do very well in an over-sized punch bowl. The bowl is simple and measures 4 ½” by 3” and the handle has a beautiful flower and garland handle. Needless to say it is very sturdy. Condition is very good with no plate loss or other defects.

I confess to being unsure of the origin of this lovely vase hence my question mark as to whether it is indeed Oriental(Chinese or Japanese) or in the style of. Purchased from an antique shop some time ago. It was simply described as an antique hand painted/enamelled bottle vase and I purchased it for its beautifully hand painted aesthetic design. Strange looking sea urchins. Large petal flowers(paeonies? wisteria type tree and lots more, all in vibrant gloss colours painted on a matt black ground. Gilding to top and bottom rim. Made from thick pottery. It weighs a respectable 530gms. Size is 18cms(7.5 inches) height. No marks to base. Condition: Very good. Vibrant high gloss colours. The rim has a small indent which I believe to be a flaw rather than a chip as the gilding is intact and the true colour. Regardless. It does not detract in any ... moreway. Any wear is minimal and commensurate with age.

Large Old Cast Iron Plaque High Relief Nature Morte Aethestic Fish Snake Reeds
Antique Bronzed Iron Plaque Aethestic Art Nouveau Nature Morte Fish Snake Reeds From a recent local estate sale. One phenomenal piece of cast iron work in the form of an oval plaque with high relief nature morte of freshly caught fish hanging amongst cattails, flowering vines, with a snake intertwined. Measures just shy of 20" tall, 12" wide, and weighs 8 lbs. It was found in an early 19th century barn, and was covered with decades of dirt of all types. I lightly cleaned it with soap and water. Much of the old bronze finish remains, though as photos show there is loss and degradation both to bronze finish and background black which is either black patination to the bronze from age or as manufactured, or? All particularly evident at left half. Photos are both with and without flash, and plenty of closeups. I have no idea of the original ... moreuse, perhaps at a 19th C sportmans hunting/fishing club or lodge. There are threaded holes top and bottom at back, as well as the integral piece with the old wire hanger attached. I found no letters or numbers or markings that would indicate maker. This is an astonishingly early date for such a modern design. At first glance this design looks like a later Art Deco pattern but it was registered in 1876. There is no maker mark but at this early date it is highly probable these were designed Dr Christopher Dresser. Colours: Light blue. Tangerine, lemon yellow, pink, red& pale green. The Design Registry lozenge has the letter V in the date quarter. This equates to 1876. The saucers measure 5¼ inches diameter. Condition: The light blue glaze has some blemish marks in the surface. It is wonderfully adorned/ embossed with what I could call'aesthetic armor' medallions, wheels, sunflowers, gold wavy line borders etc. and colors are classic Victorian. Base/ maker marks are shown, but I don't know what they are. and love that the handle back is decorated. from the 1880's I'd say. or maybe 1890's. Exquisite Organic Amphora Earthenware Bulb Bowl Roses RSTK Teplitz Dachsel
I have for your discernible consideration a superb example of Amphora craftsmanship. Manufactured in the Bohemian area of Turn Teplitz. This is most likely a bulb bowl design. Very organic. Pinched and molded. Gorgeous mottled matte glazes. Hand applied petals. Stems and leaves. The roses are painted with a gold gilt. They have a random tint of dark pink on some petals. The pottery has a quatrefoil mouth of 7 1/4" at greatest diameters. The height is 3 1/2" At close inspection I see and feel four areas of chips on the leaves and petals. This is not unusual with these types of ware. They are so delicate and difficult to keep in pristine condition. Very difficult to visualize the areas of trauma though, due to the amount of embellishment. The mouth and base are without trauma. There are no cracks to the body. Model# 3938. With an ... moreadditional number impressed of 58. The model number would attribute this design as by the master Paul Dachsel. The modeler being the 58. See an example on pg 141(Richard Scott's House of Amphora) of the modeler number with the close range of model numbers on these pages. I would speculate the dates are about the same for manufacturing also putting this piece at about 1901-1903. Firm trademarks AM4 and AM8. Both impressed. This is heavy and substantial earthenware. Magnificent Victorian Aesthetic Movement/Eastlake Ebonized & Painted Firescreen
Offered for auction is this magnificent Victorian Aesthetic Movement ebonized and gilded fire screen. When we found it the center piece was missing. So we had a square frame made to match the fire screen and I hand painted the interior panel in an Aesthetic Period design to match the fire screen. The fire screen itself is original and antique. Finish appears to be original. A very commanding an impressive piece. I've only ever seen one other ebonized fire screen this ornate. One old repair to one of the side posts(see photos) It is nevertheless very stable and quite usable. Otherwise I can see no other breaks or repairs to the frame. Because of the fragility and size of this item I will not ship it. Therefore it is pick up only. I will work with your own shipper or delivery person to arrange pick up of this item. Antique 1884 Wedgwood Victorian Aesthetic Transferware in Teal Blue Color. Edinburg Pattern- Cut Corner Comport Dish/ Dessert Dish MARKS Impressed directly on the body of the piece is uppercase marks"WEDGWOOD" and"NPM" NPM" is Wedgwood 3 letter date code where third letter in the group of three is associated with production year. M indicates production year of 1884. reference: DESCRIPTION This variation of"Edinburg" pattern features intricate zigzag and whimsical lace-like concentric rings that form distinctive"Edinburg" border. Center scene depicts foreground of plentyfull blooms in the large flowerpot. Grasses, flowers, and birds on dogwood tree brunches surrounding and framing lovely and incredibly detailed vignette of Edinburgh countryside with trees and church by the water. COMMENTS Wedgwood's"Edinburg" ... morepattern is pretty distinct in the gallery of aesthetic transfer patterns. There is no other pattern with a similar mix of exotic aestheticism(as represented by the pot holding flowers) and fresh air and country romance(exemplified by the scenic vignette and overhanging branch) Surviving examples would seem to indicate that"Edinburg" and"Ivanhoe" patterns must have seen great favor with the public. While there is no such cut corner shape in"Ivanhoe. both share the consistent teal or slate blue in their color choices. DIMENSIONS: 7" L. x 5.5" W. x 1.5" D. CONDITION: fine. With no chips, cracks or repairs. A close look reveals some wear marks at the front right, at the edge of the border. As to be expected, some crazing and discoloration are evident at the rear of the dish as a testament to its antique age. This comport has lustrous finish. Original architectural detail, well preserved and amazingly crisp design. It displays beautifully.
