This piece comes straight from a"BROCANTE" that my wife and I went to when we visited France back in April. A brocante is a town or village flea market which are usually held once a month. We hand caried this back in our cary on insuring that it would no be damged. It is a large piece with the plater measuring 17.5x11. The lidded bowl is 15x10x7.5. This was bought from an old French man in his 80's who told me it was his mothers. The exact age of the piece is unknown but I can tell you that there is heavy crazing through out the piece which really tells ... moreyou it's age.VERY OLD. If I had to guess at the age based on the appearance of the ceramic and crazing I would guess it to be from the early 20th century or late 19the century. There are no chips or cracks in the piece but again. Let me menition the HEAVY CRAZING through out the piece and direct your attention to the photos showing this. This item will ship INSURED for a safe worry free arrival. I have searched extensively trying to find more information about the maker of this but there was very little out there. I can tell you with confidance that you will not find another piece like this for sale on eBay or anywhere else. I have searched and these just don't come up for sale and/or are very rare. I could find no matching piece with the same pattern on the internet. I paid quite a few Euro's for this and it was not easy getting this back in one piece so I believe I am asking more than a fare price for this antique piece. Antique STAR Austria Pink/Gold Lusterware Scalloped Footed Bowl& Asparagus Dish Up for auction is a lovely pair of matching STAR Austria pink and gold lusterware porcelain dishes. There's a footed. Scalloped bowl. It's 7.75" at its widest and 6.25" at the rim widest diameter and 4.5" tall. The asparagus/ celery dish is 11" long, 5" at its widest and 2.25" tall. The border has a gold ivy leaf design and then both pieces have an ornate design. There's only slight paint loss to the gold and no chips, cracks or breaks. The bowl is marked"STAR" Austria and the other dish is incised with the number"684" and(X) I purchased this pair at an estate auction and am uncertain of its age but early 20th century is my best guess. Very Early English Soft Paste Porcelain Blue Transfer Decorated 6" Bowl.c.1800.
This very beautiful early soft paste English porcelain bowl has an oriental inspired decoration. Similar yet quite different to the early Blue Willow pieces. The transfer is a lovely powdery blue and is enhanced by a rich glaze. The bowl is 6" in diameter and just under 3" tall with a deep foot rim, characteristic of the pieces made around 1800 which is where we date this piece. Considering it is over 200 years old it is amazing that it is in such pristine condition. A truly fine collector's piece.

This too also created a very thin tight hairline running down the wall to the triangle top of the reticulation. As well as a small chip on the inner side. This hairline is more felt than seen. Meissen Porcelain Potpourri Bowl Branch Handles Applied Flowers Painted Scene
Offering a large Meissen potpourri pot or covered bowl in a rococo style made in the 19th Century. The ovoid bowl is 8 3/4" high to the top of the rose finial and approximately 10 1/2" wide from handle to handle. It has elaborate decoration with a hand painted scene of people hiking around ancient ruins which is labeled at the bottom"Near Rome. On the other side the pot is painted with roses and flowers in many colors. It has double handles fashioned as branches which crawl around the pot producing flowers. These applied flowers. Representing different varieties and in many colors, are abundant around the handles and on the lid as well. They are beautifully painted with great detailing and vivid colors. Finally, the pot is trimmed with gold filigree and bands. The condition is excellent without cracks or chips to the bowl or ... morelid. There is a chip to the end of one applied leaf and others may be discovered. There is a little sticky glue on the lid rim to keep the lid from falling off. Could be cleaned off or left for safety. Bright colors. Well preserved. The underside of the lid has the blue crossed swords of the Meissen factory.

Richly-detailed fantastic flowers and gold leaves over a matte black ground create a strong contrast in this set of pitcher and bowl. Loss of gold in both pieces(see photos) Otherwise in excellent condition: no cracks, lines, or restoration that I could detect. Height of pitcher: 7 3/4" width at the mouth: 5" side to side, and 5 1/4" from handle to tip of spout. Diameter of bowl: 11 3/4" height of bowl: 3 1/2" Returns are not accepted.

The Plates are of a great Period form known as Cabbage Leaf as well as being richly Gold Gilded. The Plates are all Hand Painted and I believe the pattern is known as Scattered Peonies. Ten of the Plates are in amazing all original condition with some overall signs of wear but no chips. Cracks or repairs, then one has a hairline and one has more craze staining. The Plates also make a lovely display, each measuring 8-3/4" wide. I am told Plates were purchased from the fine Antiques Gallery of Valerie Howard, who specializes in Masons Ironstone, so this is great provenance to have for the future. I was also told the collector paid a large sum of money for them and I doubt you will find another set like this up for auction. The Bowl is unlike any other example I have personally seen and I am sure is a Rare find indeed. The Centerpiece is the largest example I have ever seen of Mason's Cabbage Leaf. The Bowl features Rich Gold Gilt designs and exquisitely Hand Painted Flowers to the interior. The Bowl also features the most amazing large Figural Rams Head Handles with the horns terminating in Cornucopia designs. The Bowl is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, the base may have some restoration, being painted black around the edge. The Centerpiece Bowl is also very large and impressive measuring 15" long by 8-1/2" wide and standing 8" tall. The Centerpiece is not marked but is guaranteed to be Masons Ironstone China as Cabbage Leaf is a well known and documented pattern. I am told this along with all the other Masons Ironstone we have listed this week was purchased from the fine Antiques Gallery of Valerie Howard, who specializes in Masons Ironstone, so this is great provenance to have for the future. The Bowls are fully marked with the impressed Flight, Barr and Barr mark and I am told this mark dates the Bowls to 1813-1840. The Bowls are in excellent all original condition with only small rim chipping that is is only noticeable from the reverse and some wear to the footrim as you would want to see on a 200 year old Bowl. The Dishes are a nice large size for display measuring 9-1/4" long by 9-1/4" wide and sit 1-3/4" tall. We have also more early Worcester listed. 9 1/2" ANTIQUE MID-LATE 19TH CENT IMARI PORCELAIN OCTAGONAL FOOTED BOWL BLUE RED
Here is a wonderful mid-late unmarked 19th century antique Chinese porcelain octagonal Imari in very nice age commensurate condition as shown in my multiple photographs and as described in detail under condition above. This delightful 9 1/2 inch diameter bowl stands 2 3/4 inches tall. It is beautifully decorated inside and outside with a lovely central floral medallion on the bottom of the inside and two thin blue under glaze rings around it foot. The design which covers the vast majority of the white porcelain bowl is a dark royal to cobalt blue and Chinese red and intricately detailed as shown in my close up photo's. It is a lovely decorative piece. I have included a number of photographs from all sides in an attempt to accurately represent the design. Rare Antique Staffordshire Engine Turned Black Basalt Bowl circa 1800. For sale is this finely engine turned bowl of black basalt. The bowl features fine engine turned fluting combined with a vine design. Where the background appears to have been carved away, which it may well have been during the turning process. Turning" in this sense does not refer to the use of the potters wheel, but to the lathe on which pottery pieces, both thrown and molded, were carved after they dried to the leather stage in order to make their lines more precise and elegant. This turning process was in use during the late 18th and early 19th century at all the high quality English potteries such as Wedgwood and Spode, etc. This bowl is unmarked but I would say it is Staffordshire work. Most Staffordshire firms did not mark their wares during this early period ... moreof production. The bowl measures 6 inches wide by 3 1/2 inches tall. Condition: The bowl is in excellent condition. Up for bid is this Limoges Haviland Hand Painted Bowl ca. 1900-41. The two maker marks on the bottom indicate it is from the Gerard. Dufraisseix& Abbot ca. 1900-1941. It is 2 3/8" Tall and 10 1/2" wide. It is in Good Condition with a loss of gold mainly on the inside bottom. The pictures I took don't do it justice. Beautiful Antique Creamware Dish Basket Woven Design Brass Ormolu Decorated Edge
Beautiful creamware woven oblong footed dish or basket with attached decorative brass Ormolu trim. Finely made and in excellent condition. It measures 12" by 6 1/2" by about 3" deep which is the measurement from the handle. It has a stamped mark on the bottom that I cannot read and a few numbers. It's absolutely lovely and an unusual piece. There are a couple of small very faint spots of discoloration which can be seen in the photo but they certainly don't stand out and are small and faint. There is some slight crazing which can be seen on the bottom upon close inspection. It's very delicate and light and a lovely cream color. No chips or cracks. Thanks for your time and attention.

Some gold loss on trim. History: This gravy boat is part of an unsigned. Hand-painted set of violet serving pieces. They belonged to G.G.Grandmother, who was married in 1912. Ironstone Soft Paste Staffordshire Punch Bowl Decorated Oriental Scene C.1840
We are pleased to offer a magnificent Staffordshire soft paste punch bowl decorated in the oriental manner in Imari colors of cobalt. Rust red, green illustrating a man seated by table with three standing female attendants presented as a scene on a scroll. Around the inner sides of bowl are flowers(including chrysanthemums) leaves and scrolls in muted gold and greens. Top edge of bowl rim has a muted(and very slightly worn) gold trim. Outside of bowl is white background with four main clusters of florals in cobalt, muted yellows, greens, red and rust. Raised rim of base is decorated with scrolled leaves and florals in a pale muted green background. Very faint overall crazing is visible on outside of bowl but not on interior. There is a darker glaze line from top edge extending down 1 1/4" from top. Not apparent on inside- see photos ... moreand condition description above. Covered vegetable measures 11 3/4" handle to handle. The bowl measures 9 1/4" by 7 1/2" wide and stands 3" tall; with lid on approximately 4 1/2" tall. The scalloped lid measures 10" long by 8" Condition: Small chip inside lid. Not noticeable when lid is on bowl. Paint smears are visible on bottom and rim of bowl. No cracks or crazing. History: This unsigned violet serving piece is part of a set. The set belonged to G.G.Grandmother. Who was married in 1912. All the large pieces appear to have been painted by the same artist.
