Most likely pennsylvania, smaller redware jug has a chip on front of body, handle is in very good condition,some factory roughness around of outside of spout, jug has a very awesome glaze 3/4 of jug has a black like frog spotting. Jug has 2 small chips on bottom, and a couple very tight drying hairlines. Jug has some small drying lines in glaze, I believe surface only, jug is 100% solid. You can feel the small cracks-lines on side. definitely factory) only on one side in 3 areas. Awesome little jug. Measures just under 6 inches high. Larger jug has a darker glaze. In excellent condition, jug has no cracks at all. What looks to be cracks running all over through body, is something done in the making. These can not be felt or seen on the inside. There are cracks on the back of the head as shown in photos. A crackled look along the base, and a crack going up the center of her chest. From the look of the hollowed out domed base, it appears as if she once belonged on top of another item or perhaps was once some sort of stopper. Antique Stoneware Jug A.K. Ballard Burlington. VT Search This is a wondeful RARE A. K. Ballard Burlington. VT 2 Gallon Jug. It is 15 1/2" tall and 29" in circumference, and 8" wide. The top of the jug is 8 1/2" in circumference and 2 3/4"wide. The handle is in pretty good condition although it does have a 1" chip out of it. It is marked: A.K. Ballard. Burlington, VT, 2" Here is a list of the issues: It has 5 chips on the spout. One is 1 3/4" long and the second one is 1"long. The others are 1/4" long or less. There is also a chip on the handle that measures 1/2" wide. It has a beautiful cobalt design and overall it is in pretty good condition for it's age. There are several places where the glazing has flaked off around the middle/bottom, exposing the pottery underneath. I would say ... morethe condition is good but it does have spotting, staining and chipping. There is a surface crack in the glaze that is 6" long and there are about 4 rust stains. Please view all photos as they serve as part of the description. There are two chips on the bottom that are both 1" long. It has some sort of flour/powder on the inside that I have not cleaned out. Impressive Pair 1910 German 800 Silver Crystal Claret Wine Jugs
This is a fabulous pair of circa 1910 German 800/1000 silver and cut crystal claret jugs or wine/liquor decanters. They are hallmarked with the German hallmarks for 800 standard silver and the makers mark of Seybold& Hirschauer a fine German maker active 1900 to 1930. Where do you find a pair of these. Very rare especially in this condition. They are in fine condition, the crystal has no nicks cracks chips, the silver has no dings. There are reminants of a surface coating on the silver that can be polished out, otherwise soft surface scratches that comes with silver over 100 years old. This wonderful vintage oversized drape features a whimsical retro print. The mid-century design shows flower-dotted jugs. Pans with forks& spoons, fruit, leaves, and even a polka-dotted coffee grinder! It is done in shades of golden orange, kelly green, silver, grey, white and cherry red on a lemon yellow background. The curtain is constructed/seamed using two panels and measures 72" by 62" including the gauze/voile ruffle. It has a standard rod casing at the top. The ruffle shows considerable age spotting. This is a photographic glass magic lantern slide. Black and white, labeled, Milk Maids of Kief, Russia" Kiev is the largest city and the capital of Ukraine. Kiev was a provincial capital of marginal importance in the outskirts of the territories controlled by its powerful neighbors: the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the Grand Duchy of Moscow, later the Russian Empire. From the late 18th century until the late 19th century, city life was increasingly dominated by Russian military and ecclesiastical concerns. Russian Orthodox Church institutions formed a significant part of Kiev's infrastructure and business activity at that time. In the 1930s, Kiev suffered terribly from famine and from Stalinization. During the Second World War, Nazi Germany occupied Kiev on 19 September 1941. The Chernobyl accident ... moreof 1986 affected city life tremendously, both environmentally and socio-politically. Some areas of the city have been polluted by radioactive dust. However, Kievans were neither informed about the actual threat of the accident, nor recognized as its victims. In 1905 Keystone View Company began its Educational Department, selling views and glass lantern slides(the forerunner of the photo transparency, later used in slide projectors) to schools throughout the country. They also produced lantern slide projection equipment. This slide is part of the Keystone 600 series and was meant to be used in schools in a Social Studies unit. It is slide# of the set. This gorgeous set of 3 small graduated jugs were made around the 1890's in Bavaria by ZS& Co. and have a pretty garland of pink roses around the tops of all three. Jugs are in very good condition with no chips. Cracks or repairs. Only tiny fault mentioned for accuracy is that on the handle of the medium jug is a small black indent done in manufacture.
