This late Victorian silverplated set is marked with the design number 1938. The gorgeous design features bold florals in deep relief and reeded curved handles. The creamer has a parcel gilt interior, the sugar has no gold wash on the interior. Both pieces stand 5 1/8” 13 cm) tall at the handles. This pair has no monogram or inscription. These two are in very good condition. With no dents, breaks, or repairs. Both pieces have minor wear on the outer top rim, lower edge, handles, and on the high-point edges of the busy design. Taylor. Smith, and Taylor Wash Bowl and Pitcher This is a beautiful antique wash bowl and pitcher made by the Taylor. Smith, and Taylor company in 1901-1915 located in East Liverpool, OH. It is glazed in white and has a crackle type finish to it. The bottom of the bowl(154) and pitcher(55) are stamped(pictured above) with the signature mark for this time period. It is a very large piece, the bowl measuring about 15 inches in diameter and is quite heavy. It has a little tiny chip which is pictured above. Up for bid is this antique WM Rogers Silverplate 817 water pitcher. Creamer, and sugar bowl. These pieces have been in the family for years and the actual age is unknown. I didn't spend too much time polishing, but did remove some tarnish with Tarnex and lightly polished with Wright's Silver Cream. There are no visible dents, however several fine scratches. The large pitcher has a double snake or lizard handle. Both pieces have a rounded panel form. The seam line on the pitcher is horizontal, as is typical of Spanish colonial silver. ANTIQUE 1840 ENGLISH MINATURE GAUDY WEISH BOWL & 8 SIDED PITCHER-RARE PATTERN
This pretty miniature bowl and pitcher set is sweet. These early. Tiny sets are very hard to find. The pattern was not found in"The Collector's Encyclopedia of Gaudy Welsh" by John Shuman, copyright 1991. and out of the over 200 patterns listed, it is not in any of the pictures or written descriptions. The bowl measures 4" 10.2 cm) in diameter and is 1 1/2" 3.8 cm) high(or deep) The pitcher measures 4 1/2" 11.4 cm) in height and is 2 3/4" 7 cm) in diameter. The style of the pitcher with its eight sides, oversized spout and shape would date it to some time around 1835 to 1845. This is porcelain so it is most likely English, as most of the ones made in Wales were earthenware. The large, bi-colored leaves are what sets it apart from other patterns. There are two large leaves on each piece, one is yellow and ... moregreen and one is yellow and blue. This bright yellow color is not found on many patterns of Gaudy Welsh, but is however, commonly seen on Gaudy Dutch. There are two large flowers on each piece, with graduated shading in orange on the four petals. The flowers have five round shaped cobalt blue centers with five luster dots. The background has the tiny green leaves, the purple luster leaves and sprigging and the stems of peach colored buds. The cobalt blue is under the glaze, and all the other colors are over painted. There is a tiny line of cobalt blue that smeared into the inner spout and the handle which occurred when the blue was being applied, that actually adds charm. If you look closely you see a slight faint yellowing on the bottom of the bowl around the rim that is hardly noticeable, but I like to mention everything. The few miniature bowl and pitcher sets I have seen in books and online always run $200 and upwards. This auction is for a Lovely and Old 6-Piece Chamber Set- two pitchers. A wash bowl, a large slop bucket with lid, a soap dish and lid and insert and a cup- made by Wheeling Pottery of West Virginia in the late 1800s or very early 1900s. It is very rare to find this many pieces of a turn of the century chamber set still intact. The set Displays Wonderfully and would instantly become the focal point of any room. It is a white semi porcelain that is decorated with gold paint applied in a sponge pattern at the edges. All the pieces have the torch and two eagle head WP LaBelle China mark used by Wheeling Pottery from 1893 to 1910. All the pieces have fine even crazing expected from pieces of this vintage. The roses are a beautifully done and highlighted by leaves in various shades of green. If you run your fingers over the roses you can feel the paint and brush strokes. It is highlighed around the rim and handle with gold leaf. It is is very nice condition. There are no chips or cracks in either piece. It has been used but very gently. It is 6 3/4 inches tall. The pitcher is also a slightly darker color. There are numerous enamel spots missing on both with rust showing through. The pitcher has a little hole in the bottom. It looks like someone tried to do a patch job on the pitcher at one time. All these imperfections show they were well used and give awesome character. Great for display! Superb Victorian Porcelain Wash Bowl Pitcher Set United States Pottery Champion
This auction is for a Fabulous Victorian Wash Bowl and Pitcher Set made by United State Pottery of East Liverpool. Ohio in the late 1800s or early 1900s. It is in the company's striking pattern known as Champion. The bottom f each piece is marked"Champion" in script. The set Displays Wonderfully and will instantly become the focal point of any room. The pitcher and bowl are decorated in a vivid red thistle like flower and leaf pattern against very white porcelain. The set is in very good condition. Especially for its age. There are no chips or cracks in either piece. There is a small spot in the pitcher below the handle where the porcelain has flaked off(see last photo) There is also very faint straight line crazing mark(see photo 11) and a small tannish mark both near the base of the pitcher. The bowl has several black dots ... morethat might come off with a good cleaning. None of the issues detract from the overall appeal of this Great Set. THIS AUCTION IS FOR ONE ANTIQUE PITCHER AND WASH BOWL SET ELSTERWERDA POTTERY THESE ITEMS ARE OVER 100 YEARS OLD! The small factory was founded in 1900 right between the arms of the rivers Pulsnitz and Black Elster by a Mr. Korsukewiez who over the years slowly but surely increased the capacity until he employed up to 200 people in the 1920's and 30's. Although some other sources claim that the factory had a peak of 400 workers during 1925. Many famous designers and sculptors worked at the factory, for example the designer Ursula Fesca who worked there between 1928 and 1931 or other well-known artists like Siegfried Möller. Grete Gottschalk and Franz Eggert. Next to normal household items the factory also produced ceramic clocks during the Art Deco period and one of the decoration styles used is a typical example for a combined ... moreairbrush and stencil technique used during the mid-thirties. Used between 1900 and around 1918. U. ='Uhr' clock) the number is a combo of mold and decoration. Check via the email; elsterwerda pottery. Then, PM&M page ELSTERWERDA It should be noted that next to the shown marks from the period between the two wars the factory also used either the word'ELSTERWERDA' in a circle or simply a stamped'Elsterwerda handgemalt' and in a large number of cases the items were left unmarked and only received a simple sticker. After the end of WWII some of the machines and kilns were disassembled and sent to the Soviet Union as part of the reparation agreement. Sadly that is also the time where the whole company archive went missing; it is believed that it was either destroyed or(more probably) taken away with the machinery. Also shortly after WWII the factory mark was replaced by a stamped' V.V.B. Elsterwerda' which was then used until the'V.V.B.based structure for grouping nationalized companies was slowly abandoned in the early to mid-1950s in favour of the linear' V.E.B. approach. For sale is a rare and very beautiful Flow Blue Manilla pitcher and wash bowl. It was made by Podmore Walker circa 1845. This was from my mother's estate. And she had it proudly displayed in her home. The pitcher is 11 5/8" tall and 7 1/2" wide from the handle to the spout rim. It is 5 1/2" wide at the base. The bowl is 14" wide and 4 1/2" deep. I have listed any of the imperfections that I could find. I think that it is in amazing condition considering its age and the fact that it was used in its first life! Lovely Antique Pitcher & Wash Bowl Set Keramis Belgium Long Tailed Bird Design
This auction is for a Lovely Antique Pitcher and Wash Bowl Set made in Belgium by Keramis. It is Beautifully designed with images of a long tailed and colorful bird amid pink and yellow and green flowers against a cream colored background. The pitcher is in very good condition. Especially for its age. There are no chips or cracks or repairs. There is a very slight and hard-to-see firing line in the lower part of the handle(see photo 10) It is not a hairline and doesn't go through and it appears to be under the glaze and made in the manufacturing process. The images and the colors clear and bright. The bowl has a crack down one side(see last two photos) and wear of the gold accent paint along it rim. Even so. You are viewing a gorgeous antique pitcher and bowl set including the matching commode and two part soap dish. This set is so stunning. Better in person than what the pictures show. This is a very large set, bowl measures 17" across and the pitcher is 12" tall. The set is in almost perfect condition. Upon close examination I discovered a small hairline inside the large bowl on the side, does not go through the outside. The liner for the soap dish also has a hairline. This set looks as though it has only been displayed as I have done. I was told this is an English set and is over 100 years old. Only one piece has number markings on the bottom. No chips, but some small loss of glaze on outside rim of bowl As to be expected, age appropriate surface scrapes inside of bowl. On bottom ring, on which bowl rests, a surface age stress crack(very minor) Bowl measures 13 5/8" across. 3 small pieces of green felt protect bottom ring. Both bowl and pitcher are marked J Heath. The pitcher has no chips or cracks and measures about 11 1/2" tall. It is marked on Lake Scenery. Bowl and pitcher look very similiar, but scenes are slightly different. I believe these are probably from the 50s or 60s. They were part of a storage unit we purchased. The pitcher is a little over 3" tall and the bowl is about 2 1/4" tall and almost 3" in diameter. What is interesting about the pitcher is that it has two little golden hash marks on the bottom. Maybe that means something. Maybe it doesn't. I don't know much about vintage items.
