This is a Blanc de Chine figure of Mezzetino, with his monkey as baby. This particular figure has wonderful crisp detail from both faces, of actor and monkey along with buttons, buckles, wrappings and incised decorations. His slapper at his side had been broken cleanly before I bought him. It can be restored by a good restorer if wanted. I bought him because he was a great representation of the original model. For sale is a large figure of a scene of what I imagine to be a the goings on in a nobility household during the 18th century. It was made by Nymphenburg around 1900. The figurine is of the lady of the house getting her tall hairdo done by a hairdresser standing on a ladder while a servant is standing next to her by her table. Tons of small detail to this superb figurine with a little dog standing next to her. Lots of small items on the table and lots of other things all around. The figure is 8.25 inches tall and the base is 6.625 inches wide and 5.875 inches deep. The piece is marked underneath with the impressed shield mark and the number 38. incised. It also has the CT mark udner a crown of the very early redo's of the Frankenthal models before they used year codoes in the later 19th century or very early 20th century. Rare Nymphenburg Porcelain Dog Biting Lady 's Butt Figurine Porzellan Figur Nice
For sale is a figure of a lady being attacked by a dog made by Nymphenburg around 1900 or when Baeuml first took over as director and copied the old models. This is the rarer larger version! The lady is painted quite nicely with a very intricate design including lots of bows and the hat has a rose on it that make her look very elegant. The dog has brown spots and is in the process of biting her in the butt: She has the impressed shield mark on the front of the base outlined with gilding as well as the incised number 9 1/2 II underneath. The figurine is in great condition with a bit of damage to the bows which is to be expected. She is 8.75 inches tall. 5.5 inches wide and 4.625 inches deep. Blanc de Chine Nymphenburg Commedia dell'Arte Mezzetino Figurine Bustelli 1890s
For your consideration. A gorgeous blanc de chine porcelain figurine designed by Rococo master Franz Anton Bustelli for Nymphenburg, circa late 1800s to 1910 Germany. The figurine is Mezzetino, one of the 16 Commedia dell'Arte figurines originally designed by Bustelli for Nymphenburg in 1760. Nymphenburg figurines are some of the finest in the world and are still in production today(even a Mezzetino designed by Vivienne Westwood) The marks on this figurine date it prior to trade laws in the 1920s that required the country name be placed on any imported items to the US. The base of the figurine has the model number and Nymphenburg shield mark. The shield mark is also seen on the side of the figurine, see pictures 4 and 5. The figurine is in decent vintage condition with the only breakage being the end of Mezzetino's club, as seen in ... morepicture 3, which is common for this figurine especially given its age. There are also a few very tiny dark spots on the porcelain's surface. Measures 6.5 inches in height. Overall condition is reflected in the price. This is a rare and gorgeous large Blanc de Chine porcelain figural that bears both a Nymphenburg factory marking and another than looks like a Frankenthal mark. Could of perhaps be created at two factories. Very fine and large gorgeous piece displaying a young couple in the garden with a little goat at their feet. Measures 12 inches high by 9 1/2 inches wide and is in overall excellent/very good condition with a few small broken pieces. The goat has one broken leg and there is a piece of the basket missing on the bench in addition to a decorative finial on the outer edge. Few tiny nicks to the florals. Overall very minor on display. Displays superbly and these small damages are not readily noticed in my opinion. Superb and very rare example for the collector of fine antiques! For sale is a rare figurine of a whoopee bird( Wiedehopf in German) made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century. Not a model you really ever come across except in books and not one produced today anymore. The bird is really well modeled sitting on a stup with some flowers on it. Amazingly his beak is still intact which is often not the case. He is rextremely well painted- quite the stunning piece! The piece is 13.25 inches tall. 6 inches deep and 4.5 inches wide so rather large. It is marked with the impressed shield mark underneath the base as well as the impressed model number 166/ a. This is a beautiful figurine of. Image of Harvest" in white porcelain china. Figurine is 12" tall and is marked on the bottom with the impressed shield and the number 40. I will be listing several German Porcelain pieces that were brought back from Germany after WW2 by a U S Army officer who was the M.P. commander in Heidelberg after the war. Pieces is in very good condition, but on 4 of the grape leaves a small piece or tip is missing, they are so small you need a magnifying glass to see them, outside that there are no cracks or crazing. Blanc de Chine Antique German Porcelain Queen King Nymphenburg Dresden Figurine
This is a beautiful fine pair of Blanc de Chine Nymphenburg figures of royalty. A queen and king. They each measure approximately 7 1/4 inches high and display very well. The lady is in very good condition with the exception to one finger being repaired. The gentleman is in good/fair condition as he has broken fingers on one hand. Part of the bow on his neck broken and one leaf on a flower on the pedestal and then there is a very tiny nick on the brim of his hat. I feel these would be easy to restore if desired. Nymphenburg Bustelli Boy Bust Figurine Lamp Porcelain Porzellan Bueste Figur
For sale is a bust of a child(believed to be Friedrich August der Starke aka Frederick the Strong) modelled by Franz Anton Bustelli and made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century. It is marked on the side of the base with the impressed shield mark- fairly sure there is another mark underneath but I am not taking it off its lamp base. The porcelain part is 9.25 inches tall. 5.75 inches wide and 4.75 inches deep. The porcelain is in superb condition. The front of the base has three cut out holes which were usually only found on the 18th century pieces and I have not seen this on 20th century ones. It is a nice touch! The black wooden marbilized base is 5.5 inches tall and 5.75 inches square. The metal piece of the lamp above his head is 8.25 inches tall. The cloth wiring has been cut so it needs to be rewired. For sale is a figurine of a duck made by Nymphenburg during the mid 20th century. This is a very rare model that I believe is one of the few also made in majolica though I am not totally sure. It is a rare model and I have only seen a handful of these over the years if that. Nicely modeled in a very modern kind of way with superb coloring. Standing on a rock with a wave hitting the rock in the front. I am unsure who modeled this piece but it might have been Terletzki-Scherf or so as she liked the crazy animals: The bird is 10 inches tall. 7.5 inches long and 4.625 inches wide so rather large. For sale is a figurine of a dog made by Nymphenburg during the original period in the early 20th century. It is a Pekinese I believe and he is superbly modeled and handpainted. One of the cuter dogs I have ever seen in porcelain. The dog is 6 inches tall. 4 inches wide and 8 inches long so rather large. It is marked with the impressed shield mark underneath with the number 696 over 5 underneath it. Also marked with the green shield mark with the word Nymphenburg and the artist initials KS for Konrad Schmid. Also signed by the artist that painted him on his right back leg TBL or somemthing like that. He is in great condition with a small painted over chip to the end of one of the hair extensions by his left front paw that is not obvious at all when on display. For sale is a figure of a cute little St.Bernard puppy(yes this is the ultimate sad puppy dog face if you were wondering) made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century. This is definitely one of Kaerner's better creations and one of the larger animals he designed. Being 6 inches tall, 6 inches long and 5.5 inches wide. He is in perfect condition, same as the day he was made. The dog is marked with the impressed shield mark as well as the incised numbers 391 and 5 which means is he a very early version of this figure since later on they impressed the numbers and Kaerners name impressed underneath. For sale is a figurine of a Pekinese dog made by Nymphenburg during the original period in the early 20th century. It is the smaller version of the two they made but I also ahve the larger one: The little guy is superbly modeled and handpainted to perfection which is why I think the Nymphenburg animals are the best in the porcelain world! The dog is 3.5 inches tall. 2.25 inches wide and 5 inches long. He is marked with the impressed shield mark underneath with the number 650 over 9 underneath it. She does have a few lumps by her right shoulder in the back but this is original to her from the making and did not warrant her to be a second choice. She displays perfectly and looks stunning! For sale is a neat pair of peacock tail doves or pigeons made by Nymphenburg in the mid 20th century. These are extremely nice to display being the much rarer painted verion with the black tail feathers and the gilded base. A matching pair is always a plus as well: These were designed by the famous Luise Terletzki-Scherf in 1953 whose animal figurines are highly collectable. These are really fun pigeons ad one can easily see where their name comes from! Superbly modeled with lots of detail and the handpainted detail makes them one elegant pair! Both are in amazingly good condition with those fragile feathers with each having a super mini flat chip to one tip which was colored in and is thus impossible to spot. One is on the backside and one on the front side. Both birds are marked with the impressed shield mark underneath. For sale is an ermine attacking a bird made by Nymphenburg in the Art Nouveau period around 1909. An amazing piece! It is super detailed and painted to seem real. The piece is 6 inches tall. 7.5 inches wide and 9.5 inches deep. This figurine is from the original period when it was first designed which is very rare! It is in great condition with one claw of the bird having the very tip broken off, a glaze flaw on a feathertip of the wing, in the beak and where the wing attaches to the body. This is normal for this period and the size of the piece. A few black firing spots as well but none take away from the piece. It is marked underneath with the impressed shield mark, impressed 10 and incised 176. Also signed with the impressed shield mark highlighted in blue on the front of the base and signed by the artist initials CB under the right wing ... moreof the bird on the base. I do believe it is a giant Schnauzer but I am somewhat clueless in the dog department: Either way he is superbly modeled and painted just right to make him very elegant. The dog is 7 inches tall. 2.75 inches wide and 7 inches long. Marked with the impressed shield mark underneath with the number 361 over 6 underneath it. Also marked with the green shield mark with the word Nymphenburg and Western Germany. So made just after WWII. There is also an impressed and blue painted shield mark in the front of the base. For sale is a figure of a guinea fowl made by Nymphenburg in 1914. One of Kaerners most famous creations in the Art Nouveau period. This is the largest animal he designed. As far as I know, being 9.5 inches tall, 11.5 inches long and 5.5 inches wide. It is in perfect condition same as the day it was made. There is some manufacturing painting flaw underneath the neck but that is normal with these large pieces. Even the ones in the museums have firing cracks, so this one is actually in better shape. It is marked with the impressed shield mark as well as the numbers 2 over 494. Signed by the artist who painted it F.C. and the year 1914. It should be Fernand Clémand who worked at Nymphenburg from 1912 to 1918. A very rare piece from the original period it was designed in.
