5.5" Parian Porcelain Bust Walter Scott made to resemble marble perfect conditio
Here is a 5.5" parian porcelain bust of Walter Scott. It was very likely made in England in the 19th century but there are absolutely no marks on it anywhere. The clothed bust sits on an integrated pedestal that bears the name"Walter Scott. The bottom is solid and bears no marks of any kind. To my hand it feels like it is hollow inside and there is one small hole in the back of the bust to allow air to escape during the firing process. THIS HOLE IS NOT DAMAGE. There are no chips. Cracks or damage of any kind to this piece. It looks a bit discolored with age and dirt but some people call that patina so I have left it untouched and as found. The new owner may want to give it a wash. This will cost $10.00 to mail anywhere in the Continental US with delivery confirmation. Know for being the first person to have swum the English Channel in August of 1875. From Dover to Calais, a distance of 40 miles in 21 hours and 45 minutes. Excellent quality and detailing. The back reads" Swan from Dover to Calais Capt n Webb Time 21 3/4 Hours" This bust shows him wearing two me dals. The first being the Royal Humane Society Stanhope Medal( the first recipient) for his attempted rescue of a seaman from the Atlantic Ocean and the second. The Liverpool Humane Society Medal. He was later awarded the newly designed Stanhope medal which is not shown on this bust. I have searched online and only found one other Parian bust of Captain Webb which sold at Bonhams ... moreauction house. It was a pedestal bust and he is shown with the three medals so I believe this to be possibly an earlier piece. Antique Parian Girl Wearing A cross Bust Has Been Glued
This is a very fine bust and she is unfortunately broken. The neck has been glued but could use a better repair. The girl has no marks and she is about 7 inches tall. There might possibly be a nick above her eye but it is hard to tell if it was original or if it is a chip. The girl is wearing a cross. The bisque does have some dark pin prick marks and it might be normal. I don't know.

A nice Edward VII plaster bust, copy of an antique parian mould ?
Here is a very nice display bust of King Edward VII. I think it may be a vintage copy, perhaps in plaster or chalk, of an original Parian ware bust made to commemmorate the coronation in 1902. The back has impressed marks for"R&L. Copyright 1902" so a mould was probably made from the original for this bust to be made. It has very nice crisp detail. It isn't especially old. But makes a very nice display item, especially amongst other Edwardiana or royal memorabilia, at a fraction of the cost of an original. I don't seem to come across many busts of King Edward. A few more of Queen Victoria seem to be available. Condition is good for its age with tjust some very light dirt in places. The four small felt pads under the base are also quite worn. But functional. The bust measures 7.75 inches(19.9 cm) in height. A nicely detailed ... moreitem. A superb Parian Bust of Queen Victoria and says"Jubilee Bust" which seems it is more likely to be for the 1887 Golden Jubilee than it is for the 1897 Diamond Jubilee. She is in her Mop cap and it is well sculptured and detailed with her jewels and regalia. It is marked on the shoulder at the back with R J M S and also in the centre has some letters but not clear but through magnifying glass seems to say Torne& Wood but could be wrong. A stunning and rare Parian bust for Princess Alexandra of Denmark(later Queen Alexandra-Consort to King Edward VII) It is the earliest of her busts and one of the few made in her native Denmark before she sailed over to England for her marriage to the Prince of Wales. So this is dated 1862 so for her engagement and of course they married in March 1863. Victorian Parian Bust No. 1 - Bust of Clytie
Offered for auction is this excellent Victorian parian bust of Clytie. No chips. Cracks or other flaws except for a few minor chips to the underside rim of the base. These may not be chips but manufacture defects, but they are irrelevant as they are not in any way visible unless you turn the bust completely upside down. I mention them only for extreme accuracy. Very good detail and form. Clytie was a very common Victorian bust and this particular one was once available in a number of sizes. No regrets on this piece and no reserve. A great piece of parian for your marble topped parlor table. Please refer to the photographs as they are an important part of the overall description. Stands approximately 7 1/2" tall by 4 3/4" wide. Westmacott, this is one of the finest piece of parian I have ever owned, the bust is in two sections, attached with rod and brass nut, the plinth has gold lettering of a poem"awake" the piece is in fantastic shape for age, one chip under wing you can't see unless you tip it upside down,slight rubbing but otherwise great, the bust measures 9 inches in height and 7 inches in diameter, this is a very very rare work of art, one of the most beautiful pieces of parian I have ever owned,hope it goes to a good home or collection,item sold as is, thanks and good luck!
