Selling this very nice Chelsea ships bells. Holosteric barometer and thermometer set mounted on a bronze base. This beautiful set measures 15 1/2" ... morewide x 3 1/2" deep x 9" tall. The base itself measures 14" x 3" and the glass covering both the clock and barometer measures a little over 3 1/2" The clock is fully wound and as are the bells and it is not running. The bells do not strike when the hands are moved, but there is some type of movement on the inside that I can hear when the hands are at the hour and half hour. Both of the glasses are taped into the covers of the clock and barometer. The interior hand for the barometer is missing. The thermometer is working bu there is a gap in the mercury in the glass tube. There is dulling to the finish that can me polished out to make this set really shine. On the top of the base is engraved"Harry, Best Wishes, Jack" This nice vintage Chelsea ships bells and barometer set is in need of a little TLC but definitely worthy of the work. This set weights approximately 14 1/5 pounds so shipping will be by UPS ground with insurance and tracking. I am adding a little to the packed weight to cover some of the insurance. A lot of 5 vintage or antique wind-up keys 1-1/2" to 2-1/2" long for clocks. Wind-up toys, or other.I don't know much about these keys except ... morewhat I have gleaned from the internet-and I still don't know much. They have various bores ranging from two with 1/8" square bores(one has rust inside which I think could be cleaned and the other seems to have something inside the bore that could be cleaned out) two appear to be the same but the bores look different sizes-1/8" to 3/16" if my measurement is correct. One bore seems to be squared on one side and rounded on the other and the similar key almost seems to have a notched bore with a similar shape. One key is bent on the top probably from use. As for the two largest keys, one seems to have almost a clover like bore( which is about 3/16" and the largest key has a 3/16" square bore. I found some of these when cleaning out a shed man years ago, among others, and I think one or two belonged to my mother. All my collections are being sold off. Please see pictures and ask any questions you might have. I will answer promptly as best I can. The photos with the blue background were taken first and I added those with the purple background later to try to show the keys more exactly since I really can't describe them correctly. Shipping is by USPS first class; buyer is responsible for shipping costs. I combine shipping on multiple orders if purchased within the same week and paid for at the same time. Vintage Brass Sestrel 8 day Ships Clock. 6" dial. Made by Henry Browne& Son Ltd. Barking& London. The clock is in good condition. Works well ... moreand keeps good time. It has the rare and useful sweep type second hand. The plain parallel hour and minute hands are usual for a practical working marine instrument. The face diameter is 150mm 6" And was refinished some years ago with roman numerals. The bevelled glass is in very good condition. The case mounting flange diameter is 193mm 7 5/8" and the depth of the case is 80mm 3 1/8" With four countersunk fixing holes. The original key has been lost, but a radiator bleed key works well for rewinding. The brass of the case is dull and has a nice patina, so I have not polished it in the event that this is wanted, but it would be easily cleaned and has no major stains or defects. The back of the case is still bright brass, with a lacquer finish. Collection in person welcome to save on postage cost along with cash payment.

This is a really pretty French Portico, Napoleon III, Regulating Pendulum Clock. Very nice working clock with lighter wood inlay. It measures 18 3/4" ... moreX 9 1/2" X 5". I believe it is from the late 1800's, but I am not a clock person. I am also not sure of the workings, but I put the pendulum on and gave it a nudge and it took off and ran for several minutes until I took it off. Seems to work fine. Comes with Key. This came from an estate of a high end clock and oil lamp collector. She only bought the best. She had a few Tiffany's and some carriage clocks which I purchased as well along with a few others. Rare French Gilt Bronze and Rouge marble base Clock signed F. BARBEDIENNE on the bronze and F. BARBEDIENNE PARIS on the dial. 9.5 inches tall and 5 inches ... morewide at the base. The French 8 Day platform escapement is signed J. E. DUPONT PARIS. Two hammers striking on a gong. One for the time and one for the alarm. The movement has not been tested or taken apart. Clock runs for 30 seconds than stops, probably just needs a cleaning. There are no cracks, chips or hairlines to the dial. The case is in great condition with no damage or repairs. Excellent detail to include the 4 fluted 3/4 columns. Four glass beveled sides surround the case. One of the side glass sides has some chips, but this piece could be replaced for cheap money. Original key included Ferdinand Barbedienne(10 January 1810– 21 March 1892) was a French and manufacturer, who was well known as a bronze founder. The F. Barbedienne foundry was started in Paris in 1838 by Ferdinand Barbedienne and Achille Collas. Who was the inventor of a machine that would mechanically reduce statues. They at first produced bronze reductions of antique sculptures of Greek and Roman origin. Their first contract to produce bronzes modeled by a living artist was made in 1843 when they arranged to produce the works of Francois Rude. They barely survived the revolution and financial collapse of 1848 which caused many artists and foundries to declare bankruptcy. Achille Collas died in 1859 leaving Ferdinand Barbedienne as the sole owner of the foundry which by that time had grown to employ over 300 workers at their workshop located at 63 Rue de Lancry in Paris. French 18th Century Nicolas Poussin Painting Reproduction Oil on Linen
On July 9. 2011 this painting was brought to the Minneapolis Convention Center Antique Roadshow Event. Two appraisers reviewed this painting at that time. During 2012 I also had a local appraisal company(Appraisal Specialists Midwest) review the painting. In addition and during 2012 I had Bonham's Auctions review this painting along with Alan Fausel, painting specialist on Antiques Roadshow who was making the rounds with them during a Twin Cities home tour appraisal fair. I did not share with any of the people involved what the others may have concluded just to see what came up. In all three circumstances all the appraisers had the same independent conclusion. All agreed that this is a late 18th century(circa 1790-1810) reproduction of a Nicolas Poussin(1594-1695) masterpiece. They also agreed that this form of high quality reproduction ... morework was common to the time period and produced for wealthy tourists traveling Europe. Moses is distinctly represented in the work and there are similarities to this painting and other original Poussin's referencing Moses, however, I have yet to discover which original work this is a reproduction of. The painting is oil on linen and in exceptional condition. There is only a slight and very minimal amount of crazing. The piece looks to have been cleaned and re-varnished sometime within the last thirty years. The fame is attractive but it is uncertain if it is the original frame to the piece. On the reverse it seems clear that the painting was stabilized and strengthened within the frame probably at the time it was last cleaned. The frame is painted gesso on wood. There are a few very minor areas of gesso loss from moving over the years. A new cleaning would probably brighten the piece although it does not appear to be terribly dirty and the current varnish has not yellowed much and appears to be contemporary. Movement for Antique French Portico Clock
Up for auction is very hard to find and beautiful movement for antique French portico/empire clock. Manufactured in France as I believe around 1830. The movement has a nice metallic dial in a good condition and beautiful gilded bronze bezel. The movement was professionally cleaned and oiled, mainsprings were changed and now the movement is very clean and works perfectly- it runs and strikes in the hours and half hours. The outer diameter of the gilded bronze bezel is a little more than 5" approximately 5.1" The shipping cost in 48 continental states is $19 with insurance and tracking number. It is in good condition. I have no idea if it works as I am always scared to wind these to test, so I don't. The clock face is in good shape, original glass cover. It is marked Manufactured by Waterbury Clock Co. U.S.A. On the back plate it is marked with this. Last patent date is 1894 for this one. Then you see the other Waterbury mark. Clock face is about 1 15/16ths ins. approx. I liked the little bird down here. I believe this is brass with a brass finish. A magnet does not stick to it( besides the back cover plate)It is fairly light-weight. So not bronze. I am also listing some other Art Nouveau clocks I bought in separate auctions. The dial, which appears original, is paper on the original pan. All three hands also appear original. The glass which bears the name Eclipse Regulator, is old glass as evidenced by the small bubbles in the glass. The case is walnut and has been cleaned and sealed but not refinished. It has Eastlake Victorian styling and carving. The label on the back is approximately 95% complete. There is a beat meter that is not original. First the damage or missing parts: One hand is missing(photo) There is no key to the clock.There is a piece missing next to the girls feet(about 1 1/2" x 1"Photo) By her right foot you will see a fan looking decoration-it is missing to the right side of the base where it should be(photo) The back of both legs each have minor nicks in them but not the sides of the leg's(photo) In one photo you will see what appears to be a branch with leaves to the right of the dial.I put it in place for the purpose of the photo. It appears in one photo unattached. It just needs to be attached and it would look good.The glass and frame are missing that cover the dial. There is a chip(s) next to the numeral III on the dial where it has been worn over the years due to winding(photo) I do not see anything else that is a problem. Clock is 12 1/2" ... moretall. 11" wide and about 5" deep. There is no damage to the girl or anything else. The cover for the back as well as the piece for the hammer to strike are present. I removed the works from the clock and found that they do work very well if the pendulum is not in place. With the pendulum attached the clock will work for about 15 to 20 seconds. Without the pendulum they work just fine. If this piece was cleaned and balanced as needed I see no reason why it would not keep good time. The striker does work. I see no indication of any damage internally to the works. On the inside of the dial frame stamped in the metal is' 890* on the back plate appears'A*M and 890 5*5(photo)the pieces match. Some were converted to use one C battery. All the writing on the conversion kit is in German, and probably a factory conversion. Don't know exactly when this was manufactured. This clock works perfectly. I had it on my kitchen table for three days next to my atomic clock in the last photo. atomic clock not included. The only difference in the time shown on the clocks was the accuracy of the one I am selling. My atomic clock does not show seconds and the Junghans does. It must be perfectly leveled from side to side and front to back. And if you do this it will keep perfect time. The glass and face are in very good condition. Victoria: This sign is registered in Robert E. Rontgen's Marks on German. Bohemian and Austrian porcelain. It was used from 1904-1918 by the Victoria Porcelain Factory which was founded in 1883 by Lazarus& Rosenfeld Ltd. It was located in Altrouhlau, Austria. It was sold two years later and became the largest porcelain factory of its kind. Pieces made were considered commercial products. At that time not thought to have great value. Early Biedermeier Viennese Portico Clock Early Vienn ese Portico Clock This is an early piece around 1810. 4 alabaster columns to the front supporting the triple pagoda roof. The dial and movement hang in underneath. The chapter ring is porcelain with no cracks or damage. The middle section of the top has 2 small painted panels. In eastern style, and are in great condition. The movement is time and strike on a bell. Counting the hours only. This clock is early so no half hour strike. The movement will run about 50hrs on a full wind. The sunburst pendle bob is a lovely feature. The clock has 1 little roset missing and 1 has a petal missing. Antique Rare Vintage 20's 30's Imhof Swiss Enamel Clock Persian Asian Hunt Scene
This rare antique Imhof clock is in excellent condition and working order. The light spots in the photos are just from the camera flash and reflection. The clock does not have the clear glass face cover. This is easily replaceable. It also does not have the end knob to set the clock time. This is also easily replaceable. Currently. I can set the time with needlenose pliers. I believe this clock is vintage 30's or 40's and is definitely early 20th century. The clock was made by the famous Swiss company Imhof and is an 8 day- 15 jewel clock. Overall the solid brass(or bronze) clock case measures almost 7" across by 5" in height. The face has a beautiful hand painted, colorful and enameled persian or asian hunt scene. This beautiful clock has a clean, shiny and ornate case with raised shiny gold numbers.
