Antique French Porcelain Mantle Clock
Up for auction is this gorgeous French mantle clock. Manufactured in France as I believe around 1850. The clock came from old clock master estate and looks to be in very good condition. I am not the clock master, so can't be much of the help, but I will try to answer your questions. I don't see any break to the porcelain case. The clock made from porcelain and has the porcelain figurine of the young boy on the top of it. I think that the figurine belongs to this clock and it will go with it. The clock with the figurine is approximately 13" high(7 1/4" without figurine) The movement has silk thread suspension and looks very clean and works perfectly- it runs and strikes on the hours and half hours. But I did not test it for a very long time. On the back plate of the movement there is the stamp of the clock master, but I could ... morenot read it. The porcelain dial is in perfect condition. I wrote that the shipping cost in 48 continental states is $70. Which includes insurance, tracking number and professional packing by UPS worker, which guaranty the secure shipping. A beautiful. Antique French rococo mantel clock with fancy metal case having hand painted porcelain inset mounts. This striking clock has an unusual painted porcelain 3" dial depicting a home in the country, with matching porcelain columns with similar motif. The lower tablet is also hand painted with scene of a young man serenading his lover in a landscape. The clock movement is brass and stamped with"Medaille d'Argent, Marti& Cie 1889" The clock is not running, needs a cleaning and possible overhaul, missing pendulum and key. The handsome case is in good overall condition(no damage to porcelain or the dial) It does have a somewhat loose finial, back door that needs new hinge, front beveled glass door is"frozen" shut, and overall scattered wear to patina. This is a nice old Fancy French Clock Movement for a staue clock or china clock.Being sold as found for parts, circa 1880-1900s. Measures 4&7/8 inches wide at the brass ring clock door, back of the clock movement is 3&1/4 inches wide. Is marked on the back with a crown and star design and Japyfreres and Meddhonneur and the numbers 8280 3 7. Needs a good cleaning and there is a small crack in the porcelain by#7. RARE Set 5 Antique Napoleon Demitasse Cups & Saucers Sevres French Porcelain NR
5 ANTIQUE SEVRES NAPOLEON DEMITASSE CUPS AND SAUCERS Up for auction is a RARE set of 5 demitasse cups and saucers. It's part of a set of 11 that I purchased at an estate sale last month(I sold the other 6 cups and saucers several weeks ago) Each cup features a portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte. The infamous military and political leader during the French Revolution and associated wars throughout Europe. The portrait is a transfer embellished with hand-painted highlights. Each cup is also decorated with gold laurel bands and robin egg blue panels. A capital"N" signifies the Napoleonic rule. The handle of each cup has an intricate scroll design. The cups are quite small, measuring about 2" tall and 2" wide at the top(not including handle) The underside of each cup is marked with a red"N" below the Imperial crown. ... moreMost of the cups also have a blue"J. mark. The saucers in this set are decorated with alternating panels of blue and white with a gold N and crown in the center surrounded by a gold wreath. The white panels are decorated with floral swags and the blue panels contain Napoleon's coat of arms. Each saucer measures about 3 3/4" in diameter. The underside of each saucer has the same marks as the cups(red N and crown. Blue"J" Some of the"J" markings are more stylized than others. I've done quite a bit of research attempting to identify the manufacturer of this set. Most people attribute the red N and crown mark with the Sevres Porcelain Factory in France. If it wasn't made by Sevres. It was certainly done in the Sevres style. It's also possible the set was made in Dresden, although I'm not aware of any Dresden manufacturers using the red"N and crown" mark. Or, it could have been made in Dresden and decorated by Sevres. Regardless, it's a beautiful set that likely dates from the late 19th or early 20th century. Condition of these collectible demitasse cups and saucers is EXCELLENT with no chips. Cracks, or crazing. A few years later. He established a larger factory in Fontainebleau where only ornamental articles were produced. He sold his company to one of his employees in 1862. Jacob Petit was a great designer and drew inspiration from many manufacturers and various periods. This is a charming little antique porcelain boy playing a French Horn. I believe he is by Conte& Boehme. See photo#11. He is wearing a blue topcoat with tails. Lined in pink- and apparently no pants. He is barefoot. He is standing next to a small container with magenta stripes which would be his toothpick or match holder. The entire piece is 4 3/4 inches tall. The holder is 1 1/2 inches in diameter. The little boy's face is particularly well done. Very nice detail and the colors are still vivid. No chips or cracks. Very nice condition. An Estate find we have an adorable old set of ceramic/ porcelain Bust Figurines probably dating to around the 50's or so. They measure about 6 1/2" tall by about 4 1/2" at their widest. Gorgeous pink. White, green and gold coloring. In wonderful condition for their age. The man looks to be free of any damage, but has what looks to be a minute manufacturer flaw in the porcelain in the middle of his back. The lady has a couple of marks on her chin, can't really tell what it is, possibly ink marks and a small repair on the bow atop her head, all not too noticeable but wanted to mention. We can find no Makers Marks. Their attire looks to be French. We have not cleaned these and they could use a wee wipe down. Photos were taken with a flash for detail. Offered as is as found are a wonderful pair of antique french porcelain blue bird candle holder lamps. These are being sold as found and have a great shabby appeal. No damage to the birds which are stunning sitting on their tree trunks. The flowers have chips and one holder may have a couple missing all easily replace here on Ebay. All of which only adding more shabby character to these rare pieces. The patina has age and you may wish to polish to remove any excess old polish or to bright up. But I feel they display great as they are. These are the same with the exception of the base which each hold their own likeness and one has a drip pan in holder the other does not. These appear to have been wired for electric use at some point with reminents of old wire existing. You could choose to rewire or utilize them as candle holders. We are offering a pair of 19th Century(1850s- 1880s) European Porcelain Candlesticks. They are a beautiful shade of light pink and gilt. These quality pieces are completely HAND PAINTED and have enameling. In the Rococo style. The candlesticks measure about 9-1/4" tall and are 6" wide at the base. These pieces are both in excellent condition and are absolutely beautiful! There is one very small chip at the top rim of one of the candlesticks(on the inside) Shown in photos 10 and 11. It is hardly noticable. One of the candlesticks has two small dark pre-glaze spots on the base(shown in photo 9) These pieces are in beautiful shape for their age, and the hand painting is exquisite.
