RARE ART DECO ROYAL DOULTON CABINET CUP AND SAUCER SET WITH MAPPIN& WEBB STERLING SILVER SPOONS IN ORIGINAL FITTED MAPPIN& WEBB PRESENTATION CASE EXCELLENT CONDITION Up for auction and offered without reserve is a stunning and rare Art Deco Royal Doulton demitasse cup and saucer set with Mappin& Webb sterling silver spoons in the original Mappin& Webb fitted presentation case. This gorgeous and completely original set consists of 6 Royal Doulton demitasse cups and saucers along with 6 sterling or solid silver demitasse spoons. All 18 pieces are displayed in their original Mappin& Webb fitted satin and velvet presentation case! The 6 beautiful cups and saucers have a striking blue and gilt Art Deco paneled pattern. All the cups and saucers are fully marked with the Royal Doulton back stamp(dating the pieces 1938& 1939) ... moreas well as a series of letters and numbers which relate to the decorator’s initials and pattern number. Cups and saucers are all in EXCELLENT CONDITION with no chips. Cracks or hairlines. There is some light crazing on the odd piece. Consistent with age, which is only visible on the white bottoms of the pieces. This is only noticed on close inspection. Gilding is also in excellent condition and shows no visible signs of wear. The six sterling silver demitasse spoons all have English hallmarks as follows; Crown(Sheffield) Lion Passant(Sterling Silver) and the date letters X(1940 ~ 5 spoons) and W(1939 ~ 1 spoon) The spoons are also marked with M&W in a shield(Maker Mappin& Webb) Cups measure 2¼” high and 2¼” across the top opening. Up for auction is an antique(1930's) 3 pcs set of Empire Ivory Ware of England. All three of these pieces are in excellent condition with no chips. Scratches, or cracking. Each piece of this beautiful set is adorned in a wonderful floral and leaf design in gold. Each piece also has gold handles and a beautiful Grecian pastoral scene in a gold cartouche in the centre front. These are extremely rare and difficult to find. These cups are designed by Kutani and that signature is on the right hand side and the artist's name on the left side on the bottom of the cups. These cups also have the beautiful aochibu blue dots that are painstakenly applied one at a time and floral blossoms painted in gold. Enoch Woods 'English Scenery' Wood & Sons Blue and White Cup & Saucer _ England
If you are a lover of Blue and White dinnerware. You will love this Enoch Woods'English Scenery' Transferware CUP& SAUCER SET. It was produced in England by Woods& Sons earthenware manufactures. Woods& Sons was a leading pottery and earthenware manufacturer from 1818 to 1846. It is a gorgeous set detailed in blue and white English scenes. The saucer and the inside of the cup are surrounded with blue and white flowers. The cup is 3 3/4" x 2 1/4" it has a blue backstamp as seen in photo. The saucer is 5 5/8" It has a different blue printed backstamp with urn mark as also seen in the attached photo. The dates and names on the saucer backstamp refer to different members of the Woods family. The dates are not reflective as to when this piece was produced. Ralph' was the older brother of'Enoch' There ... morewere several children in the family. As far as I have researched, this paticular pattern was made around 1917 onward. There were earlier versions of this pattern made back to the late 1800's. This set is in very good condition. The cup has a rough spot that has stained and the saucer has some light crazing on the bottom. There are two or three spots of factory glaze imperfections on the bottom of the saucers, such as the ones seen in the photos. These blemishes are consistent with this manufacturer. In no way do these imperfections detract from the beauty of this set. Actually each piece in this pattern has minor difference. That is part or it's heritage, personality and collectability. 4 GEORGE JONES DEMI TASSE CUPS & SAUCERS - STERLING SILVER HOLDERS 1934 68GRMS
Fabulous set of 4 vintage porcelain demitasse cups and saucers by George Jones crescent china. The little cups all have pierced work holders made from hallmarked solid sterling silver. The set has floral design within the base of the saucer and the base of the cup interior and a green band which has gilt overlay in a delicate geometric design. The outer band is of gilt decoration in a floral branch design and a wavy edge. The saucer diameter is approx 12cm. The cups are just under 6cm and the rim is approx 6cm dia with a wavy edge. The holders are a delicate pierced work design with rococo style handles. The silver is in good condition save for a small area on one which lies just behind the handle and a small area of the pierced work is missing but this is not very noticeable. They are all hallmarked Lion passant sterling silver- town assay- ... moreBirmingham- date letter for 1934. The little cups fit into the holders perfectly. The cups and saucers are in very good condition with just minor wear to the gilt. One cup has a hairline crack on the inner surface from the rim which I have tried to show in photo 5. This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Bavaria by Rosenthal in the 1920s. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches and the cup is 1 3/4 inches high. The ground color is royal blue. The cup has two reserves. On the front and back, containing harbor views with figures. The scenes are hand painted. They are surrounded by fancy gilding. The inside of the rim of the cup and the rim of the saucer have the same gilding. The well of the saucer has a gilded medallion and there are other gilded accents as well. Made without a handle, as were most of the earliest tea cups. The color is a rich Salopian style black transfer, with a hand painted cobalt blue edge and pearlware glaze. The piece was impeccably potted and light bodied. The little cup depicts a young man holding a birds nest being inspected by a girl with a dog. A tiny beaded inside edge with a bold yet delicate floral border trim finishes off the inner rim. The image wraps full round the ... moreperimeter of the cup. With a prominent seam. The decoration is very rich, with very little white space remaining. The cup is unmarked. It was made in the Staffordshire potting egion. Gorgeous Haviland tea set is beautifully hand painted with clusters of pink ro ses. Daisies and wild flowers with green leaves on a ground of white with touches of blue. And gold accents. As pictures show. There is some wear to the gold. Teapot stands about 6" to top of finial and about 6" from tip of spout to handle(holds 12 oz. The set is in good condition for it' s age, with the exception of a small flake underneath the teapot lid. The creamer has a hairline that goes from the top( near the handle) around to the bottom left o f the flowers. The sugar bowl is in fine condition. Marked with impressed Haviland mark on all three pieces and produced from mid 1850s to about 1865( pre- Civil War)

This pattern is one of Nippon wares most beautiful with the solid gold background and the baby blue moriage beads.all accented with roses. This is a demitasse set that is petite and quite lovely. The saucer measures in at 4 1/8 inches wide. And the cup at 3 1/2 inches wide including the handle by 1 5/8 inches tall. The pattern has pink, yellow and red roses in a cloud shaped cartouche on each side of the pieces.there are shades of green roses accenting them. The background colors here are shades of green, blue and white. Tiny moriage beads surround each of these cartouche areas. The remaining decor consists of a solid gold background color with pink roses with leaves randomly arranged over the remaining area all having raised baby blue moriage beads surrounding them. The inside of the cup is white with two pinkish red roses with leaves on ... moreone side. On this unmarked set, I cannot find any chips, cracks or repairs. When the cup is tapped it rings true. Upon examination I find the saucers gold in very nice condition with a small percentage of the blue beadwork showing wear or missing.very small. The cup has some gold loss to the lower portion of the handle. This piece over the areas has also a small percentage of bead loss, but the lower portion of the handle has 5-6 of the moriage beads missing. A beauty of a set.a beauty of a low opening bid.

A cup and saucer with gilt scroll made by the Batenin Porcelain Factory in St. Petersburg in 1820s. There are no visible marks. But the workmanship recalls that of the Batenin Factory, both in the painting and gilding. This is the museum quality porcelain. Dimensions. Cup– 3 ¾” up to the top of handle.
