This type of hand painted half doll was produced so that they could be attached to something useful-commonly a pin cushion. Half dolls are generally the upper half of a human figure without legs. She will be such an absolutely wonderful addition to your collection! The vast majority of Half Dolls were produced between 1900 and the 1920's. Although some were produced earlier than that and some later. Most half dolls are between 2 and 6 inches tall, although there are smaller and also a few larger examples. Vtg Art Deco Half Doll Plaster Head Metal Arm Lady Electric LAMP UNUSUAL This is a Vintage Art Deco Plaster Head Metal Arm Electric Lady Half Doll Table Lamp. It measures approx 14" x 7" The dress is torn and needs to be replaced. The lamp frame is there but the cord/wiring is no longer there. Her hair is loose on one side. There are some small chips to the paint and plaster on her head. Her arms and hands are metal. With a Little TLC this could be a great piece! We will combine shipping whenever possible. I take great pride in my customer service and make every attempt to describe each item as accurately as possible. This is a vintage item and has been used. Her hair is a soft brown mohair fixed very nice and she has a beautiful painted face. The bottom skirt area is tan with a bottom circle of covered cardboard and it is all in great condition with no damage. It seems to be stuffed with straw. I checked a doll book and it says she is bisque. There are similar ones also listed on e-bay that say bisque, I was told she is porcelain so I am unsure. This is an antique German pincushion or half doll. She is lovely pierrete or perroit with a mandolin done with great details. She has a black skull cap with three protruding brown curls. She has lovely facial features with pursed red lips peach rosy cheeks and almond accented eyes. She has a true art deco look and was done by German artists for sure. Both hands are away from her body and holding a mandolin also done with great details. The madolin is not shiny like the rest of the piece it is rough to the touch but is painted brown and black and has a full rounded back. Unfortunately the end of the mandolin has been broken off and a piece is missing. I did not even notice this at first but it is broken and I want to make sure any buyer is aware of this. She is a beautiful lady with her left arm& hand completely"away. She is wearing a beautiful blue crinoline style gown. It has a butter yellow bodice with sweet"off the shoulder" gathered"puffy" sleeves. They have round red circles in an Art Deco style. Her gown has a low neck frilly lace collar or trim. She has an aqua bonnet on her head secured on each side of her head with large coal black bows. A large white plume dances on her bonnets brim& falls toward the back over the brim. Her soft brown hair"peeks out" under her bonnet with curls framing both sides of her face. She has a gorgeous& ... morebeautifully painted face with rosy cheeks. Lush cupid red lips, beautiful blue eyes with a peach liner above them& one stroke chocolate brown eyebrows. Photo 7. The bottom of the top part is trimmed with white enamel shell like designs connected to one another with black curvy hand painted lines in the manner of an Art Deco style. There are black"dots" painted on each"shell" She is beautifully sculpted in every detail~her fingers on her left hand are individually sculpted with her delicate fingers folded over. Her right fingers are beautifully sculpted as well as is every detail in her dress top& face. I can find no marks on her but I know she was made in Germany. Sh e is a large lady measuring approximately 7 1/2+ inches high( photo 3) approximately 4 1/2 inches across the very bottom. All measurements are taken at the highest/longest/widest points. She weighs approximately one pound unpacked. The only thing to note is there is a stress mark on the inside under her body. Up for auction is a large vintage Volkstedt Rudolstadt half doll measuring over 5" tall. With a long open arms measuring 6" from elbow to finger tips. I'm sure not too many of these survived. This one is in perfect condition I don't see any flaws with this one. Checking Worthpoint the last one of these I found sold on Ebay in 2007 but that one was listed as a Goebel. For sale a wonderful vintage flapper doll lying on a sea shell in her bathing costume with her cloche hat. This wonderful little lady has. Unfortunately, been broken and needs some restoration. She has been reglued at the neck and the shell under her knees has also been glued. Please see pictures. She was purchased years ago in France but I believe she could be German even though there are no markings on her. It measures almost 6 inches in length and 3 1/2 inches in height. Up for auction is an antique(1925) incised& marked Goebel Germany lady& gentleman salt& pepper shaker set. These were made in 1925& are shown in"Goebel Salt& Pepper Shakers" by H. C McHugh(2005 edition) on p.107. Photo 2. They are a Dutch couple with the gentleman holding a freshly picked bouquet of yellow tulips& the lady has her butter yellow flower basket full of colourful red blue. Pink flowers. She has a white apron over her orange costume. She has a long sleeved white underpinning on with a modest high necked lacy collar. Matching orange"dots" decorate her big Dutch hat. She has black bangs& a sweet face with rosy cheeks. Red lips& dark eyes. The gentleman has balloon style orange pants with a deeper orange cap& shirt. It too has long white sleeves. Beautiful half doll pincushion fron circ 1920/30. This is a really fine piece that I would guess dates from the above era due to her painted clothing. I am no expert on half dolls so please let me know if you need further pics or details. I bought this a few years ago from an antiques fair and have kept her in my cabinet.I think she now deserves a new home. She is in great condition and looks to be hand painted. The colours are nice and bright in light turquoise and red and she carries a small black bag. The doll also has a painted necklace. Her face is very pretty with all paint still intact. This is a stunning large and heavy weighted early porcelain figure of a beautiful woman playing her instrument. It was created in Germany by the Dressel& Kister factory c1900-1920. She is painted with very fine details and has raised gold decoration on the her inner layer of the dress and gorgeous colorful flowers on the outside. She is 9 inches high by 10 inches wide and feels of solid porcelain. She displays beautifully however the bow and strings to her instument is missing and her one thumb turned in is broken. This is a Gorgeous Victorian Lady figurine made in Germany. She is wearing a blue dress with dresden lace trim and a fancy hat with a flower on top. Approximately 4 3/4 inches tall and 4 inches wide. Stamped on bottom of base with blue crown and L mark and some numbers inscribed in the porcelain that could be 6259. Not real sure, very hard to read. In excellent condition with just some minor chipping to the lace and possibly some flower petals missing on the hat. Here we have an Antique lady wall pocket. She measures about 7" tall by 3.5" at her hips. We believe she is made of porcelain or possibly ceramic. She is white in color and is adorned with flowers. Obviously from a good maker, but only marked with a number. Very well moulded and painted. Detailed and delicate hands. Semi-gloss finish to the skin toned porcelain.
