Awesome Antique Stoneware Brown Jug or Crock!
This is a WONDERFUL! VERY OLD stoneware jug or crock! It has some interesting imperfections. It has a beautiful rich brown glaze on the inside and outside. There are some very minor chips in the underside and edge of the lid. Other than that it is perfect! There are no cracks or damage anywhere else. It is about 8 inches from handle to front and roughly about 6 inches tall. I have no idea how far back this goes in my family. It truly looks like it could have sat in one of their pioneer homes of the 1800s. There is no mark on the bottom. I am setting a reserve of $55 on this. Thanks for bidding!

A 17th. century “Westerwald” salt glazed stoneware beer jug around 1690
From an old Dutch stoneware collection I’m offering a German beer jug. The jug was made in Westerwald in Germany at the end of the 17 th. century. The jug is decorated with leaves in manganese in a decorated grey square against a cobalt blue background. On top of the jug there is a pewter lid. Which dates according to my opinion, from a later date The condition of the jug is almost perfect, there are two very small hairlines in the handle and there is a crack in the foot(see pictures) furthermore there are no chips or restorations. Antique GLEN GARRY HIGHLAND WHISKY Stoneware Jug Port-Dundas Pottery Co. Glasgow
You are bidding on a vtg/antique Glen Garry Old Highland Whiskey stoneware jug produced by Port Dundas Pottery(Glasgow. Scotland) somewheres between 1878 and when the factory closed in 1930. From the makers mark we are fairly certain this piece dates to about 1901-1919. Around 1920-1930 Port Dundas Pottery begain marking their stoneware with just the words"Made in Scotland" pic 12) Although Port Dundas was in business since 1828, it wasn't until 1878 when they were the first to introduce transfer printing, onto stoneware and advertised they could stamp bottles in color(In this case black) This would have been with a hand held rubber stamp, taken from an etched copper plate. This stoneware jug is in exceptional condition for its age. No chips. Cracks, or repairs. The original cork is missing. The black transfer graphics are still ... morevery clear and crisp. There is a bit of black transfer ink on the neck of the jug. This was common as we mentioned they were hand stamped and obviously the worker who stamped the bottle had transfer ink on his hand. Measures approx. 8" tall and 5 1/2" in diameter. The base is approx. 3 1/2" in diameter. Shipping weight approx. 4 pounds 8 ounces. `0d.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk.rp*fc%3E%3E%600d-13d0b0f806c-0xfa-

Antique Ovoid Stoneware Jug Cobalt Early 1800s I. Seymour Troy Factory signed
Antique Ovoid Saltglaze Jug Signed" I.Seymour Troy Factory 2" Early 1800's Stoneware We are pleased to offer an early saltglaze stoneware 2 Gallon jug made by Israel Seymour in Troy New York. The jug features Israel Seymour's impressed signature mark on the shoulder of the jug when he took over the Troy Factory from J Chapman in 1816 and used this impressed mark through the 1820's. Israel Seymour and Chapman were one of the earliest impressed marks in this time period from this area. Seymour moved to Troy from Hartford Connecticut in 1806 and started in the pottery business. He took over the"Troy Factory" around 1815 and used the mark on this jug. This mark is an early mark for I. Seymour while later signatures in the 1830's are signed with I. Seymour& Co. Israel Seymour developed the Troy Factory in ... morethe following years and became the leading Stoneware manufacture in this area by the mid 1850's. The jug features a graceful floral decoration( I think it is a lady slipper) in cobalt blue underneath the signature. The jug is 13" tall with a wonderful taper to the ovoid form from the 5 3/4" base to the 10" shoulders and the 1 3/4" lip. The applied strap handle is solid and attached to the lip of the jug and shoulder. This form of this jug would have been used for liquids. Medicine or other spiritous items! Ketchum in his American Stoneware has a great write up on this potter and Greer in her American Stoneware features a full page picture of a very similar 2 gal. jug. Condition; The jug does have some saltglaze misses from the kiln. The lip does have a chip as shown in the picture. There is a very small chip on the base. There is a small imperfection in the handle as we have tried to shown in our picture: a notch and small glaze hairline( not a crack) which may be from manufacturing or utilitarian use. There are other normal imperfections like slag and glaze misses as can be expected for an early utilitarian jug. Please use the pictures for absolute condit

Antique Gallon Stoneware Crock Jug Jar Churn? Handpainted No Cracks or Chips
Very old one gallon crock jug or jar that has been handpainted. Although rather amat eu rishly. With a ball, flowers, a cat and a dog. This jug might have had a lid at one time and might even have been a churn. The jug is in very good condi tion with no c racks or chips. Obviously the pictures are faded all around. Antique Stoneware Jug M & T Miller Newport PA 2 Gallon Cobalt Blue Floral Rare
This auction is for a Rare Antique M& T Miller 2 Gallon Stoneware Jug from Newport. Pa. It measures approximately 13 1/4" tall and a diameter of 8 1/2" It has a nice cobalt blue floral design. It weighs about 9 pounds. When we found this jug. It was completely painted blue. You can still see some traces of it. That blue is a lighter blue than the cobalt. The original cobalt under the glaze is on both ends of the handle and the floral design. When looking it over. There are no cracks. On the bottom side there is a shallow thumbnail size chip that appears as old as the jug and you have to turn the jug upside down to be able to see it, not visible when displayed. There is one area of slight imperfection that appears to be done during manufacturing that is under the glaze which is located on the lower portion of jug. Please see ... morethe pictures. Please email me with any questions. The shipping calculator may be wrong. For accurate quote. Please email me your zipcode.
Antique Stoneware: Rare L. Kendall Ovoid Jug w/ Cobalt, Chelsea, MA, ca.1840, NR
An uncommon 2Gal. Ovoid Jug from Massachusetts. Ca.1840's. This bears The cobalt-washed stamp of Loammi Kendall, who started a small stoneware manufactory around 1836 in Chelsea, just north of Boston. His production numbers were relatively small and his name is rarely mentioned in discussions of early New England potters(L. Watkins, pp.45-46) This appears to be one of Kendall's earlier Ovoids. The form is not perfect, and the top indented- most likely bottom-stacked in the kiln. The upper and lower handle terminals are primitively brushed with vibrant Cobalt, and there is a wonderful hand-carved stopper that sits perfectly in the spout. This piece has typical manufacturing imperfections(clay scars, stack marks, inclusions, etc. but no post-production flaws! Please see photos for further description and details. A fine, early example ... morewith a primitive character that will not disappoint. This 2Gal. Ovoid weighs 8.2 lbs and measures approximately 9-1/2"W x 12-3/4"H overall. The wood stopper adds another 1-1/2" 7-Days with No Reserve! I ship professionally and promptly with tracking and full insurance included. Good Luck, and be sure to browse my other Auctions ending soon. Posted with

Antique Stoneware: 19thC. 1 Gal. Jug w/ Primitive Cobalt Decoration, *NR*
BEAUTIFUL 1 GALLON ANTIQUE STONEWARE/COBALT JUG featuring a handsome cobalt design. Jug is approximately 12" tall and the base diameter measures 7" There are no marker's marks. The handle is in great shape. There is. However, a chip out of the jug lip(see photo) It is quite smooth so it has probably been there for many years. There are a few small chips on the front(see photos) Again, they are smooth and appear quite old. There is a very thin and tight hairline 5" crack at the back of the jug which extends on to base of the jug- about 3" The jug appears quite stable and these imperfections do not distract from its charm and beauty. I am not an expert and selling in"as-is" condition. I am downsizing and have to let go of some of my treasures. Happy bidding! No minimum.

ANTIQUE STONEWARE 3 SIDED FLASK SHAPE JUG CROCK FOOT WM
Offering this unusual Antique Stoneware Flask Shape. 3 flat sides, Crock Jug Foot Warmer from a local Tampa Estate that originated in Pennsylvania. It stands 11 1/2 inches tall and is 6 1/2 inches wide. Much speculation as to its intended use and concluded that it was designed to be used for some type of alcohol beverage storage/ aging, thus the flat sides allowed for rotation. Another sensible answer is the Foot Warmer that had flat sides to keep it from rolling around in bed of buggy or bed at home. It is a beauty with no markings that I can detect. No info offered at sale other than the family originated in upper New York, Pennsylvania area. No damage. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS PLEASE NOTE: Import duties. Taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with ... moreyour country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be if you are not comfortable with this information.
