Here's a genuine vintage/ antique Burmese/ South East Asia/ Vietnamese Dha sword. Included is a wood(type unknown) scabbard/ cover with string accents. It measures a total of 37" with the scabbard/ sheath. And the sword itself measures 34 1/2" The blade is 23" long. This was brought back from Vietnam by Lieutenant Kenneth J. Parkhurst Air Force. It is just as I got it in 1980. The sheath has some chips where the blade goes into it on the top& bottom. And common wear. It is in better condition than many I have seen on here for twice as much. There areare 8 different figures and 1 foo dog hammered into each side of the blade. There is also writing hammered into the blade however it is in a language i cannot understand. A small repousse bowl w/ an Asian figural dance scene. I am not an Asian collector. So I am not sure of the exact origin of the piece. It reminds me of antique Burmese silver repousse bowls, but it may be from another part of the Eastern world(like Thailand or India as a guess) It appears to be silver, but it is not marked as such. I do not think these would have been marked anyway. I do not have a silver test, so I cannot be sure that it is pure or partial silver. I do feel that it has some age and hopefully the photographs will help an interested bidder. It measures about 3 1/2" in diameter at the top and is about 2" deep. The bell is decorated and adorned with a floral medallion on each side on top. Along with a leaflet foliate band wrapping around the bottom. The bell is a special one due to the high attention paid to the sound and design's on it. The weight of this large 18th century to 19th Century bronze bell is approximately 7 to 8 pounds and was well cast, a true and wonderful antique and important object of virtue.
