Probably a Shaman or Medicine Man of sorts, depicted standing in a frontal posture on a small round plinth, grasping a walking cane with the right hand, whilst the left hand, with open-palm, holds a'philosepher's stone' a medicinal amulet used to oppress evil forces and induce well being. xxx He wears a long flowing robe. Of traditional monk style in the Open mode, worn diagonnally over the left shoulder, covering both arms, with a broad end fold draped to his mid-section. xxx His face is serene. Hand-painted, with realistic flesh-like appearance, almond-shaped eyes, heavy eyebrows, prominent nose, and bow-shaped mouth with red lips smiling.
