Perhaps ahead of its time and by more than a decade for it looks rather like the later art nouveau from the 1920s yet was registered in 1908. The foliage in pale green sets the backdrop for the open bellflowers on delicate whiplash stems all set against a typical deep green background. Whilst not the mainstream of art nouveau design I think its great in itself and aslo a great example of the diversity of the period. Not often found, perhaps the penalty for being ahead of its time. Fairly good condition. Chip top left corner, two short very light scratches, ... moreother minor surface marks on the dark background, central design is perfect, perfectly clean, brilliant glazes.
