Very nice display advertising model for"Big 4" roller barn door hinges. Nice store display or can be used for any architectural project. Big 4" National Mfg. Co. Sterling. Ill. Hinges and hardware have never been used, only for display. Some spots of rust on some of the metal, I have lots of pictures so you can check that out. There is a logo in the center of each hinge that is stamped with the Big 4 and the pat. date, which is April 24, 1906 and the mfg. name. Hinges slide on the 27 inch track, shows how nicely they work. The two door rollers are-3.75 inches, work great. The washburne latch is missing. The wood frame is in nice condition and gives a nice presentation. Hardware can be easily removed and is ready to use for any project, if your not interested in a display model. Pair Antique Hand Forged Iron Strap Hinges for Barn Door w/ Hardware c. 1880's
Pair of Antique Hand Forged Iron Strap Hinges For a Barn Door or Old Door with Primitive Hardware. Offering a pair of beautiful hand forged antique iron strap door hinges with hardware. Circa 1880’s. It appears the straps were forged as a pair because the viewable design(as it would display on a door) has the same pattern. I.e. both having two holes that are set roughly the same distance apart. Plus. The white spots are on both and the heart finials are shaped basically the same with one ticking off to the top and one to the bottom. The top hinge is 15” long and is rolled back and flatten. It has a 5/8” hole. The 15 ¾” bottom strap’s roll back is shorter and more finely forged into the main body of the strap. Perhaps because the craftsman did not have the length of material needed to make the same shaped roll back as the shorter strap. ... moreIt has a ½” hole. As for the hardware. The straight 5” drivable piece fits well under the 15” top strap. In other words. It lines up perfectly so a pin can be inserted though both pieces. All that is missing. To make the whole set complete, is the pin. The hinge pin for the bottom is 5 ½” long by 2 ½” at the widest part. The size is such that it will fit both straps if someone wanted to switch the smaller strap to the bottom for some reason. They have a beautiful aged and untouched patina with good form and design. Both have breathtaking. Well formed hearts/spears ends. They are in excellent“as found” condition. I think the white on the straps is from aged. Dried out bird poop but I’m not positive. I’ll leave the clean up to the buyer as it’s my policy to sell antiques in their original or as found condition. Here for your consideration is this set of 5 vintage heavy duty T strap hinges for the builder or decorator. This set looks to be unused they are in good fully functional condition with some scuffs and paint loss and some light rust spots. These measure on the long strap side 7 1/2' and on the short side they are 2' deep by 5 1/2' wide. Each hinge takes 9 screws, I am including 45 of the original screws they have some slight paint loss and some light rust, These hinges have the architectural raised up surface for a great look and extra strength, they have the button top hinge pins these are set up on for right hinges but the pins can be easily removed and changed to give you rights or lefts. They are 2-1/2" at their widest and the hinge portion extends 3-1/2" They appear to be hand forged, but I am not an expert. They are in very good condition and have never been used. Up for auction is a very nice lot of 3 antique Early American Barn Door Strap Hinges. This lot consists of 3 hinges with pins. The largest pair of hinges measures 31 in. long, the second pair measures 29 in. long and the last pair measures 17" long(the other two measure 15-1/2" also come with original threaded pins.
