Pair of Antique Cast Iron Myers Stay On Barn Door Rollers /1888
Up for bid is an antique pair of Myers Barn Door Rollers. Cast in 1888, that serviced a door on a blacksmith forge, on a farm in Central Massachusetts. The forge is now coming down. I don't have the lower brackets that mount on the door. Manufactured in Ashland. Ohio, they have a heavy rusty patina, but the casters still turn easily and freely. The adjustable nuts on the threaded rods turn easily as well. One of the casters has some large chips out of it, look at the pictures) but it still turns and will still glide on the track, should you decide to use them. They are 7" wide and 6" tall. Surface rust, grime and aging. These are from an estate sale and are being offered in condition that they were obtained. I did take a cloth and wipe some of the dust off of them. There is no major rust damage. Only light surface rust. Which I left. Adds character. They seem to function perfectly. They measure 8" in length and 5" tall when collapsed. From outside of one wheel to the outside of the other it measures 2 1/2" This set has a nice patina to them. So they could be used for show or add some oil and hardware and put them to use. Up for auction if this pair of cast iron rustic looking large door hinges. the double sided hinge are 1-1/2" thickness between prongs. And measure 5" to 5-1/4" where they extend along the door edge. They are 2-1/2" at their widest and the hinge portion extends 3-1/2" They appear to be hand forged, but I am not an expert. They are in very good condition and have never been used. But there are signs of rust around the hinge areas, and some scratches where the black finish has rubbed off. They weight over one pound each and are very heavy duty. Nice vintage pair of cast iron barn door sliders or openers with wheels
This is a very nice pair of cast iron barn sliders. The brackets are approximately 12" long. The over all length including the wheels are about 14" The wheels are about 4 inches across and turn freely. There is surface rust that could easily be removed. Antique Pair JAMESWAY Cast Iron Barn Door Rollers / Hay Trolley Pulley System
Please use the Supersize Feature on our pictures at the top and below the description as we consider them to be a very important part of our auctions- our photos show great detail and they are about the next best thing to"being there" Here is a pair of antique cast iron JAMESWAY rollers/ pulleys. I am not sure if these were used for a large barn door with a roller system or used with a hay trolley pulley system. Both pieces are marked near the top on one side with JAMESWAY. On the cross bar with 5A, and each of the wheels or rollers is marked on one side with L80A. Both set ups have old blue paint on them. One more than the other. The pictures show the rust coloring on each piece as a bright, brassy color– it is indeed surface rust or rust coloring and will easily come clean with a bit of steel wool and attention to detail. There ... moreare also some small bits of dried dirt and sand here and there. I did not brush or scrub these down or spray them with any lubricant, just a dry towel to remove the dirt and dust. Each roller system is about 8” tall and 9 ¾” wide at the wheels. The four pulley wheels or rollers each measures 4 ¾” wide and are 1” wide. The groove in each wheel will accommodate a rope or track that is ½” wide. The groove is ¼” deep. Each roller set has an old original bolt. Nut, standard washer and lock washer. All of the pieces are rusty and one bolt is bent over a bit. Both of the nuts come off, but the bolts should be replaced since the nuts only screw down a small way on the bolt. Up for bids is a nice set of barn door roller hinges for track mounted doors. This set of hinges each have a set of rollers and door mount. They were removed from a barn in Ephrata. PA. The hinges measure approx 8.25" from the top of the mount to the bottom of the roller. The rollers measure approx 7.5" from the outside of the first roller to the outside of the second roller and are approximately 3/8" wide. Each roller spins freely and each rocker articulates freely as well. There are no cracks or breaks to these. They have great patina and rustic appearance due to the age related wear and minor rust and could be cleaned(i.e. sand blasting. Antique pair Cast Iron Barn Door Rollers Vintage Ornate Industrial Double Wheels
Packed& ready to be shipped out: One pair of antique barn door rollers. These are solid cast iron. They came straight off the barn they've been hanging on for at least 100 years& will probably hold on another 100 years. The wheels still move freely. But may need a little lubrication to keep them moving smooth. There are embossed words around the whole piece. But I can't make out what it says due to the red paint. One has the lip broken off by where it attaches to the hanging bracket, and is slightly twisted, nothing distracting or that will affect the use of it. Rollers are in working condition, no cracks, chips, or repairs. Both are marked"F. E. MEYERS& BRO. ASHLAND.
