Antique Blacksmith Forged Iron Primitive Farm Barn Door / Gate Hinges Massive!
These hinges are really big. Really heavy, really old, and really NEAT looking. Both together weigh 31 pounds. You can tell these were forged. I like how the outside edges were given a bevel. These hinges have spent most of their 100 plus years outside so there is rust and pitting. With proper care, they could last another 100 years. Use them inside or out or just hang them as they are for decoration.

4 very cool" strap" type hinges. The longest being approx 19" and the shortest approx 15" The longest has what appears to be a piece broken off the end. A couple are slightly bent at the end. One has a bent old bolt still in it. I do believe that these pintils were no doubt hammered into the wooden side of the house to support the window shutters! Window shutters back in the 1800's which by the way these pintils date to. Served an important way of protection, be it bad weather, big critters and in some cases.Indians! As you can see from the photos the pintils are very pitted from age! This is one half of a set; there would be another knob of some sort on other end and then there would be the inset latch mechanism that the shaft would go through inside the door. Shaft is about 3/8" x 3" long up to back of plate. Plate is about 6.5" long and designed to be mounted with carriage bolts. T handle is about 3.75" across.
