Vintage NATIONAL BIG 4" Horseshoe Barn Door Rollers Farm Hardware (SET #1)
For your consideration is this pair of National Mfg. Co. Big 4" Horseshoe Barn Door Rollers" Each roller measures approximately 10 1/4" tall and 5 3/4" wide. I found no signs that these were ever installed(see photos. No tracks on rollers or imprints by bolts or barn door on horseshoe bracket) and believe they are new. They were found on a shelf in the barn of a farm estate sale(with the second pair I have listed) and no telling how long they have been in that barn. The roller and the hinge on both move freely and smoothly and I would rate these both in good condition. The box has been wet at some time and a mouse might have had a bite or two. The brackets do have some surface rust and the high spots do show shelf wear. The new owner will decide to refinish or just wipe off and use as-is with character marks and all. Set of 4 old barn door strap hinges that were used for double doors. Each strap has 4 mounting holes and each hinge also has 4 mounting holes. Measurements are: Strap alone: 11½" long x 2¾" Length including strap and hinge: 12 ½" long. Hinge alone: 2 ½" x 5¼" Each hinge is sturdy iron or steel and weight is a little over 2 lb. apiece. A set of 4 old barn door hangers made by"Safety Door hanging Co" With PATENT date of May 28, 1901. One door hanger. The second from left in photos showing all 4 of them is missing a small portion of metal to the curved tip end of opening where the part that bolts over the top of one's door goes through. This would not bother the operation of your door though. Made of cast metal. Full height of a hanger is 10 1/8 TH inches. Where one's wood from a door fit in and the hanger bolts through is 1 1/2" in depth and 3 7/8 Th's. Square hole openings on the head of a bolt side and round on the end where a nut goes onto the bolt. Please feel free to ask questions. Vintage Pair National Mfg "Big 4" Barn Door Roller Set/2 Hangers Antique Clean
From a local estate. Here is a remarkably clean pair of National Mfg Co. Big 4" barn door rollers. These are nice and heavy, measuring about 10.5" top to bottom, anout 5.75" across the mount. Mount is shaped like a horshe- wheel swings out. Both pieces are in remarkably good condition for their age, paint looks original, these were apparently used but maybe for an interior application, not much rust and oxidation. A 4 set of National Big 4 brand barn door rollers that have no chips or cracks and the 3 1/2" wheels turn freely. All of these rollers are in excellent working condition. I had to use some penetrating oil on 2 of these rollers because the door they were on did not get used for a number of years and the roller bearing started to seize up. But after some careful work, they now are in excellent working condition just like the other 2. The total length of the roller and strap is 10 1/4" and the width of the bottom door strap is 5 3/4" They come with 12 good working newer bolts and nuts. If someone is interested in a 10' pc of red tinted track, they should contact me if they would want it added to this listing for an extra charge.
