One Pair of Early Antique Barn Door Rollers - Architectural Element - Hardware
This listing is for one pair of early antique barn door rollers recovered from a carriage house in Baltimore. MD. The photos show two pair. The listing is for the remaining pair of rollers- the pair with the spoked wheels. They are in excellent working order with wheels that spin freely and no chips or cracks. The mounting plates measure 9" X 4" with 2" diameter wheels. The pieces measure aproximately 12" in overall length. They are made for heavy doors with huge mounting plates that can accomodate a door between about 1 1/2" up to 2 3/4" thick. I have most of the original bolts, but a few are bent. These hinges are really big. Really heavy, really old, and really NEAT looking. Both together weigh 31 pounds. You can tell these were forged. I like how the outside edges were given a bevel. These hinges have spent most of their 100 plus years outside so there is rust and pitting. With proper care, they could last another 100 years. 4 very cool" strap" type hinges. The longest being approx 19" and the shortest approx 15" The longest has what appears to be a piece broken off the end. A couple are slightly bent at the end. One has a bent old bolt still in it. Odds and ends that I don't have matches for, maybe you do: They are dirty, dusty, surface rusty to very pitted depending on the hinge, some being older than others I would guess. Fresh from the barn. To be clear, these are not 100-year old antiques, and are likely of late 20th century manufacture. Each roller is about 10 inches long and 5-3/4 inches wide at the horseshoe-shaped part. The pulleys themselves are about 3-1/4 inch. These are pretty heavy-duty hangers and each weighs about 3-1/2 pounds. While the rollers were never used. They do have considerable paint loss and light corrosion in those areas. There is no damage or deformation anywhere in the metal. They are as perfectly functional as the day they were made. Five are 12" and one is 10" All of the hinges have some rust with light to heavy pitting, and four of them have some white paint on them. The hinges would be great for any primitve projects. Pair of Cannon Ball Barn Door Hangers X149 - Vintage Architectural Door Hardware
This is a fine old pair of antique cannon ball style barn door rollers. They carry wear and rust consistent with their age- but they roll well and they are complete. These use cannon ball style track still made by the Cannon Ball Roller Company- formerly H.H.F. Co. of Harvard. Ill. The rollers are are model X149- which is embossed on each piece. These were likely from the 1930s or 1940s. These would look great carring your barn door, loft door or accent piece in your home. We ship within 1 day of payment. Thank You!
