Mid Century Custom Built End Tables w/ Felt Lined Drawers
Matched pair of custom built end table form Elgin. Illinois, mid century. Purchased in the late 1950's from a cabinet-furniture enthusiast that custom built furniture with drawers. Many of his pieces have been stamped with his initials. I have several more of these custom built pieces available from the same estate. I would like to add that the drawers still slide like out and in with barely any friction, a dream for those of us that have struggled with aged pieces that do not slide properly with age. They are in gently used condition. There aren't any major flaws just warmed patina wear.

Up for auction is a pair of Heywood Wakefield Encore nightstands with the original champagne finish. Each one is about 24 1/2" tall. 20" across and 16 1/2" deep. For the most part they are in very good to good condition however they need some work. In particular both have scratches to there tops and one drawer had a chip out of the top back side which has been partially restored with a new piece of wood. I had intended on keeping these for myself however the shop I had lined up to refinish the tops closed down prior to getting the work done and as I understand the finish can be a bit difficult I have choose not to do the work myself and instead offer them for sale. We aquired this piece in an estate that we purchased so I do not know the age or the maker. The dimensions are 32" W x 15 1/2" D x 30 3/4" H. The piece in in great shape. The top does have a black mark on it looks like marker. It can probably be gotten off but I do not know enough about furniture to try it. There are also a few looks like water marks on the top but again minor and I am sure a good cleaning would fix. The back has a little discoloration but the structure of the piece is great and solid. This chair measures 23 inches tall in the back and the seat is 10 inches tall. It is 14 1/2 inches in the front. The seat depth is 12 inches. The rocker legs are 20 1/2 inches long. This chair is made by Dixie Seating Co. The makers mark is on the bottom of the underside of the seat. It is hand crafted with a contoured. Slatted seat and rounded edges. HEYWOOD WAKEFIELD ENCORE Nightstand Night Stand Endtable End Table Mid century
This is a vintage Heywood Wakefield bedside table/nighstand/endtable. Part of the Encore line. It says"518" and stamped champagne on the back but it has been refinished to a darker color- a medium golden brown(see last pic for comparison to a heywood piece in original wheat color) The finish is decent on the outside but is a little sloppy underneath in the shelf area(where you can't see) and the inside of the drawer is painted. The top has 5 dark marks(burns? see pic) and what I think is a small water stain. There are a few minor scratches on the right side. The left side is clean. Not perfect. But very usable- nicer condition than many many pieces I have seen. Shelf is adjustable/removable. Solid wood, very heavy.
