Vintage Mid Century Edward Wormley Drexel Precedent Nightstand Drexel Furniture Edward Wormley Wormley has pioneered in a broad field of design. He was one of those unique designers who was sensitive to the interplay involved in selling modernism and still preserving the nostalgic touch of intimacy, warmth and detail. Wormley attended the Art Institute of Chicago in 1926. After attending there he worked for Marshall Field`s Design Studio in 1930, and then a year later he began working for Dunbar. His collaboration with Dunbar made him a household name for decades. His first Dunbar chairs. Produced in 1932, were reproductions of antique designs, but when they became popular Wormley augmented the set with new pieces to form a full line of furniture for almost every room in the house. He was given a contract under which he would produce two ... morelines of furniture each year, one traditional and one modern. By 1944, however, the popularity of the modern line had eclipsed its counterpart and the traditional series was dropped. He opened his own office in New York a year later where he remained a consultant for Dunbar and contracted out his own designs. This is such a nice piece of furniture. It was my Great Aunts and I really don't know much about it. I do know that it is a Drexel vintage piece and is in very good condition. It has a drawer and 2 shelves which pull out for easy access and 1 additional stationary shelf. The handles on the 2 pull out shelves are wrapped in some kind of reed or bamboo strips. We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Mid Century nightstand/table/cabinet by Drexel Heritage. This is a gorgeous piece from the Touraine Collection(1967) which featured French Provincial style. The piece features a two door front with wire mesh inset in the arched door openings. There is additional storage in the lower drawer. The chest/table is cream with a golden yellow over glaze and gold painted accents. It is in very good condition with some minor wear to the painted finish in a few areas. This is not too distracting and does add to the aged character of the piece. This can be easily resolved if you choose to touch them up. Welcome to Grandpa's Garage. Today you are bidding on a wonderful pair of Large vintage Hollywood Regency end tables by Drexel with glass top inlay. These table came out of Grandma's parlor and I love them. They do not fit my décor. They measure 29" long by 22 1/4" wide. The front measures 16 1/4" from floor to top of glass. The back measures 31 1/2" from floor to the peak. From the glass to the top of the shelf measures 9" The one table has a small chip in glass on the corner and can be seen in photo. The second table has a flaw/wear in the wood under the glass and can be seen in photo's. Otherwise they are used and will has small nicks and scratches. Overall great mid century end tables. Vintage Drexel Fontanella Octagon End Table/ Night Stand Excellent Condition
This is a vintage Drexel End Table or Night Stand. It is in excellent condition and is sturdy and clean. You can see from the pictures that the condition is incredible. There is a small scratch on the top which I have shown in one of the pictures. I had to get the right angle to get it to show up because it is hard to see from other angles. The handle and hinges work great and it closes nicely. It is 21 inches tall by 21 1/2 inches across from corner to corner at the top. It is hard to believe because it looks taller than it is wide but those are the correct measurements. I believe the wood is Pecan because I have other Drexel pecan furniture and it looks just the same. I will delver to DC and surrounding area for an extra fee. Thanks for looking!
