Vintage Realistic Minimus-7W Walnut Bookshelf Speakers- amazing sound Still one of my favorite speakers of all time. the wood model of the Minimus-7 This pair sounds great. Functionally in perfect condition, tweeters work great, surrounds on the woofer are in great shape. Cosmetically? well. That is different. a few chunks in the veneer here and there, a few rub marks, and one crack in the corner, all fixable more or less with a little TLC. the structural integrity of the cabinet is still there. Grills are in good shape. I think it is funny still having the"oiled walnut veneer" stickers on them. reminds me of visiting Radio Shack back in the Eighties. Grill cloth has a few holes in them. One of the cheapest on here. Believe me I did the math.others are selling JUST ONE for 1,OOO or 155. I ADORE this matching set of mid century bookshelves. They are Mid Century Danish fabulousness. They also have the coveted and oh so trendy peg legs with brass caps. The lines and design of this set is gorgeous. I really hate to see these go. But I need the room in my home for more amazing furniture finds. These shelves would be perfect for all of your favorite books or DVDs. or better yet. For your vintage record collection. It can be hard to find Mid Century matching sets of anything.so when they come along, snap them up. CONDITION. These bookcases are in used vintage condition. They are authentic Mid Century. So they are pushing 7O years old. Some wear is expected, but they do look great and they do still have all brass caps on the peg ... morelegs. Some surface scratches are visible, they could use a good polishing. I could not find any glue, or repair work, or replacement parts. The brass caps need a good cleaning also, but are intact. They both have all of their original wood and brass parts. MATERIAL. This set is made entirely of solid wood. And is so sturdy. They were built to last a lifetime, and will definitely last several lifetimes. They are sturdy, no wobble. The legs, and all parts of both shelves are completely solid. COLORING. The color or finish is a really beautiful walnut. I am guessing that the wood is walnut. This color matches many mid century finds, since many of the good pieces of that era were walnut. An antique Walnut Cabinet with Glass Doors on the front. With both shelf and drawer space, circa 1850. We are pleased to present this antique Walnut Cabinet for your consideration. It features four adjustable shelves in the interior(plus one at the bottom that is not adjustable) In addition. There are two drawers at the bottom. The shelves are protected behind two glass doors, which makes this piece ideal for use as a display cabinet or book shelf needing dust protection for the contents. Ornate wood trim is found over the upper portions of both doors. The shelf adjustment system is shown as an inset to our picture#5. A small board fits into slots found at the front and back. The board then provides support for the shelf above. The two large doors have a locking mechanism. But the key appears built in. It does not look like it is original ... moreto the piece. The trim plate on the lock is free to spin around, but in good physical shape(it needs to be secured with a couple of small nails) The two lower pieces of glass show substantial"ripple" Typical of antique glass production. It is much less obvious on the upper two pieces, and we guess that they were replaced more recently. The trim over the upper glass has some splits and shade differences, suggesting repairs or replacements have been made. The drawers at the bottom appear to have their original hardware. Each has a large lock mechanism in the center. But we do not have the matching key. Handles are quite heavy and substantial, with large ornate plates behind the handles. The fronts of the drawers are covered with a beautiful Birds Eye Maple veneer, which shows some small chips around the edges. Dovetail joints are found at the front, with more of a box style joint found at the back(see pictures#8 and#9 for close up detail) The Cabinet measures 78 inches high(68 inches exclusive of the trim piece at the back edge of the top. In the right light you can see light steaks and smudges on the top. One has a 1 1/8" dent on the top. One has a chip on the top right front corner. 1/8" x 5/16" Not readily visible from the front. The speakers each have 3 little woolen pads on the bottom to enhance acoustics and prevent scratching. These speakers are elegantly curved with tapered sides. Which serve both an aesthetic purpose and stiffens the sides, focusing internal lateral standing waves. Reviews of these speakers are all-across fantastic. This model is known for delivering a good overall sound balance with warmth and dynamic expression. The one very minor imperfection is a little nub of plastic missing from the top right corner of one of the speakers where the grill attaches. This doesn't effect functioning in any way and can hardly be noticed. The nub is purely aesthetic for when the grill is removed and even so you can hardly see it unless you're looking for it. The speakers sounded great when tested hooked to a vintage Pioneer receiver and everything seems to be working fine. You are looking at a set of Bose 301 VIII speakers in walnut. They sound amazing and all the drivers work perfect and the woofer foam is also excellent. They are in almost perfect with the exception of one of the veneered corners has a tiny peel about the size of a pencil lead. Hardly noticeable but worth mentioning. All the corners are still nice and sharp. Also one of the speaker grills has some tiny snags, frays but hardly noticeable.
