We aquired this piece in an estate that we purchased so I do not know the age or the maker. The dimensions are 32" W x 15 1/2" D x 30 3/4" H. The piece in in great shape. The top does have a black mark on it looks like marker. It can probably be gotten off but I do not know enough about furniture to try it. There are also a few looks like water marks on the top but again minor and I am sure a good cleaning would fix. The back has a little discoloration but the structure of the piece is great and solid. Up for auction is a very nice vintage mid century modern furniture nightstand end table in a clear to white laquer finish. This table is approximately 22 inches long. 21 inches high, and 14 inches deep. The color in the photographs is fairly accurate but maybe slightly lighter in person. There are a couple small chips off the veneer in a couple locations and a fresh coat of clear coat would make this extra nice, but it's not necessary. I took some low angle photos of the top so you can see the figured wood pattern as well as the condition of the finish. Vintage, midcentury modern walnut low two-drawer nightstand or end table(commode" per its markings) It looks like it's likely ca. 1950s-60s, but I can't be certain. It's hardwood with walnut veneer; the legs are oak. Made by Dixie Furniture. Solid and sturdy. Dovetailed drawers. The photos were taken in relatively bright warm/daylight lighting- the grain is gorgeous. And warms and pops in the light. In less direct/cooler lighting, it'll appear less amber, less red. It's been refinished(chemically stripped. Stained with an oil-based stain and finished with a satin-finish(low-gloss) oil-based polyurethane. Condition: ... moreOverall. For it's age, it's in nice vintage condition with minor age-appropriate imperfections. By way of flaws: 1) On the top surface. Near the left edge, centerish, there's a small cluster of scratches(within a 1" square area) I didn't attempt to repair or remedy this flaw- I don't really think it's detractive(photo) 2) minor, superificial scratches and edge wear; 3) the smallest veneer chip along the bottom of one drawer, near center; and(4) this isn't necessarily a flaw, but a prior owner lined the bottom of the drawers with an atomic starburst paper(it's adhered) it's imperfect but charming and seems appropriate to the piece(I'm sure it could be removed with modest effort) Overall.
