Nice Danish Mid Century Modern Walnut End Table Nightstand
Very beautiful pair of mid century modern walnut nightstands. Inside of each drawer is stamped"Genuine American Walnut Veneer. Each nightstand measures 22" tal. 21.5" wide, and 14" deep. Nightstands only have minor scratches in them that could be easily sanded out. All legs are sturdy and unscrew from the nightstands. Drawers are clean and have no damage to them. This is a vintage Heywood Wakefield bedside table/nighstand/endtable. Part of the Encore line. It says"518" and stamped champagne on the back but it has been refinished to a darker color- a medium golden brown(see last pic for comparison to a heywood piece in original wheat color) The finish is decent on the outside but is a little sloppy underneath in the shelf area(where you can't see) and the inside of the drawer is painted. The top has 5 dark marks(burns? see pic) and what I think is a small water stain. There are a few minor scratches on the right side. The left side is clean. Not perfect. But very usable- nicer condition than many many pieces I have seen. Shelf is adjustable/removable. Solid wood, very heavy.

The piece features a two door front with wire mesh inset in the arched door openings. There is additional storage in the lower drawer. The chest/table is cream with a golden yellow over glaze and gold painted accents. It is in very good condition with some minor wear to the painted finish in a few areas. IL- Far west Chicago suburbs) Up for auction: A gorgeous. Vintage, midcentury modern walnut low two-drawer nightstand or end table(commode" per its markings) It looks like it's likely ca. 1950s-60s, but I can't be certain. It's hardwood with walnut veneer; the legs are oak. Made by Dixie Furniture. Solid and sturdy. Dovetailed drawers. The photos were taken in relatively bright daylight lighting. It's been refinished- I think it's absolutely beautiful. The grain is gorgeous. And warms and pops in the light. The legs(oak) are a bit darker than the rest of it(walnut) giving it a bit of a cool two-tone effect. And in direct light, the drawer fronts seem a bit redder than ... morethe rest of it(just the cut of wood, the graining) giving it somewhat of a cool tri-tone effect. Otherwise, in different, cooler lighting, it's more uniform, less amber and red. By way of refinishing. It was chemically stripped by hand(the tops, sides and drawer faces were not sanded at all, other than between coats of poly, with super fine sandpaper) stained with a walnut oil-based stain, and given a few lights coats of a satin-finish, oil-base polyurethane. Condition: Overall. For it's age, I think it's in very nice vintage condition with age-appropriate imperfections. I think it displays beautifully(and is superbly useful) By way of flaws: 1) On the top surface. Near the left edge, centerish, there's a small cluster of scratches(within a 1" square area) I didn't attempt to repair or remedy this flaw- I don't really think it's detractive(photo) 2) minor, superificial scratches and edge wear; 3) the smallest veneer chip along the bottom of one drawer, near center; 4) this isn't necessarily a flaw, but a prior owner lined the bottom of the drawers with an atomic starburst paper(it's adhered) it's imperfect but charming and seems appro

Brass accented handles, sturdy dovetailed drawers, and a lovely, pronounced wood grain. Age: Mid 20th Century Measurements: 28" H. 15.25" W, 14" D Condition: I tems are in good vintage/original condition being structurally sound and sturdy with normal age appropriate signs of use including some scuffs. Wear to the finish and surface scratches here and there, some small chips to the veneer, and a crazing to the finish along the fronts of both pieces(not cracks to the wood) as pictured below. There is also a small gap in the front top edge of both pieces where the veneer is pulling, though this does not affect the structural integrity of the ... morepiece, and is not terribly noticeable. This wonderful Nightstand has int eresting antique Brass-finish handles on the drawers. And it has dove-tailed drawers made out of solid wood on the inside that are working properly. See pictures. This Nightstand is in good original condition. And it has a medium/dark re d/brown stain finish color. This high-quality Nightst and is secure and sturdy. Ready for daily use. Vintage Mid Century Modern Nelson Thin Edge Rosewood Era End Table Nightstand Here we have a vintage nightstand or end table from the 1960's in the style of George Nelson's Thin Edge line. We did not see a maker label anywhere. The piece has been neglected some but structurally very sound. Some stains on the top and a chip on the lowest edge of one side. The pictures tell the story. All it needs is the chrome legs and the white drawer pulls(available online) and it would pass for the real McCoy. Very well done solid wood construction including wood slides for the drawer. 21 1/2" wide x 19" deep. 27 3/4" tall with legs provided. Legs are 10 3/4" tall. Open space: 20" wide x 18" deep x 9 1/2" tall. Ships safe and fast to your door.
